Never board your dog at Les Anges Gardiennes. They stopped having someone stay with the animals…read moreovernight over a year ago, but didn't tell customers. They just pretend nothing changed. They put the dogs in cages, stacked floor to ceiling, in a tiny room with signs banning entry, so owners don't know how badly their animals are being treated. From the time the daycare closes at 7:00pm until after 7:00am the next morning there is no one there, and the dogs are stuck in little cages for 12+ hours. There is just a camera in the room and who knows if they monitor that. They make a show of putting some cats roaming freely in an office off reception, but they won't show you where they actually stick the dogs who are boarding there: in tiny cages that are off-limits and behind closed doors. I saw the disgusting room because a lovely person in reception told me to avoid boarding there, and showed me the room even though they could have been fired. The people who work in the daycare are fabulous, but the woman who runs the place, Vanessa, is super sweet to your face and takes your money, and then shoves your dog, alone and scared, in a small room and lies to you about someone being there. Oh, also, Vanessa steals tips. The people who work there are so lovely (and you should tip them!!!) but NEVER let Vanessa see you do it, she'll take it for herself, because "they owe her." NEVER GO HERE FOR ANYTHING.

To be honest, I've never met a vet I didn't like, but Dr. James Rassi at the LaSalle Vet Clinic goes above and beyond. I took one of my cats recently who had some blood in her urine for an x-ray. When I entered the room with the x-ray scan on display, the technician was still in the room. I took advantage to ask her if the scans appeared normal. She said something to the effect of "well looks like she has some stones..." This freaked me out as I was terrified of my cat having bladder stones and needing an expensive & risky surgery. A minute later, Dr. Rassi walks in smiling. To be clear, he was wearing a mask, but his delight was visible regardless. In my panicked state, I snapped, "why do you look so happy... she has stones!" He quickly reassured me that in fact it was only kidney stones, something quite common with mature cats. No surgery would be needed, and she'll be fine with some additional vet food. After realizing my mistake and absorbing the good news, I was so thrilled that I could have hugged him. As mentioned earlier, I've had great vets for decades, but none quite as passionate and kind as Dr. Rassi. He is truly one of a kind and your pet would be lucky to be in his care.

Wow... I can't believe I almost didn't give this place a shot because of the other reviews. So…read morepleasantly surprised and we have found our new vet clinic for Irie!! Will definitely be comin back here for all our pet needs. We called first. I asked questions regarding starting a new file fee (0$), consultation fee (65$ per visit), and how many vets they had (3...with a 4th on maternity leave until October). I explained we had heard bad things about the owner lady vet (as per other reviews) and preferred to have a different vet than her: no problem we were told and not the slightest hint of attitude or anything. That was impressive! And a good sign. After discussing and deciding we would take a chance with this place...we called back and got an appointment for within less than an hour with Dr. Teresa Sweet (it seemed like a pretty good omen). The place is close to us, so we had a nice walk over. Entered the super clean, well organized, tiny clinic and were greeted and sat to wait. There's help urself coffee and coloring books for the kiddos. The products are surprisingly decently priced for a vet's clinic. (Ex 63$ for a super quality hypoallergenic large bag of dog chow is totally reasonable!) We were called shortly after our arrival and the technician Isabelle was absolutely fantastic with Irie. She saw Irie was nervous so right away asked us if it was ok to give her a treat...that gained points with both Irie and us! She was friendly and helpful and explained so much to us, helping us feel better that we are not to blame for poor Irie's allergies n ear infection. She also patiently showed us how to clean her ears and made sure we felt comfortable doing it ourselves. Then we met with Dr. Sweet...Irie's new vet. She was just perfect! Young but knowledgeable and so super caring and thorough! She examined Irie with tenderness and was exactly as her name: sweet, the whole time. They had many, many, many opportunities to price gauge us ...but they didn't, not once. They even asked if we wanted to pay for the infectious material to be tested or just blindly give Irie a med which may or may not treat the infection (we obviously paid to have it tested being that Irie is so sensitive to meds!). We'll be back in two weeks for a follow up and are so appreciatively happy to have found these wonderful people to care for our pets!!!

If you love your dog and you care about its wellbeing, please take the time to read this review…read more Last year, we decided to give Barkbuster a try because we were at our wits end with our dog and this company had great reviews and seemed promising. We contacted Graham who assured us that there would be no use of physical force on the dog (i.e. prong collars, choke collars, etc.) and we felt confident he could help us. What he failed to mention is that his method uses dominance and negative reinforcement to get a result. (i.e throwing a puck towards your dog and growling at it multiple times until you ''break'' the bad habit) While I am sure that this method can work on some dogs, I really do not recommend it on any dog who already suffers from anxiety and is insecure. After just one session with Barkbuster, our dog went from having small insecurities to full out recoiling, hiding from us and even growling at us. For the first time since adopting her, I was afraid she might snap at or even bite us. It took some time before she became her loving self again. Although I appreciated Graham's approach on nutrition and crating, I urge you to take the time to research properly what kind of training/trainer is best suited for you and especially for your dog

I was skeptical about hiring bark busters because of the negative review below, but after inquiring…read moremore, I realized this was the rare (only) bad review I could find! Graham from Bark Busters came over and spent 4 hours at our appartement. During this time, he went over everything possible, starting from the origins of dogs, to the food they should actually eat, to the vet they should see, to actually correcting many bad habits our dog had. He was extremely patient and answered ALL of my questions thoroughly, in no hurry whatsoever. Yes we used the pucks and yes we used the growling sounds, but boy did those things work! We also practised how to properly walk our dog, which involved no growling or pucks! It came out to about $700, which includes a lifetime guarantee. If a bad habit comes back - so does the trainer. If you move somewhere else and your dog barks at the new doorbell - the trainer comes back. If you move to a new city/province/country and need help with new behaviours - the trainer comes back. Given the amount of knowledge Graham has and how transparent he is in his recommendations, I considered the price a nice bargain! I would not hesitate to recommend Graham from Bark Busters to anybody that has any issues with their dogs at all. In fact, I would recommend him even to people who don't have any issues with there dogs! There are so many misconceptions about dogs in the food and vet industry, it's great to hear an unbiased opinion on them. Thank you Graham, and we'll see you soon!
