About 1 month ago, I purchased a 5 month old German Shepherd puppy (Xena) from Bob, who had already provided basic obedience and crate training for her at the time of purchase. She has far exceeded my expectations in every regard, and her continued training with Mutt Masters has done wonders for the both of us - Xena for added socialization and managing distractions, but particularly for me as this is my first GSD and I needed LOTS of help in understanding how to be the best handler for her. Bob observes carefully and is very direct in his feedback. Knowing that becoming a successful handler for a high energy/drive puppy cannot be a guessing game - I very much appreciate that! In our training classes, I have witnessed first hand how Bob interacts with dogs with owner/trainer identified issues - offering appropriately stern corrections with impressively precise leash handling techniques (in no instance causing the dogs pain, only correction). You can learn a ton by simply observing the way he interacts with the dogs around him and how they respond. Next up for Xena will involve protective dog training and eventually, PTSD service dog training. I very much look forward to continuing these curricula with Bob and the Mutt Masters team.

Bob saved my dogs life. Moose would explode at every dog he saw. He attacked our older dog multiple times. He was out of control. I got Bob's name and number from my Vet after taking my older dog in with multiple bite wounds. My Vet said if Bob couldn't help us then we needed to consider euthanasia. Things were that bad. Bob evaluated Moose that day. He made it clear prior to seeing the dog that he would be up front if he didn't think he could help us. He had the whole family come in and evaluated how Moose reacted with each of us including our 14 month old baby. We put Moose into a 4 week board and train program. After a week and a half we visited him for a training audit. Moose showed HUGE improvements. He didn't react to the 5 other dogs in the room and instead looked at Bob for direction. My husband and I both took a turn walking him around the other dogs. Bob showed us how to stand, hold the leash and what body language to look for. Moose tried to react with both of us but by using the technique Bob showed us, we stopped the behavior in 1-2 seconds. He only tried once with each of us. Moose didn't react to other dogs again for the rest of the hour. These are awesome improvements! We still have 2 weeks of board and train left and 5 classes of our own to attend. Things are looking up! I'd recommend Bob and his team to anyone from new pups to owners who feel they have run out of choices. I have never seen any unprofessional behavior nor inhumane treatment. He is honest and up front with what it will take to help your dog. He tailored his approach to what my family needed and has us bringing in our older dog as well. This guy works with all types of dogs from truly aggressive to puppies who just need initial training. If you are too sensitive to be told the truth, he probably isn't the one for you. But if you can admit you and your family's behavior is likely contributing to your dogs bad behavior and you can commit to training, he can likely help your dog even when it looks like you've got no hope. His results speak for themselves.

I first heard of mutt masters at an expo I attended and I told my one of my co workers and she said she brought her dog there years ago and he was amazing. After hearing that, I thought I would give it a try. I have a 3 year old German Shepherd that was aggressive and overly possessive of me. She would bark at anyone that would come in her space and we could never have people over because of her barking and aggression. After 2 classes, Bob recommended that she stay there for 2 weeks because she needed a lot of extra training. I was concerned about how to pay for it but Bob is so amazing and was able to work out a payment plan that worked for us. He knew we were willing and wanted to do the training but we couldn't afford it all up front. I went and did a class with Elka about 10 days in. I was amazed at the progress she had made. It was nice to have her on a leash and not yanking me down the street and barking at everyone she saw. We were able to stand next to people without her barking like a maniac. I could not believe the transformation she had made. I have tried all different training classes and approaches with no avail. I will definitely be continuing classes with him. I am so excited to get her back in 2 days and see the difference the training has made in our everyday lives. I would highly recommend Mutt Masters!

I heard about Bob and frankii on the Radio and really listened to his approach and teaching process and decided to have them teach Me and my dog to use the tools out there. I know shock collars are a tool but I wanted to try bobs way first. And me and my 7 month pup are doing great. I drive an hour for this training and its worth it. They are really training my dog to be good in all environments. Yes it pays to tune in to radio. Thanks uncle Bob from Maurvin read more

My dog was broken; from heartache to being slightly abused. He is a very pro in progress; however he has calmed down tremendously and is much more manageable than before. He's such a little lover! Thank you Frankii, Steve, Nate and Bob! read more

Frankie with Mutt Masters is amazing! Our 7 month old Frenchie is much better on walks, behavior around the house, etc etc. She is very good at the technical and process side of training while Bob has more of the "what's going on inside your dog's brain" side of the training. read more

If you're even considering using this con artist to train your dog? You had better save your money and go anyplace else than this. This is taken from Bob the con's email to my wife from Dec. 28th 2012. "Clients have a "no reason needed" to cancel their training program within 30 days to receive a refund. That said, I will be happy to refund your balance due in the way it was paid, as is standard company policy (probably everywhere). " Fast forward to March 11th 2013. When we were forced to take him to Colorado Springs civil court. Claim number 102-191-31308 for fraudulent services. Case number 12S12165 which we were awarded $561.35. He has made absolutely no attempt to repay us whatsoever. Time to take him back to court or possibly jail time. He is a miserable person when it comes to dogs. As he's also lied numerous times to my wife and myself. Don't trust him. Don't even get on the phone with him. You've been warned. And you wonder why there are "60 reviews for Mutt Masters that are not currently recommended"? read more

Bob and his team are fantastic. We would recommend them time and time again and will be back for all our future training needs. Communication and Understanding What sets Mutt Masters apart is their remarkable ability to communicate with dogs on a level that seems almost telepathic. They understand each dog's unique personality and tailor their training approach accordingly. They ensure all questions are answered and The results speak for themselves. Both of our dogs have made so many Over the 9 months spent in training, we watched our rescue being terrified of the world (despite working with a trainer at a rescue for over 2 years) to now being confident, taking the lead, and being comfortable enough to interact with strangers when we are out as well as company when they are visiting. Our other dog was struggling with nervousness; she has now come out of her shell and is more confident and comfortable approaching unknown situations. They work to build bonds beyond training. Mutt Masters has helped strengthen the bond, and both dogs have grown in confidence and obedience. They teach how to understand dogs' behavior and needs and communicate effectively, making our relationship stronger than ever. If you're looking for a dog trainer, look no further. Five stars aren't enough to rate the incredible service and heartfelt dedication they bring to the field of dog training. Bob goes above and beyond, offering high-quality training. We cannot thank you enough for the difference you have made for Skye and Luna! read more

We are just so pleased with Bob, Sarai, Nan, and the team at Mutt Masters! We adopted a sweet girl who had been on the streets. She had some very difficult behaviors and some serious fear of the world. When she got expelled from Doggy Daycare, we were beyond frustrated and disappointed. We sent Vespa to boarding training for four weeks. Following that, we've spent about 7 weeks attending weekly training. You wouldn't believe the difference in our girl! Today, she and I walked through a farmer's market without her showing aggression or barking at all! She also saw our vet today and got all gold stars! Now, people in public see her as the sweet, pretty girl that we've always known her to be! If you have a pup that you love but are lost for how to help, I highly recommend you visit Mutt Masters! read more

This guy is nothing but a con artist. He spends more time telling you how good he is at his job than he does doing what he's supposed to be doing. His intention of going slow in the training is to tell you that your dog will need to stay with him for best results and that's $700 a month. He's full of shit. He has zero idea how o train and just wants your money. He will charge you $400 for 3 sessions. You can't learn what you need to in 3 sessions. Again, it's a ruse - after 2 sessions he will tell you that your dog needs to live with him for a week or two. His facility is severely lacking. It's literally just his house and garage in the country. Don't fall for this con artist tricks! read more

This would be a great place to take your dog IF YOU HATE YOUR DOG. I brought one of my dogs here looking for help with house training, and basic commands. My dog was rescued from a puppy mill and at the time was very fearful of people. Bob was a pretty smooth salesman who convinced me he could help, so my dog went to live there, with him, for 2 weeks. During that time the only way I was allowed to see my dog was to pay for additional classes, so I did. The total for the 2 weeks came to more than $2,000... and my dog learned the command "sit". Literally, that was all they taught him. But that's not the worst part. Bob told my husband and I that its "stupid" to rescue dogs, that they're damaged and shouldn't be given another thought. He actually recommended that we "return" our dog! I've never been so mad in my life as I was at that moment. Since then I've heard numerous HORROR STORIES from people who've made the mistake of bringing their dog to mutt masters. Your dog doesn't listen? His solution is to lift the dog by the back of the collar, holding him in the air until he passes out! He's also a fan of chaining dogs in the hot sun just out of reach of water and food, to teach them a lesson. Bob should be in jail, not running a dog training business. I'll regret leaving my dog with him for the rest of my life, I can only hope that he didn't suffer as much as other dogs there have. Please don't bring your dog to mutt masters. There are plenty of reputable dog trainers in COS that don't resort to animal abuse as a training technique! read more

Learned a ton from mutt masters and the ability to call 24/7 for spot information was huge. We even dropped off a very young GSD puppy with them for 2 weeks while we went on Xmas vacation, and when we came back many of his puppyism's were gone. Training a dog takes a lot of work but they'll teach you how to be consistent, efficient, and effective. Totally worth it! Dog is now 6 years old and I get compliments all the time on his training read more

I thought it was important to share my experience with Mutt Masters. My husband and I met Bob last year when we needed our 2 dogs boarded. Blu 9 yr old Cheseapeak Bay Retriever with aggresion and epilepsy issues and Leo 9 yr old Boston Terrier. Our experience was very pleasant considering Blu has special needs. We felt Bob did a reasonable job caring for our dogs. However, Bob was very upfront with us as he called Blu a "Dick" (which he was) and did an outstanding job of convincing my husband that Blu could be changed through his training. He really is quite the salesman! Long story short and over 1,000$ later... i learned his training included choking dogs out (keep in mind Blu was 9 years old with epilepsy), applying a muzzle for consecutive days in order to starve dogs. Chaining dogs in the hot sun and leaving water just out of reach. Unfortunately, Blu did get to finish his obedience classes as he passed away during Christmas time from health complications. Bob held on to the remaining $350 and said we could use it in the future for boarding, training, or purchasing a dog. Bob contacted my husband earlier this week in regaurds to purchasing one of his German Sherpard puppies. My husband was interested in seeing the dogs and we went as a family. My 2 year old son had a Dr. appt prior and it was cutting into nap time; needless to say he was not on his best behavior. After seeing the puupies and observing their interaction with my 2 year old (not to mention the less than desirable conditions of the facility), my family decided it was not in our best interest to buy a dog at this time. My husband contacted Bob the following morning to voice his concern about having a German Shepard puppy and a toddler; stating we wanted to wait until he was a little older. This is the part that breaks my heart...Bob attacked my family! My husband stated that Bob did not take the news very well and the conversation got heated as Bob reffered to me as a "helicopter mom" with an "outruley kid" and "that kid is unmanagable!" "That kid is not welcome at my facility"! "That kid would probably get bit anyway and it would be my fault!" Bob was very fortunate that he had my husband on the recieving end and not me! "That kid" is my son and has a name. He is not uncontrollable... he is 2 and was tired and missed his nap. I was trying to make the best of it. You dont know my sons strengths, weaknesses, allergies, or disabilities. Yes, I am going to helicopter my baby at any facility that breeds large K9s and houses aggressive dogs! You have no right to judge or make decisions for my family! Those comments were hurtful; especially towards a helpless baby! Shame on you Mutt Masters! read more

Bob is the 'Cesar Millan' of dog training. Bob's background is unsurpassed. He has the immense ability to sympathize with any canine and empathize with their owners, training dogs (and clients), at ALL levels. My dog, as he has claimed is a "felon." She is a highly nervous dog whom has, in her nervous moments attacked our smaller dog and has bitten people. Bob is extremely passionate at what he does and sympathetic for those in need. He is no doubt the most knowledgable, successful, dedicated dog trainer we will ever come across! read more

Mutt Masters has been an excellent resource for me training my dogs. They have gone out of there way to offer me assistance when I have needed it. The ability to go to group classes closer to my home are very convenient as well as the one on one training. I have seen the other review and definitely have to say my experience has been nothing but positive after over a year of training. Not only has my dogs learned required skills I have learned many skills to be a better owner and how to shape and mold my dogs even in the worst situations. read more

I own a Pit Bull and spent hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dollars on training classes, behaviorists and books over the past 6 years trying to get my crazy pup under control. Before I began going to Mutt Masters I could not have Vixen around any dog what so ever. She anticipated aggression and acted out on it at the first chance she had. It was to the point that I was embarrassed to walk her because she was so unpredictable. If guests came over my house I would put up a baby gate or lock her in my room, otherwise she would jump on everyone. She had horrible manners. Bob, Mutt Masters' Master Trainer, is NOT your typical trainer. His passion for dog training and brutal honestly sets him apart from all the rest. At my first consultation with Bob, he explained to me how his training works and gave me homework. I was taken aback at first, but after doing some reading I quickly understood the importance. Bob emphasizes learning the relationship of dogs and their needs. Bob does not take anything less than perfection and holds owners and dogs to the standard. I've seen complaints about how Bob handles dogs. Let the record state: Corrections are just as necessary for obedience as praises. No dog is the same (i.e. size, drive, tolerance, energy) therefore it only makes sense the form of correction and praise varies too. Bob showed me how to determine the perfect amount of correction necessary for my dog. After each correction Bob or I give Vixen, she is just as happy as can be, her tail is wagging and she's ready for the next exercise. Since completing training with Bob I have taken my dog to the Garden of the Gods, parks, restaurants, and even managed to host regular cookouts at my house. I can have people over and she not ruin their clothes. I can walk in harmony with my neighbor and her dog. Vixen is a completely new dog. I would recommend Mutt Masters to anyone, for any dog, at any age (human or dog). read more

I cannot imagine assigning a rating less than FIVE STARS to Mutt Masters. Bob is not only passionate about helping handlers (owners) and their dogs; he is an experienced expert with real credentials (Tufts, for starters). We adopted a Schnauzer-looking 30-pounder in the Bahamas last year and brought her back to Colorado to live with us and our other adopted dogs and cats. She is not aggressive but, being a street dog in the Bahamas, was overly possessive of food and toys, hyper-protective of us, and impossible to stop from barking at men visiting our property. We have grown very fond of our "Lychee" (yes, she is a nut from another country...) and decided to obtain an evaluation from Bob. We decided to leave Lychee for boarding and intensive work with Bob, Gaby and Hope, in a ranch-like environment free of unwanted distractions. Today we visited Lychee and found that, in only four days, profound changes have begun. We have a lot to learn to continue the expert training begun by Bob. Frankly, I think it will be harder to train US than Lychee! But, it is worth the effort and the expense to have a dog who is comfortable in her own skin and around others, and free of the anxiety that has been driving her inappropriate actions that have been creating stress in our household. We feel very good seeing the respectful relationship Lychee is forming with Bob, how Lychee has completely calmed down around other animals and other men, and how happy she seems to be in a completely different environment where demands are being placed on her in an expert manner to remove the "brattiness" we were creating in Lychee by spoiling her rotten and not setting any boundaries. If you have a dog who needs really expert help, look no further. read more

I feel that Bob Warren misrepresented the German Shepherd I bought from him; he said she was "a dog with an attitude", BUT the dog had NEVER bitten anyone". Well, I have had enough attack incidents, IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS, for my neighbors to have the dog removed from me. Not a word about this "attitude". Bella attacked and bit a young man last week; I paid his medical bills and called him daily to see how he was doing. I got lucky; this was an exemplary young man, and he was encouraging, rather than furious! Exemplary!!. Bella literally dragged me down the street, I'm covered with Road Rash. His contracts are hand-written (WHO DOES THAT); he came up with a figure of $ 1850.00 for the dog and 10 lessons; but he always has the leash rather than let me learn by taking the leash! It's always the "Bob show", But he MISREPRESENTED the 'attitude' of the dog; the dog is more vicious, the a simple "attitude", toward all men; I'm not dumb enough to go take an inventory (kids and women). I ADORE Bella, but my neighbors are furious. I don't know what the outcome is, yet; stay tuned. The 'victim' suffered 4 puncture wounds. They picked Bella up right away (or perhaps the city would), and he is allegedly training her with a shock collar; she already had a prong collar which turned out to be ineffective. As of the other day, he had not begun Bella's training yet, as he's been "too busy"! Bella is sadly sitting in a kennel, and I'm broken-hearted. read more

I have a 3 year client relationship with Mutt Masters and Bob Warren. After seeing and meeting him in April of 2013 at the Pet Expo, my boyfriend and I purchased one of the best dogs we've ever had. The temperament, training level and obedience this dog had due to the training received by Bob exceeded our expectations. Bob was honest and forthcoming about our beloved Leather. Leather was diagnosed with a heart murmur but a bond occurred instantly between he and my boyfriend. We fell in love with him and he fell in love with us. When my oldest son was ready to purchase his first dog in February 2016 I immediately told him I wanted to call Bob and Kathy with Mutt Masters first. It just so happened that Leather's sister, Csilla, but not litter mate, had a litter and they had one puppy left. This gorgeous female puppy instantly took to my son and he was drawn to her. We are now adding a third dog from Mutt Masters. Csilla, Leather's sister and Hera's (the puppy) mother is now becoming a part of our family. She is a stunning and exceptionally trained service dog that we are in process of the handler handoff. So 3 years and 3 dogs later, our family will go nowhere else to add a four legged member of the family. Bob and Kathy Warren of Mutt Masters have become a BIG part of our family as well! THANK YOU BOB AND KATHY! read more

I hired Bob to train my dog who was skittish and unwilling to cooperate in going outside on a leash. For a fee of ~$1000.00, Bob agreed to train my dog. This training was to occur over 8, in-home visits at my house. In short, he showed up to my house 7 times and talked about dog behavior, with my dog leashed at his feet. The eighth appointment, he never showed. My dog is no better now, than before I paid the $1000. We are just $1000 lighter in our wallet, with nothing to show for it. Bob knows a lot and talks a lot. Where things fall off is that there is no action. If you want to pay a nice guy to come out to your house and talk to you about dog behavior with no real solutions to impliment, Bob is your guy. Just don't plan on your dog's behavior changing, or for him to show for the last visit... read more

I suppose I will start from the beginning. I chose Mutt Masters due to all of the great reviews (as evident here) and a chance encounter with a pleased patron/employee while downtown. I was looking to get my Heeler mutt certified as a therapy dog for volunteer purposes. Making my appointment was easy enough over the phone. On the day of, Bob was friendly and welcoming. He performed a fairly thorough evaluation of my pup, as well as gave me a few areas to work on a little bit. My only negative comment about our initial interaction is that he made mention multiple time of the fact that he was "only charging me $35 for an hour of his time that would usually cost hundreds". I appreciated the unexpectedly low cost of the evaluation, but if you are going to repeatedly make mention of the fact that it would typically cost much more, just charge me more (I was expecting to lay more anyway). When my appointment was over, Bob said that he would take his notes, draft up the certifying paperwork, and have them to me in an email the following day. I received nothing the next day, and decided to give him 3 days factoring in the life happens and he seemed to be a small operation. After three business days (in Irish appointment was on a Tuesday, I called him the following Monday), I called Bob back to ascertain the status. Once I was able to remind him of who I was, he gave me some excuse of being out of town or something like that, and to give him a few more days. I agreed, as I didn't have much of a choice. I had been planning on flying my pup home the following week for the Christmas holiday to volunteer at the Veterans retirement home that my uncle loves in, and that was unable to happen as a result. Once I returned to CO after the holidays, I attempted another phone call and left a message. Since then, it is now March, and I have sent two more emails via his website that have gone unanswered. Whether it was $35 or $350, I paid Bob for a service that was never completed. Because of that, and his lack of communication and/or follow up, I would not recommend him for any service of this sort. If you are going to advertise a service, make a promise to follow through, and even attempt to sell me hundreds of dollars in other services, FOLLOW THROUGH! read more

I can't say enough good things about Bob and his family. They have done an excellent job not just training my Mastiff but helping me become a more confident owner. My dog literally tried to attack them at first but very quickly became excited!every time he sees them. They board my dog and treat him like family. They even are concerned with his help and helped me get a second opinion about some issues he had. I'm a single parent and desperately needed to get my dog trained and Bob worked with me in a payment plan. My dog and I are both so much happier after working with them! read more

BEWARE - Locked Three Dogs in Hot Car on 90+ Degree Day. Do not leave your pets with this man. I found three dogs inside his truck with two windows barely cracked, less than half an inch. Dogs can easily die in this heat. A group of us waited at the car until he returned, at which point we asked him to take the dogs out of the car and explained the dangers of locking dogs in hot cars (very concerning that someone who has a dog training and boarding business doesn't know this). He became angry and argumentative, and implied the dogs in the hot car were fine. He initially refused to bring the dogs in, and only did so when enough people said they would not leave until the dogs were out of the hot car. At long last, he took (yanked) the dogs inside, angry. Was scary to see someone who people trust with their pets locking them in a hot car (we have no idea he how long he would have kept them in there for if we had not stood by, and chances are strong that he's done this before and will do it again). BE CAREFUL. read more

We had our first class today with Bob and my husband and I were completely impressed! We have 2 dogs our younger dog needs manners and our older dog needs socialization! We can't take our dogs on trails or to dog parks because of the way they behave around other dog and animals like rabbits. In just one class we all made huge strides towards improving. Us as dog ha flees and our dog in behavior. Another client came while we were there a very alpha German Shepard. We thought here is where we and our dogs get kicked out. But no with the skills Bob showed us we were able to diffuse the situation and handle our dogs so we were able to be just feet away from the alpha dog and no bad behavior was going on. Our dogs were more relaxed and social than ever before! We can not wait to practice this week and get to class next week. Thank you Bob and Mutt Masters!! Bob also gave us a smooth sales pitch, We have a beautiful Golden Doodle that we paid a lot of money for so of course we wanted her to be trained , we did the two week thing and were allowed to visit one time. at the end of two weeks we came to pick her up I ask to be shown all the things that she has learned. I was told she has learned to get along with other dogs. THAT WAS IT. I was so up set I called our credit card co and put a dispute on the charges and won. I then took her to sit means sit in Colorado Springs and had her evaulated. they confirmed that she had not been worked with. I signed up with them and they were wonderful in training her . We now llive in another state but she still is doing fine thanks to the people there. I really don't know how this man stays in business. read more

This business is a complete rip-off. I paid Bob Warren up front for classes to help my 2-year-old chocolate lab deal with separation anxiety. I met with Bob several times and all he did was to try to sell me products and tell me that at the "next session" he would begin the training. I finally got tired of this and asked for a refund. He said he would refund me the money but he never did. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I have in the past had the unfortunate experience of working with Mr. Robert Warren on a professional level. Fortunately for us, his methods of training and his unscrupulous business practices did not go unnoticed for long and we parted company after a matter of months. After his departure many former clients came to us about his actions and all were told to go to the BBB. Why more complaints against this "gentleman" were not filed is a mystery to me. While I was still in business in Colorado I felt that it would be improper to make comments concerning Mr. Warren's behavior, but I have now left the area and cannot be accused of trying to derail my competition. I now feel it would be improper to not warn potential victims on the way Mr. Warren runs his business, and the canine care (or lack there of) that Mr. Warren practices. Mr. Warren is the owner of Muttmasters canine training school. He evaluates dogs for training recommendations by snapping a clipboard near the dog (he may or may not still be using this "technique"), and when the dog reacts negatively or shows any signs of being disturbed by this noise (who wouldn't be?) he tells clients that their dog is a "sharp/shy" or some other behavioral label that sounds serious. He informs the client that the dog is in desperate need of his help, and quotes a training price that is ridiculously inflated. Sometimes he recommends that the dog come live with him for training. He does basically nothing with the dogs who live with him, and they are often placed in crates for hours, or driven around with him confined to a crate. He has absolutely no regard for his clients, their dogs, or anyone connected to his business or any business he is connected with. Mr. Warren is only interested in one thing and that thing is money. When his clients complain that they see no improvement in their dogs he tries to sell them more worthless training. He does not return the calls of clients who want refunds, he steals from the businesses he is connected with, and has cheated people out of thousands and thousands of dollars. He lies incessantly to the people whose business he wants to hook up with, and because he has been dumped by so many local training oriented businesses, he tells the new business how horrible the last business was. Mr. Warren is an unscrupulous, fast talking con man. His treatment of the dogs in his "care" is terrible, but as long as the dog's owner keeps the money coming he will continue to rip them off. I actually heard him tell a client once, "Good thing you have deep pockets because your dog is badly in need of training." The dog in question was a sweet little spaniel. I cannot warn the general public enough about this man and his use of defenseless dogs and their unsuspecting owners to pull off his scam. PLEASE warn your friends and neighbors about this crook. If your dog is in his training program now get him out fast and seek out the help of one of the city's legitimate, caring canine trainers, and report this man and his business to the BBB! read more

My dog attended training with Bob at Mutt Masters for 3 months. In that 3 months I would like to think I gained an understanding of the way Bob went about training. So, before I write my own review outlining my experiences, I would like to take a second to repute some libelous statements my fellow reviewer felt the need to make. In the 3 months I was with Bob, my dog and I attended roughly 10 classes, my dog stayed with Bob for 2 weeks, and my dog and I also attended several dog shows/pet expos with Bob. In all of that time with Bob, never, ever, have I seen Bob lift a dog from the ground, whether via collar, leash, or otherwise. Also, Bob does not even have any tie outs on his property. I have never witnessed (or heard of) Bob leaving a dog chained outside, or inside for that matter. To add to what Bob has on his property, he has water bowls everywhere. He has three bowls in numerous locations on his property that are always filled with water, as well as always accessible to the dogs. When the dogs stay for the week (or two) each dog has their own water around the clock. It is truly unfortunate that some people cannot see the depth of their dog's problems, and do not appreciate the miracle work Bob does. Well, on to the good. I took my dog to Bob because of her extreme aggression towards other dogs and people. At my first class, my dog could not even look at another dog without turning aggressive, and frankly, vicious. After 5 classes, my dog could not only walk next to other dogs and interact with them, but my dog also sat, lied, and came to me on command. We decided to leave our dog for 2 weeks with Bob to try to stamp out the remainder of the aggression our dog sometimes exhibited. After the 2 weeks, we were so impressed with Bob and the progression of our dog, we decided to complete 5 more classes to see what else our dog could learn. After our time with Bob not only does my dog no longer need to be leashed and follows commands very well, but we were able to take her to the pet store and to parks. Before Bob's training, our dog could not be around 1 other dog, let alone a whole store or park full. We truly feared our dog being put down because she was going to bite somebody, but Bob put our fears to rest. To add to the training my dog received, I also benefited greatly from Bob and his training. His classes give the owner the tools to continue training at home. We definitely got more than we could have asked for with Bob and Mutt Masters. If your dog needs help because they are aggressive, or shy, or need training, or if they are a service dog: take them to Bob. Bob gave us a free and no obligation meeting/sit down before we signed up for classes. It is well worth taking your dog to Mutt Masters. read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG...this would be a GREAT place to take them! I do not think that Mutt Masters should have gotten a bad review of any kind...that review was clearly written by an overly sensitive person...A while back I adopted a puppy from the humane society...they said this dog was NOT aggressive...within a week we found out that was far from the truth, my dog would attack ANY dog big or small and to our surprise children as well. I am currently pregnant and can NOT have a dog who shows aggression towards small children or other dogs. MUTT MASTERS and BOB WARREN SAVED MY DOGS LIFE!!! after just 3 classes my dog learned how to be around other dogs without attacking them! and stopped going after my neighbors 3 small children!...if you love your dog like family then you will do what you need to do to HELP your dog... I witnessed a troubled dog ATTACK HIS OWNER during one of Bobs classes...Bob stopped that dog from hurting her any further and got the dog to calm down from whatever it was that upset him and made him react in such a way. I also brought Bob my other dog who was the exact opposite of aggressive, he would not go near people (mostly men)...we took him to only ONE class and my dog was already showing improvement...everyone at Mutt Masters was so gentle with him that he was following Bob around by the end of class and taking treats from them. For people who do not like the 'tough love' approach, you obviously do not care as much about your pet as you think you do...if a dog is aggressive enough to attack the hand that feeds it you can not go about training lightly and if you would rather your dog hurt another dog and not do anything about it, then you have NO right even owning an animal. either get your dog properly training or your dog hurting another dog/person/child and your dog possibly being put down... I have had my dog stay with Mutt Masters for a week and he gives them play time, and then brings them into a SHADED, COOL area where they can rest and cool off...they are all watched like hawks while playing and stay in their own kennel with an elevated bed, food, and water! THANK YOU BOB WARREN AND MUTT MASTERS! YOU ARE TRULY A BLESSING...YOU HELPED US WHEN NOONE ELSE COULD! I RECOMMEND ANYONE AND EVERYONE TO GO TO MUTT MASTERS IF YOU HAVE A DOG WITH ANY KIND OF PROBLEM (AGGRESSION, SHYNESS, OR EVEN IF YOU WANT THEN TRAINING TO BE A WORKING DOG)...MUTT MASTERS DOES IT ALL AND THEN SOME! read more

We have been using Mutt Masters services for the past 90 days. All the fun began when we adopted an 8 week old rescue puppy (Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix) from the Pikes Peak Humane Society. We have not had a puppy in over 15 years and forgot how much work a puppy is, so after 2 weeks of sleepless nights, nipping/biting and aggressive behavior, we were seriously thinking of returning the puppy to the Humane Society. We were quite distraught over what to do but did remember that we had met some people from Mutt Masters at a Home Show in Colorado Springs earlier this year, so as a last ditch effort, we called and set up an appointment to meet with 'Bob' the Master dog trainer for an evaluation. What a huge impact the first meeting with Bob made as we were told that our little 'devil dog', with work and reinforced training, could be transformed into an awesome service dog to support one former military member of the family that has suffered for decades with severe PTSD. Bob is a no-nonsense type of individual and is very straight forward when he communicates with dogs and their owners. Bob's training (owners & dogs) works very well as our now 5 month old 'devil dog' is gradually transforming into a much better behaved dog and still has a lot to learn from Bob's many years of training experience along with the staff at Mutt Masters (Devil Dog is still a very young puppy). One other aspect we like about Bob is his honesty...he knows dogs extremely well and will only place a dog with a family if it is a good fit for the dog and family alike. From what we have observed, he will be the first to tell you when it is not a good fit which knowing this is a huge benefit to the dog and the owner(s). We have been to other types of dog training in the past and believe that if we had not gone to Mutt Masters for training, we would have taken the 'Devil Dog' back to the Humane Society. Our goal is to transform our puppy into a well behaved, service dog and valued member of our family and will continue to work closely with Bob and the Mutt Master's staff to work up a written plan to make this happen. Mutt Masters...transforming one dog and their owners at a time...keep up the awesome work Bob! Very Satisfied Customer...TLC read more

Mutt Masters I would definitely encourage anyone looking for a great dog trainer to contact BOB at Mutt Masters. He is extremely knowledgeable and is a natural when it comes to dogs! He has a way of communicating not only with them, but with you as the owner. He helps you can understand the training process and continues to improve the relationship with you have with your pets. I have worked with quite a few trainers, and none have been near as fluent with dogs as BOB! I have two dogs he has worked with. He has helped us with our 2 German Shepherds that were pretty out of control and really needed a lot of work to get them to be a calm and obedient. He is so great with the dogs, and great with communicating to the owners as well. No matter what type of dog you have, lifestyle, or training you need, BOB is the guy to take your dogs to. We have learned so much from him and my dogs have made leaps and bounds in their training! I get so many compliments on how well behaved they are, and I still go to him weekly because I believe in his methods so much. His training is molded around each dog as they have their own personalities. Jake and Thor thanks BOB! Which is why I recommend him so much! We are sending Jake our nervous shepherd to him for a week of boot camp, more reviews will be pending when we get back from vacation. Can't wait to see the change. When my pit bull puppy grew from 5 to 75 pounds in just six months and was out of control, I truly did not know if we could keep him. Fortunately, I ran into Bob, owner of MuttMasters at a home show. He has worked with my dog both in classes and in intensive overnight week sessions. As a person with advanced training in behavior modification for humans, Bob uses techniques that align with all of the latest and most compelling research to teach dogs about the expectations of living with humans through both correction and treats. No matter how out of control my puppy was, Bob always had a story of a dog who was worse, but he was also upfront and honest with me about the amount of work that needed to be done. Two months later, we are still working on controlling the vast amounts of energy that my dog has, but his ability to follow basic commands and expectations (such as don't bark, don't hump me, etc) is much improved. I highly recommend taking your dog into to see Bob as early as possible (12 weeks old is not too early!). If your dog's temperament is even keeled and calm, you will walk away with a superbly trained animal in just a few weeks. If your dog's temperament is more difficult like my dog's is, then Bob will catch it early and give you strategies that will overcome its natural temperament while it is still very young. read more

I have two dogs one approximately 8 years old and one who is approximately 6 years old. The approximately is because I can't remember when I got them. The younger dog is "Wallie". He is a very excitable 75 pound lab - shepherd -? mix. I used to issue guests a squirt bottle when they came in to keep the dogs at bay. Separately they mostly obey if it is just the family around. Together they create a 135 pound monster. My 28 year old son had a stroke and I could no longer no longer handle the excitability. I met Bob at a craft event and decided to give Wallie one more chance. I had sent him to another training facility right after my son's stroke a year ago. I was not pleased with the shock collar idea, and I was busy so I didn't follow through with the training. I took Wallie to Bob's facility so Wallie and I both, could be trained. I got Wallie back after 3 weeks and while he isn't "finished" he is amazingly better. In fact I am now working with Bob to turn Wallie into a service dog for my son. A couple of days ago I took Wallie to a home improvement store and was absolutely thrilled to have him walk at my side and be calm. We have a long way to go but I will be keeping Wallie!!! read more

I would NEVER do business with Bob Warren & Mutt Masters under ANY circumstances!!! I got two GS puppies as a gift, to replace the two I had just lost. These were going to be trained as my NEW Service Dogs of which, Bob Warren stepped forward & VOLUNTEERED to train them for nothing!! Being on a fixed income, due to my disability & being in a w/c, I jumped at the chance! Just before Thanksgiving of last year he quit, no phone calls nothing - my dogs still were not trained! On top of that, I LOANED him a Service Dog cape belonging to my other Assistant Shepherd which just died - with the understanding I would get it back! Not only did he keep the cape & a Book on Assistant Dog Training, but I NEVER got a returned phone call! Mr. Warren may know a little bit about dogs, but doesn't know anything about business or people! Since this time (2 Years now) I have found a person who is absolutely wonderful in training dogs, Especially Service Dogs and she does it in a very humane way! I would not endorse training from MUTT Masters under ANY circumstance! Mr. warren is cruel in his training and extremely unethical with his business! I just wonder how many other disabled people he has done this too? read more

Muttmaster Bob undoubtedly saved our Miss Alice's life. She's a dainty little Dobie we adopted a five years ago. As long as you are part of her "pack", she's the sweetest dog in the world. That said, she had been abused pretty badly before we rescued her. So, if you weren't part of her pack ... She would just as soon try to bite anyone she considered a stranger. We knew this was a recipe for disaster. Several other trainers said Alice was a lost cause. We contacted Bob, and started with regular training sessions. As it turned out, with her history, Alice needed some intensive training. Bob took her in for almost a month. He taught her manners, and as importantly, taught us effective techniques to manager her. Given her history, we take advantage of Mutt Master's boarding service, and especially the opportunity for reinforcement training when we board her (and her gentle friend, Gunner, who is happy to lay in the Sun while Bob & his crew work with Alice) Like I said, w/o Bob's help, Alice probably wouldn't be around anymore. Can't say enough about the entire Mutt Master crew. read more

We have been taking our two dogs to Mutt Masters for over two years. One of our dogs is extremely challenging and Bob, the head trainer, has done a great job in training our dog and us. We are now much better and more confient handlers after his in-board training of one of our dogs and out-board training of the other. We previous used a more expensive trainer in another state and we are more satisfied with the results from Mutt Masters. The follow-up services that Bob provides are great. Our dogs are boarded there on a regualr basis and receive sustainment training. Bob Warren is a great dog trainer and has been extremely accommodating to us. I cannot say enough about how much the training he provided us as handlers has bettered our ability to care for a very challenging dog. I could not disagree more with Barbara M.'s review. Bob always let us stop in a see our dog. He is from the Northeast and has a dry sense of humor, which i appreciate it. If you want top notch dog training from someone who cares about you and your dogs, give Bob a call. read more

Bob and Frankii go above and beyond for their clients. They are not your typical dog trainers who get your dog to sit and stay, then send you on your way. They do an in-depth evaluation to see what behavioral issues your dog may be struggling with, and curate a personalized training plan to help you and your dog live your best life. I never thought I would trust anyone enough to board and train my dog for 3 weeks, but that changed after boarding my aggressive rescue dog with Mutt Masters. I wouldn't go anywhere else to train a dog, especially one with aggression and/or nervousness. Bob and Frankii not only train the dogs, but train their owners, which is a huge part of the process. Had I not taken my dog to Mutt Masters, I don't think I would have been able to keep her. But because of Mutt Masters, I know how to manage and control my dog's aggression and help her live the best life possible. I could not say more amazing things about Mutt Masters K9 Academy; they truly care about their clients, and it shows. read more

I came to Mr. Bob Warrner because I needed more than just an average obedient dog trainer. Bob is knowledgeable and a master at what he does. He comes with many years of experience and training under his belt. When it comes to evaluating your furry companions behavior. Bob has a system similar to Myers Briggs but for dogs. I was blown away! Within 5 min this man evaluate my dog and did not skip a beat. I agreed to everything Bob had pointed out. My dog had serious nervousness issues he was dealing with. Bob took the time to show me how to manage and handle my dog's behavior. Bob and his staff at Mutt Masters are incredible! They explain step by step on how to take control. Point out your dogs behavior and help assist with situations you are having trouble with. My dog is more confident and better to manage. I am so thankful for Bob, his family, and the amazing staff. Thank you for the time you have spent and the value of training you put into my dog. Such an improvement and well worth it! read more

I own a Pitsky, Freya, who was aggressive towards other dogs and very nervous. I tried everything I could to help her (calming oils, calming collars, CBD, Calming treats, Thunder shirt, etc.) I tried many different dog trainers and canine behaviorists; none of them could help me. It was at an Oddities Expo that I met some wonderful people running the Mutt Masters booth and they told me Bob was the best. My evaluation with Bob was excellent! He was concise and patient; explaining Freya's behavior and in what ways he could help Freya and I. I attended group classes and slowly started to see improvement in my canine companion's behavior. However, the MOST improvement I saw, was when I had Freya in for in-kennel training. It was a long road to recovery for her; however, now she wags her tail and her beautiful personality shines through! Mutt Masters did not cure my dog; he taught me how to read my dogs actions/behaviors and how to control my dog. I learned a lot. Definitely money well spent! read more

Bob Warren's insight into Dog Behavior and corrections is next to none and a positive learning experience for both me and my Akita. Though just a puppy I want her to have the very best behavior she can and to do that Bob has taught me many little things and insights to look at. His way of seeing a Dog from the inside out is incredible and thoroughly insightful for the short picture and the big picture. I have benefited from Bob's expertise time and again with new ideas to look at old ways I have trained over a thousand dogs, and I'm still learning new things from him. His wife is a Behavioral Specialist and is very thoughtful of how we see our dogs and how we need to understand them. Together with Bob they are an unbeatable team. My girl will be absolutely awesome as I keep working with her, likely the best dog ever, and happy as can be as she becomes a Fully Trained Working Service Dog. Thanks Bob and Kathy for helping me help my puppy be the dog everyone dreams of having. read more

We took our five year-old Shih Tzu to Bob and Franki to learn some manners. We were mostly concerned with consistent, ongoing barking at other dogs, or people walking down the street, even people coming to our house that she is friendly with. We were pleasantly surprised that after only two sessions we could see marked improvement. Although it's difficult to see whether the dog is being trained, or whether the humans are being trained, nonetheless, the situation has improved. We look forward to finishing up and now having a very nicely, mannered pup. Bob and Franki are both very professional and very knowledgeable. Bob has been doing this for years and is clearly well qualified for the job. He is a colorful character, friendly and loves to chat putting both dogs and humans at ease. The techniques he teaches are clearly humane and gentle but firm. I would recommend Mutt Masters wholeheartedly for simple issues to the most difficult and aggressive dog. Bob's your guy! read more

Mutt Masters is a life-saver! We had a vacation planned and couldn't bring our dogs so we decided to kennel them. Unfortunately, when we went to drop our three dogs off, they wouldn't take our rottweiler because she was being aggressive. We were in a panic and scrambling to save our vacation. We looked online and found Mutt Masters. They were willing to meet with us and our rotti that same day. They not only took her for the days while we were on vacation, but they offered to keep her for about three more weeks for training. It was the best thing we could have done. We came for classes to learn about how to work with her and help her become less anxious. Bob is honest and doesn't sugar coat things. He'll tell you what needs to happen, even if it's hard to hear. When we finally came to take our pup home, she didn't want to leave! Her manners had improved so much, and she finally listened! The price is worth it if you want to have a well-behaved dog. read more

We met Frankii and Mutt Masters at Territory Days in Old Colorado City. We were so impressed with the dogs that they had there. We had just gotten a Saint Bernard puppy we were looking for training knowing what we would be up against. We set up an appointment and met Bob. At first we weren't sure what we were getting into but it soon became apparent he knows what he's doing. They're not only about training the dog/puppy, but training you as their owner so you walk out knowing what you're doing and they're all about positive training, not negative (which we've encountered previously), and guess what, it works!!! One of the best things, when we finished our first training session/package they didn't try and sell us more sessions immediately. They said, call us when she reaches her next milestone (7-8 months) and we'll do more. read more

Our experience with Mutt Masters has been great. Our dog has gotten attacked a total of 5 times (REALLY bad luck I guess). We started coming here because our dog was reacting aggressively when he would see other dogs. After training with Bob our dog only gets a little upset, listens to us, and walks back home with no issues. I'm completely amazed by Bob's abilities in his knowledge of training dogs. For this reason we started boarding our dog here. We are very choosy on where we leave him because we've had some REALLY bad experiences and even at good places he would come back with his eyes red (I'm guessing from missing us). After staying with Bob and his wife our dog does definitely miss us but he is so much better spirits. It gives me so much peace of mind in knowing our dog is getting such good care while we're gone. read more

Stephanie K. Your review was so scathing and inaccurate I had to post a rebuttal. I am a customer of Bob's and I would like to comment on the fact most of this scrapping is regarding his reaction to your 3 year old with special needs being brought to a facility when you thought there were"dangerous dogs", this is not what a "good"mother would do. Sounds to me that was Bob & MuttMasters concern. Also, the business is not a non-profit status. They expect you would be open enough to tell Bob"NO"! Walk out if you want but don't degrade this man by saying he is "quite the salesperson"when you could have left at any time. No one tied you to a chair. Lastly, I have more to say but I will leave this at you should be more focused on YOUR behavior and not blaming it on this well thought of professional! read more

I've taken my two dogs to Bob a few times now and can honestly say he is worth every penny. The amount of knowledge and expertise he has is remarkable. The relationship starts by taking your dog in for a free consultation. Bob then will assess your dog's behavior patterns through a series of tests. I have two pitbulls and he was able to describe their personalities perfectly. He described our 1 yr old female as possessive, easily distracted and in desperate need of some manners. After the first two sessions I noticed an immediate change in the 1 yr olds behavior. With the combination of Bob's tactics and you yourself implementing these tactics at home consistently, then I can guarantee you will see the change in ur dog that you're looking for. read more
