I wish YELP had a catagory for Sights to See or Local Attractions. I travel a lot and try to find…read morelocal flavor, or "what sets one town apart from any other." When I first went to Meridian, Mississippi I found they had the fantastic Dentzel Carousel, and beautifully painted life-sized carousel horses which were scattered around town as a fundraising venture for "Hope Village" for children. Tracking down the carousel horses made for a fantastic adventure. This adventure started a trend for me. Now I look for this same type of art project in all of the towns I travel to. Here in Abilene there are numerous outdoor Sculptures scattered all over town. I found quite a few, but I'm sure I missed a lot of them. I've posted some of these photos here. There is also a Fantastic Rock Sculpture at the University and the ruins of an old abandoned Fort (Fort Phantom Hill) to explore nearby. Besides the outdoor art, my dad loved visiting the "12th Armored Division Memorial Museum" & we both enjoyed "Frontier Texas". I've not done staffing business with this company but my client did have a car accident with them…read moreand they've been less than honorable in their handling of the situation. Their employee was driving an Avis Rent Car when he struck my client, who is fresh out of college and in her first job. The Summit Staffing employee was very nice, admitted fault, and I later learned called his boss at Summit to admit fault and send photos. 3 weeks later we finally learned, from Avis, that Summit Staffing was the company that rented the car. I called and spoke with Carl, listed as President of the company on their website. He advised me Kat was the only person who could give me the insurance information I needed to report the claim. Carl would have Kat call me at 9 the following morning. I finally called Kat about 10 the next morning when she didn't call and was told she was working from her cell so I called it and left a polite message. When she hadn't called back by 4pm I tried again. Then called the office and was told she was busy. I asked for Carl but he wasn't available. I tried multiple times to call both cell and office the next day as well. Then when I called the next week Carl and Kat were both out of the country. Keep in mind their employee has admitted fault, been very kind when we spoke, and the only thing keeping my client from getting her car fixed (mirror off, side door damaged and wheels out of alignment pretty badly) is about a 30 second phone call from Kat that gives me the Insurance company name and policy number. We'll do the rest. This is a simple at fault accident where their driver is openly admitting he erred. I can't imagine if I tried to do business with them and had a serious issue. I think the Golden Rule works well in business and personal activities. Summit needs to study the Golden Rule.
