Then several other store workers came over asking what I needed and if someone was helping me. My visit was excellent....everyone was very pleasant and helpful. They even handled my trade in Gibson SG in a very timely matter explaining to me every step. As far as the store its one of the biggest I've been in....super nice store. I cannot imagine not finding what you need. I'll be back soon!

A while back the nut cracked on my 1986 Guild D212 12-string acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, I'd no…read moreidea where to find somewhere to repair it, and the one lead I had turned out to be someone who'd just retired. So I stopped by The Music Shop when my travels brought me to the neighborhood to see if they had any leads. "Sure," said the young man at the counter. "Our manager does that." A couple of phone calls later, to make sure the guitar and I would arrive during his working hours, he was looking confidently and affectionately at my beloved Guild. A replacement nut leapt into his hand, he asked me about strings, gave me a price, and made a guess at how long it would take (which was wrong, but that's par for the course). Today I picked it up. My baby is back, looks better than I've ever made it look, and sounds wonderful. This wasn't anything resembling a challenging repair to a luthier - I know that - but my beloved Guild got real Tender Loving Care, and that's as good as it gets.

My daughter has taken Piano lesson here for several years now. It's a small family run business…read morethat they take the music industry seriously. Every year in the summer they have a recital at a public venue where each of the students if they chose to, can perform. My daughter loves her teacher, Joan, who also happens to be one of the owners. She sped through the early teaching book and now she pretty much learns anything she wants under Joan's guidance. It's a positive encouraging atmosphere which has given my daughter passion for playing. We never have to remind her to practice, in fact she's in the music room on the piano numerous times a day, she has a real love for the instrument which they've carefully nurtured. As well as lessons they have a wide range of musical literature, instruments, and services. I would highly recommend them for not just piano but for guitar, woodwind, strings, percussion and also voice based on the performances we see each year.

Rock, blues, pop, punk? He knows all of the genres and then some. I ask him about a song and he immediately bangs out the TABS. I'm having trouble with a chord or a passage or a technique and he shows me a bunch of alternative ways to do it. My enthusiasm starts to flag? He comes up with something to spark my interest.
