TLDR: Underwhelmed. Low energy DJ. Messed up names, timelines, announcements. Hardly played music from our Playlist. Dance floor mostly dead all night. Didn't hype up the crowd. Left my teen with bad memories of her name being messed up, special dances messed up and songs being mixed with weird music not on her Playlist. Would not recommend or hire again. I have to say, I was looking forward to DJ Tony at our party, but I must admit I was underwhelmed. We asked for limited announcements during the special dances meaning the Waltz, dances with parents, Stuff like that. He must have taken that to mean don't engage at all. He didn't pump up the crowd at all. People were hardly dancing and when they danced to a certain genre he'd change it or mix with something totally random and they sat down. He wasn't picking up the vibe of the party guests. What sucks too is we basically did all the work of adding a ton of songs on the Playlist (over 6 hours worth) and a bunch we thought would get people up and dancing weren't even played and some random songs he picked were. My teen mentions all the time that the worst part of her quince was the DJ and she doesn't understand why he kept mixing songs with Sabryna Carpenter when we didn't add any of her music on our list. I hardly remember hearing any of the songs we actually put on the list which makes me wonder if he even used it at all. He messed up a lot too. A lot! Called my teen Alexis and Alexa instead of Allix even though I specified it was pronounced Alex on the detailed timelime. He also messed up the intro to a special dance song and had to start again and then announced my daughter was taking a break when he was supposed to announce the Waltz. I had to keep going up to tell him to announce things which was absolutely obnoxious because I spent so long making such a detailed timeline down to the minute. Why bother if he wasn't going to bother to read it and stick to the timeline. His failing to stick to the timeline pushed things back so the dance party started past what I planned. I heard afterwards from a lot of guests that I called out for not dancing that they were waiting for him to play different music. He played hardly none of the Spanish dance music on the Playlist. I had to pay prior to the event rather than at the end like with other vendors. I withheld the tip so I could decide what the tip would be after the party. Maybe he decided to not try because the tip wasn't included ahead of time? Who knows. I'm just glad my daughter's court danced with her all night because the dance floor was empty otherwise most of the night. I wish I could go back and hire a new DJ. That's what I get for going in-house instead of with one of the others I had checked out. The whole, he knows the venue thing got me and I regret it. Only major regret of the night. He sat there most of the night. He was insanely low energy. He Messed up names, timelines and announcements. Didn't hype up the crowd or get people dancing. Maybe he works better with older crowds, but even the older guests weren't vibing with his music selection. Hardly played the dance music from the Playlist in English or in Spanish we added. I hate that after all that work, all that money, my daughter's perfect night had one big "BUT." "Everything was amazing, I loved it, BUT the DJ sucked." We hired Tony and his team for our wedding day. Honestly you can't go wrong and I definitely recommend if you want things taken care of they're very professional, knowledgeable and experienced in what they do ! We got the package they offer with the sparklers and fog machine, it elevated the experience so much more looking back at photos and videos of our first dance and it made it so much more memorable. We also added the mirror photo booth and I thought it was so much more unique then your typical white camera stand photo booths and I love how the images don't come out as a strip of photos but I'm sure they also offer that option. We had high hopes for this DJ company, but unfortunately, they did not come through as promised. I communicated with one particular, DJ, Tony, who is the contact person and would appear to be the head DJ. The day of the event he sent a completely different DJ without any explanation. The next day, when I questioned him, he mentioned that he had to DJ another event due to an emergency. We did not get a heads up, or a text or a phone call.... nothing! This was very unprofessional The DJ that did arrive to our party never mentioned anything about an emergency at all. A week before a party I had a conversation with Tony where he casually mentioned that he would be bringing another DJ with him to help with some of the songs since this DJ was a bit older and knew some of these songs better as he put it. I really think he just pawned off our party to him. The DJ that did come was very nice and kind. However, he wasn't at the level of DJing that we expected for a party. He did not engage with the crowd, and his mixes were not the best. The worst part about it is that after communicating with Tony about how dissatisfied we were and even showing him text from from someone who mentioned that the crowd looked sleepy because of the DJ, Tony just stopped responding. Even if there was in fact, an emergency, he should've contacted us. The fact of the matter is, we didn't receive the level of DJing that we were promised so beware of this. That's a scary thing because I went over everything with him meticulously as to what we wanted and he assured me that after our party, we would want to use him again and again. Sadly, they fell short. Also just want to state that we treated the DJ that arrived with grace. We fed him and offered him drinks and I would often check on him and make sure that he was doing OK. I cannot put into words how great Tony and his team were at my wedding. We hired Muzik Empire way before the pandemic started (I believe it was May of 2019 when we signed the contract) as we were going to get married in June of 2020. Throughout the whole planning process, Tony was very engaged and helped us coordinate our timeline, provided recommendations on vendors, and also included extra stuff that we hadn't thought of for our wedding. When the pandemic hit, we were struggling to figure out what we were going to do, Tony had maintained contact with me throughout it all and made postponing/rescheduling very easy.
