Another cool music equipment store. They also buy & sell used equipment so if you can't afford brand new, there are other affordable options. read more

The sales staff, is not very engaged with the customer. They tend to be more pre-occupied with prepping the used instrument that come in also when you enquire about an item they say they don't know or you get ignored. Some but not all the staff have this rudeness to them. Not a very welcoming environment, because this is Albuquerque New Mexico your options in music instrument stores is very limited you only have two that have any inventory at all thats music go round and guitar center. I rather not spend my hard earned dollars there but sometimes you have no choice read more

Took my amp there to sell. They Called me and said $80 cash or $88 store credit. I went over there to get the cash. They said let us test the amp first. I assumed they already did. Ended up giving me nothing. Wasted a lot of time. Guy behind counter also told me my truck was too far and he didn't have the time to help me load of offload my amp. read more

Drove down from Santa Fe and traded for a Epiphone Riviera P93 (nice guitar). Benji was fair with no hassle cash price difference out the door. Would definitely do business there again. No music store offers any buy/sell/trade in Santa Fe. I would recommend Music Go Round to anyone! George Santa Fe read more

Broken Casio drum machine on display. Encoder (knob) not working. Two clerks reviewed the manual and tried to tell me it was working. When proven wrong one clerk rushed the machine to the back room. No apology, no nothing. Be sure to test gear thoroughly before you buy! read more

I'm so pleased with the help and knowledge that I receive every time I go in the door. I have been trying to build up a little music room for my three boys. This place makes it easier to get them the gear they want at a price I can afford. Thank you, music go round we are very grateful. read more

I purchased an instrument from this shop via their WWW store. There was a snafu in shipping, as there can sometimes be, however the store manager stepped up and took care of everything. So customer service is highly rated! The instrument came professionally packed using recyclable materials. I am very happy with the guitar and how it was described, so five stars!!! read more

The people who work there are great. They're nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. There's amazing gear too. I go every time I'm in town

I am percussionist with decades of gigging experience. I am also a woman with gray hair. I currently own three drum kits, but I need a less expensive kit to leave indefinitely at a practice facility. I went to the Albuquerque location on a Saturday afternoon, only to be completely ignored by staff. The gender and age discrimination were blatant. The store missed out on a sure sale. read more

I had a really weird experience. Just was there to spend my hard-earned money, was gawked at and stared at like a disease, then asked to give my id when I was just trying to purchase something...... Weird vibes. Won't be back unless it's to return something. Didn't feel welcome, or cool enough . At all. read more

Good people. Ok selection. If you return brand new items, unopened, in their original sealed boxes, they still only give you store credit.

The were extremely rude when I tried to return something. I will never shop here again. I tried to shop local and they have terrible service. read more

Excellent selection of used instruments and gear. Very friendly staff. They also have a good selection of new items and can special order gear for you. read more

Bought a beautiful TR-8 drum machine with amazing help from the staff. I also got a great deal of midi/quarter inch cables the other day with more help from the staff. They also have a pretty good selection of Synthesizers. I cannot recommend then enough. read more

Music Go Round - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Attention all Parents. Go nowhere else. Here are the quick points. Great selection of quality pre-owned guitars. These guys are subject matter experts with a music lovers delivery. Prices are very fair. We were in town from Dallas for Christmas and my 14 year old guitar playing son loved spending time in the store and the staff especially Jaden could not have been any nicer or knowledgeable. We bought a Marshall head that looked brand new and delivered the perfect tone! I don't know music so the good advise was worth the trip alone! Saved some real bucks. I will never go to Guitar Center again! read more

Music Go Round - We will be back!! - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I had a fantastic experience today with Ruben the manager who helped me. (However everybody there was smiling and came off friendly) I was buying a gift for my boyfriend so I let him know right away I didn't necessarily know what to look for when shopping for a guitar. He took me to the guitars I was looking for and began to educate me on what was better and more ideal in a guitar. He even sat down and played them personally so I could hear the difference. He was so knowledgeable and genuine. Before this, I went to Guitar Center and I felt like a complete fish out of water. So thank you Music Go Round for being so helpful and welcoming! read more

Music Go Round - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Not many businesses earn, or come close to deserving, a 5 Star rating. Music Go Round is a shining exception. My first trip in was an ordeal, not because of the store, or employees, but because I could barely speak (aphasia,) had tremors and seizures, and needed to be escorted in by my caregiver. Aaron, a young, affable, polite, and attentive gentleman helped us. He listened as my caregiver interpreted my grunts and swearing, helped pick out an inexpensive bass, amp, cords, and a couple picks. I wasn't able to play, the first few months, and wound up with some really old/dusty/worn pots issues in that first bass. I took it in, looking at a new bass, and to see about buying pots to fix it, instead, they replaced the pots and adjusted the setup, free, and encouraged me to keep practicing and coming back! I've since regained the ability to speak and interact, I've overcome the majority of my seizure, muscle spasms, and even memory issues. I've got a collection of 3 distinct basses, a nice amp, Stratocaster, and bass pedal array, all from Music Go Round. I run, exclusively GHS Precision flats, on all my Fender/Squier gear, and exclusively buy here. Instead of charging me, over and over, to set up my basses, they demonstrated for me some things like neck adjustment, intonation, and bridge height adjustment. Helping me change my life, encouraging me, helping in rebuilding me... I've spent a lot of time in the bass corner, and have seen my experience is not unique. Long live amazing small businesses! read more

Arrived at the store on a Saturday morning and was greeted immediately by several of the staff including a man named Ty. I showed him a picture of the electric guitar that I was interested in, and he guided me to the location of the guitar. I requested to borrow a pick, tuner, and strap. There was no delay in meeting my request. While I was tuning the guitar the high E string broke. I was told it was not my fault and a new string was quickly installed by another staff member. I asked to hear the guitar through an amplifier. Although Ty was busy, right away he got me set up with an amplifier. I played the guitar and decided to buy it. They put the guitar on hold while I went home to get a guitar for trade-in. I returned. I was given a good price for the trade-in guitar. I ended up with a brand new black and gold ESP LTD-1000 DELUXE, B-stock guitar having all the factory tags and removable protective film on the components. I see no defects and it plays, looks, and sounds great. Overall, my experience with the staff, products, and prices at Albuquerque Music Go Round was very nice, actually, better than ever. read more

Once upon a time in my youthier youth I tried to be a musician. Fourth grader me decided that I would be a rock star, although, I lacked almost any and all tone, pitch, and rhythm. Needless to say after two and a half years, I hated practicing, I couldn't read music, and I could still only play Celine Dion's, "My Heart Will Go On" in notes and definitely not in chords. I still lack any sort of musical talent unless you count scream singing "Karma Chameleon" in the car as a talent. If I were musically inclined though I would definitely check out Music Go Round. The staff is beyond excellent, knowledgable, and willing to go out on a limb to make their customers happy. Transactions are usually ended with a firm handshake, a smile, and a "it is such a pleasure to have you in today!" I'm sorry, but you just don't see that kind and level of customer service these days. It looks like they also have a HUGE selection of musical instruments, as well as Kazoos, in case you're trying to start out a little bit smaller and move towards more serious instruments. If you're looking for something though, I'm sure they have it, and what's even better is these are instruments that are getting a second chance at life. You can trade in your old drums for a new guitar, you can trade in your old guitar for a different guitar, you have so many options and it means that your old/used equipment can be removed from your closet and get put in the hands of someone who will use it all the time! How awesome is that!? read more

Music go around has a huge selection of new and used instruments, including guitars, violins, drums and much more! The staff does not appear to be interested in helping you unless you are going to.make a large purchase. I bought my first guitar, tuner and picks there. I wanted to buy a case but the guy was so busy that he really didn't make an effort to help soo didn't get one. I did buy a guitar stand for $10! Music Go Around offers reasonably price instruments and other upkeep items. Go check it out if you want a good deal on your musical needs! read more

I've been coming here for years, my band has played shows with some of the employees bands over the years and playing at a show or playing in store trying out new/used gear. they always treat you with respect and answer all your questions about gear. I've sold and bought guitars, pedals and amps there. They got layaway there which is real convenient for musicians who have to pinch there pennies from time to time. I've seen the staff help and pay attention to their customers, from the beginners to season players,(not like some other store down the street) Overall, Its my place to go,make it yours too. read more

Not a bad store but what they don't want you to know is most of the guitars sold as "Used" are actually factory seconds. These are new guitars that have flaws from the factory. I was in there last week and most of the guitars were this way. Not the most honest business practice for sure. read more

Mauricio "Mo" is the best! The prices are great, and it's nice to trade in and trade up. Unlike Guitar Center (that grossly mistreats their employees, which I have witnessed), the staff seems happy and are always helpful. The owner promotes local shows on his windows, which is very cool. I like that's it's locally owned, and that everyone who works there seems to really care about their fellow musicians. I never have a problem finding what I need there. read more

I just bought a beautiful Schecter C-4 bass with a flame maple top at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend stopping by, cause you really never know what treasures you might find (there is a JS Chrome Boy just begging to go home with somebody). read more

I've been a musician for over twenty years, and in that time I've often bought and sold at music go round locations across the u.s.- not the best of options for value in a trade, but convenient in a pinch. The manner in which I was treated by the Albuquerque music go round staff is deplorable. Three staff took thirty minutes to 'evaluate' my trade-ins. I was offered a low ball value (as expected). We ending up at a decent compromise. Then, a salesman 'tested' my amp and discovered the very defect I had already mentioned. He bellowed, "whoa!!" while looking my way, loud enough to alert the entire store. "What's that?" He called to me with a chuckle, shaking his head. Another thirty minutes later he approached me and said they were passing on the amp. He cited the issue described and he claimed the compressor was faulty. The latter was flat out wrong (it works fine) and the former he said "no problem" to before his dramatic presentation of what a faulty input sounds like. An hour was way too long to wait for the end result. I'd advise caution if you're interested in being treated with respect by any of the staff at this location. The others I interacted with were not friendly either. A lot of pomp and pride. I've seen it before. You run in to a fair share of folks fascinated by their own abilities and knowledge of gear, etc., at music stores. But this experience takes the cake for me. These guys are in need of customer service training. I'll never shop there again. I suggest you pass too. read more

Awesome store! The employees are always very helpful and kind! I love getting my instruments here because I always feel they have great prices and a lot of good inventory! We will always shop at Music Go Round! :) read more

The best guitar shopping in New Mexico hands down. I drive an hour from Santa Fe just to see what they've gotten in since my last visit. There were definitely more "gems" to be found 10-15 years ago (before eBay took over) but there are still cool guitars and good values here. Staff is always friendly. read more

I recommend this shop for finding just what you need and/or want for all your music needs. I was instantly greeted by friendly staff, they were knowledgeable and had a lot of fun talking with me and my husband and helping us find exactly what we needed! This is an absolute must stop, even if you just have a curiosity for picking up a new hobby and are being drawn to creating music, they can help you find your perfect fit. They sell several different instruments in several different styles, amps, cords, accessories, etc. They sell used and new items, with plenty of each to choose from to find what your looking for, which is perfect for beginners up to masters read more

one of the best places in albuquerque to spend your money. always has a really good selection and helpful staff, I love this spot!

ThIs place is way better than any of the other music stores in town. Most of the gear is used so you save a bunch of money right off the bat. I bought a used 4x10 guitar cabinet there a couple weeks ago. If I had gone to guitar center they would have charged me twice as much. Good value! read more

I have played guitar for more than 20 years. I own 14 of the things and a room full of studio rack equipment including things like a Mesa/Boogie Studio Pre and a Marshall JCM900 SL-X a full Yamaha electronic drum kit, and all sorts of stuff I don't use and wanted to get rid of. Too bad the dudes at Music Go Round were too busy stroking each other at the counter to bother with their customers. I saw a specific guitar on the web and went down there in the middle of the day with trade possibilities loaded in my car only to be blown off by the poseur boys at the counter. No one else was in the store. I went directly to the guitar and took it off the rack and played it, no one budged. I walked around looking for an amp to plug it in to, no one budged. I put the guitar back on the rack and walked out. I am damn tired of this kind of thing in Albuquerque. I've been out of this scene for 10 years and so far the only person worth a damn has been Kevin at Grumpy's guitars. Everyone else is too busy primping their hair or ripping on their dig-me licks to bother with anyone. I will not be back. read more
