They have focused on structuring lessons for an adult beginner, so that I am quickly learning what I need to know to play guitar. My son started music lessons at Music House a few years ago. He started without any drum set experience and now we are on drum set number 2 because he has outgrown his first one! He started with just a weekly lesson and now he participates in his weekly lesson and is involved in a rock band and the jazz ensemble. I cannot say enough good things about our experience there. He has grown in leaps and bounds in his percussion skills due not only to the excellent instruction he has received there but also due to the large amounts of time and energy he has put in to practicing and getting ready for his classes and rehearsals because he is so inspired by his teachers. The community classes that are offered on weekends are an amazing bonus available to students and we take advantage of those offerings often. The reach of his Music House instruction has gone beyond their walls as well. My son is a much more successful band student at school and knows that he can always bring in a piece from school or for an audition and get the help he needs during his time there. We love Music House in Lenexa, great teachers and a wonderful overall experience for my 9 year old daughter.

My daughter started at Music House over the summer holidays; she said she was interested in piano lessons. However as she is six years old, I fully expected the initial enthusiasm to die out within a few classes. Instead 5 months later, we are still going strong! I initially enrolled her for the hour-long group Foundation basics lessons. Within a few classes she was hooked. She enjoys her teacher, her lesson-mates and most of all the music. I do not want my child to be a concert pianist, but to have an appreciation for music - listening and creating it - and all that it brings to one's life. To that end, Music House gets top marks. Just some info for other parents out there: 1. Music House offers curriculum that are in sessions lasting two months. You sign up for 8 classes, one per week. 2. Prices are reasonable. 3. The performance at the end of the session was great - it allows the students to showcase what they have learnt Parents attend only the level that their children perform in; the showcase lasts not more than 1.5 hours. 4. It is a local business with ties in the community. Good people run this place. 5. Great vibes, welcoming atmosphere; not snooty or intimidating. 6. Oh! My grandson has been taking drum lessons at Music House in Lenexa for the past 4 years and he loves it. Teachers are great! He participated in their band workshops with an all students band and played in some showcases that they hold periodically at their O.P. location. He has also participated in several of their solo showcases in Lenexa. Great environment , very friendly. We started at Music House when my son had plateaued at his school band. He began with 30 minute lessons and really "caught the music bug" thanks to the gifted and approachable teachers.
