Home Depot has a great tool rental section. A multitude of items to rent that will make your job or…read moreproject easier. I needed to rent a jackhammer. Went in, did the paperwork, loaded the tool in my truck. That is when I looked at my receipt. It turns out the rental does not include bits. They are a separate charge. SO, they rent you a tool you can't use in less you rent something else. I went home and took care of business and then returned the tool. I told him I only used one of the bits, so he did take off the charge for the other bit. Well, there was also a rental insurance charge on my bill. I asked if this was optional, and he said yes. I was not given that option and was charged for insurance that I didn't want. The point of this is to look at your charges before you sign anything. It will probably save you some money.

SO ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE USING HD BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED…read moreI put in an online order on 05 July 23 (approx $5,500K) and got an email said 59 of 61 items were ready. Its after 6 pm and called to ensure I could pick it up that evening so the guys could continue working the following day. I called and was put on hold for more than 18 min then when someone went to pickup they hung up. I immediately called back bc its more than 15 miles to drive back into town to pickup this stuff with a trailer. They finally answered and immediately said "please hold" "I said NO bc its been another 15 minutes. Esmerelda said "well you have 3 customers ahead of you" I said "no-I doubt they been standing there for the 30 minutes while I was on terminal hold." She had a shitty, snotty tone with me. I said Ill drive in and the 3 of us can have a discussion" she says "well you just do that" in an arrogant tone then hung up. Now I'm pissed and drove into this hell hole they call HD. I arrive and immediately ask for the manager on duty. Myke finally comes out and now I see the problem with the employees. His attitude isn't much better. I asked him if more than 30 minuets on hold is acceptable? Depends he says. I asked him we need to have a discussion on your employee. He's like "wont do any good to you to say or do anything" and just wanted to get me and my order outa there. Hence the problem-the employees are never held accountable. There was 3 HD employees sitting on stools next to one guy running the cash register. Management failure! Again management is still the problem there! This store has gone thru 4 managers in the short time I've lived near here. I own houses in many different states, used many different HD's and this by far is the worst HD in the nation! I quit using HD for about a year bc of the fiasco when I was remodeling my kitchen, nothing has changed! Shitty customer service Don't answer the phone Management is weak and useless in resolving issues Its been going on more than 3 yrs I lived in the area

When I first went to Meridian, Mississippi I found they had the fantastic Dentzel Carousel, and beautifully painted life-sized carousel horses which were scattered around town as a fundraising venture for "Hope Village" for children. Tracking down the carousel horses made for a fantastic adventure. This adventure started a trend for me. Now I look for this same type of art project in all of the towns I travel to. Here in Abilene there are numerous outdoor Sculptures scattered all over town. I found quite a few, but I'm sure I missed a lot of them. I've posted some of these photos here. There is also a Fantastic Rock Sculpture at the University and the ruins of an old abandoned Fort (Fort Phantom Hill) to explore nearby. Besides the outdoor art, my dad loved visiting the "12th Armored Division Memorial Museum" & we both enjoyed "Frontier Texas". I've not done staffing business with this company but my client did have a car accident with them…read moreand they've been less than honorable in their handling of the situation. Their employee was driving an Avis Rent Car when he struck my client, who is fresh out of college and in her first job. The Summit Staffing employee was very nice, admitted fault, and I later learned called his boss at Summit to admit fault and send photos. 3 weeks later we finally learned, from Avis, that Summit Staffing was the company that rented the car. I called and spoke with Carl, listed as President of the company on their website. He advised me Kat was the only person who could give me the insurance information I needed to report the claim. Carl would have Kat call me at 9 the following morning. I finally called Kat about 10 the next morning when she didn't call and was told she was working from her cell so I called it and left a polite message. When she hadn't called back by 4pm I tried again. Then called the office and was told she was busy. I asked for Carl but he wasn't available. I tried multiple times to call both cell and office the next day as well. Then when I called the next week Carl and Kat were both out of the country. Keep in mind their employee has admitted fault, been very kind when we spoke, and the only thing keeping my client from getting her car fixed (mirror off, side door damaged and wheels out of alignment pretty badly) is about a 30 second phone call from Kat that gives me the Insurance company name and policy number. We'll do the rest. This is a simple at fault accident where their driver is openly admitting he erred. I can't imagine if I tried to do business with them and had a serious issue. I think the Golden Rule works well in business and personal activities. Summit needs to study the Golden Rule.
