Being a total wino and loving to paint I don't know how i haven't been to one of these events yet. Now when I say paint I mean I buy little ceramic statues and birdhouses and paint them. I don't have any type of artistic talent so while I was excited to try I was nervous my picture would be ugly. No worries there ! Had a great experience. First off the place is super funky. So neat to look around and it's such a happy atmosphere. They have a decent sized drink list and also some food available if your hungry. The staff are incredible. The woman at the bar was very friendly and the rest of them walking around were helping us with more paint and cleaning up after us. The real treasure of this place is Vanessa. I was told she was the owner and I'm so glad she taught us. She is bubbly and happy and made us feel at ease and let us know we would make a great painting regardless of talent. And she was right. She walked us through every step and helped along the way. While I'm not a artist I sure felt like one. I love my painting and have it hung proudly in my kitchen. If your new to painting and are looking for a fun night out definetly check out Muse ! And bring me with you. I want to Go again. read more

Let me start by saying, my boyfriend and I are avid fans of the opportunity to learn how to paint. I have been here 3 times now, so I'm definitely a fan. My only suggestions for improvement are the food -- not so great... most of it seems microwaved and not very tasty. And the drinks -- not so great, either. A bigger beer selection is needed for those of us who can't stomach wine (hey, we can't all be ar-teests!). And after a few times coming here, I've heard the same introductory jokes a few times now -- it's kind of like the blue man group, you get the same thing every time. But, no major complaints. They are excellent at teaching art, which is their main selling point. I wouldn't come here just for the food/drinks, nor for the comedy. NOTE: like I said, I've been here 3 times despite those two things, so I'd say it's worth it! read more

I went to an outing with friends here for a wine glass painting night. The instructor was lighthearted and helpful, taking things slowly so we had plenty of time to do as we pleased. The wine glass pours were very generous which was awesome. They open a tab for you too so you can just wave the bartender over to your painting table to get another drink. The one gripe I had is the place is not roomy by any means and I personally think they overbook. My chair was basically touching the chair of the table behind me so nobody could get through. The real aisles were narrow as is, too... So a bit claustrophobic. But other than that, it's all good things! read more

Wow what a fun afternoon! Seven of us coworkers descended on Muse Providence and had a BLAST! The instructors are always in a great mood, laughing, joking around, and encouraging everyone. The music is fun and snacks are also good. I regularly go and always get great instruction and learn something new every time. I often paint something a little different (if not a lot different) from the scheduled painting, and I'm always encouraged and can get input as needed. read more

Worst customer service of all time. God forbid life happens and you're unable to make it. They won't reschedule your pre paid reservations or give credit for another day.... Update. I have emailed the email they responded with and still waiting on a response..... they still did not provide a store credit within the 30 minutes so my review stays as previous said. If you aren't 1000% sure going to be able to make the reservation, don't purchase because they will not make any accommodations read more

So. Much. Fun. I am not an artist. When I paint, it's a bedroom wall. The instructor takes you through, step by step how to bring your personal creation to life. There were many 'non-painters' at the event I attended and it looked like everyone was having a good time. Snacks, wine and beer are available for sale. Canvas, paint and brushes are provided. Just bring yourself and enjoy! read more

How have I not reviewed this place!?! I have gone to two paint nights here and I fully plan on going again! I always have so much fun. Being a bit of a perfectionist and slightly avant-garde in my own right, I rarely keep pace with the group. But I love that the instructors at the Muse not only mind divergence but actually encourage it. They are all very friendly and knowledgeable in assisting and giving out advice when it is sought out. The instructors are very positive when you are a little too hard on yourself #perfectioniststruggles and you end up walking out with a new sense of accomplishment along with a new masterpiece to don on your wall. The space was a little cramped and if you aren't paying attention you could dip your brush into your dixie sized wine cup (which may or may not have happened to me). Their food is mainly heated up hors d'oeuvre and finger foods. Which were pretty tasty, but not outstanding. It didn't bother me too much since I came here mainly for the experience of sippin' alcoholic beverages and painting. You don't have to be an expert to paint. Just come with an open mind, a set of ready-to-get-messy hands and find your Muse at the paintbar! read more

I have been to several of these drink and paint type of events and I have to say this one was the best! The fact that you are going into an art studio with a wine bar in the back is the perfect setting. The artist, Vanessa, was so energetic and really explained the techniques , she was fun and very positive! If you have no idea how to paint like me, you will still be totally fine, such a fun atmosphere! read more

Came here a while ago and totally forgot to review! Silly me! I have been to other paint bars so this was not a new experience for me, just a new location. I liked the intimacy of this location as well as the instructor. This class felt more personal than other locations I have been to due to the size. It was easy to hear the instructor and if/when you had a question, to get it answered was quick. I am not usually in this area, my friends thought it would be fun for an adventure down to Providence, so we did and it was a great time. read more

So much fun. Great instructors, crowd averaged in the mid twenties. My fiancé and I had an awesome time singing with our fellow painters, munching on kettle cooked chips and devouring an amazing pulled pork sandwich- all while attempting to paint a really pretty 4 Seasons picture. Music was a little towards the 'girls night out' side but we both still enjoyed the atmosphere, regardless. We will come back. read more

Dragged the boyfriend with me for the first time back in October and WOW what fun! He and I worked together to expand the scene onto both of our canvases (he's a smart cookie, and his half is better than mine). We had a younger guy as our instructor, and he did do great, I just wish maybe he and the other workers had gone around and helped a little more? But just a small comment. They had cider which was good for me, and they do have a few IPA's which was good for the boyfriend. We both did get some of their food which I thought was good but did take a while as the bartender/artist was also the cook, I think she said. We're headed back in a few weekends (and boyfriend is looking forward to it as well!) - it's a great time and I highly recommend it! read more

I've done like a million of these paint and wine things, but this place is one of the best ones I've been to. I love how they already put the names of the people who registered at the canvases so you don't have to worry about finding a seat after you finally find parking in the city. I also love their menu. I mean, cake pops? How can you go wrong? There is plenty of room to move around, unlike many paint and wine places I've been to. The instructor was friendly and played good music. Well done, Muse! read more

My first time ever doing a paint nite and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Our instructor was great, explained details very simply and encouraged creativity. Just wish there were a bit more breaks. I found myself trying to keep up with her, not her fault, just pressure I put on myself. There was also another instructor who worked at the bar but went around and helped those of us in need. They also gave very useful tips on how to fix things on our painting. At the end of the night you are given time to finish your painting to your liking, let it dry out decide if you even want it. They also serve food, nothing extravagant. We ordered the sampler which consisted of mozzarella sticks, mini hot dogs and spinach and feta triangles (our favorite). I will definitely do this again, I had an amazing time. read more

Muse Paintbar - My first painting...not bad at all. - Art Classes Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

Quite a wonderful experience and quaint little place snuggled in between multiple fine dining shindigs in Providence. The artists are incredibly friendly, talented and are very helpful when you decide to deviate from the original art piece, whether because of an artistic urge or inability to follow direction or the occasional arm twitch from not enough alcohol. The drinks are moderately priced for paintnites, however the food is really not that impressive, but I respect that they told me all of the stuff are pre-bought anyway. Overall, I had a great time painting the sky and the birds, and should the opportunity arise again to take a date out, I'd come back! read more

Terrible customer service!!!!! Called them to cancel due to feeling COVID-19 symptomatic after 2nd dose, explained my situation, apologized for the short notice, but was met with zero empathy and understanding. Instead I was told that there would be no refund. Wow....way to go!!!!!! read more

I really thought this was going to be a semi lame experience, but it turns out that it's a lot of fun. I went with two of my sisters, one older and one younger, and a best friend of mine. All of us found it to be really easy to follow along to, but also liked the freedom of choice we had with our paintings. We also walked out of the place really satisfied and happy with what we produced. Great activity to do with friends and family. read more

An amazing painting experience, even for those in my group who weren't as artistic! Instructors are kind and patient, and encourage artistic freedom, drinks were a little pricey but not terrible, and the value for the price was great! The event itself was great stress relief. My boyfriendand i are always trying to find new and different things to do on dates. We liked the idea of going to a painting bar after seeing Muse on a facebook link. Great place for a paint night, and excellent venue to host an event for a group! Wine prices are a little high. I didn't get to try any of their bites, but they had a decent number of options. We really enjoyed the painting lesson. I figured my picture was going to look awful. Darrel was super friendly and a great teacher. He was happy to help when I asked for it, and he first started with verbal recommendations. He asked before painting anything for me, which I appreciated. One of the other instructors just took my brush and started painting, which was a little frustrating (I just wanted advice and not hands-on help at that point, and he didn't explain much, but whatever). I was surprised by how good the painting came out. Sure, that's because I made Darrel help me with a lot of it, but I thought it would be a waste of money since I thought it would be so ugly. They really know how to make it accessible and how to make you successfully paint something not awful. That alone makes it worth it! I also liked that you could do your own thing (own color choices or design altogether). Since I have no artistic abilities that didn't even cross my mind, but a few others in the group appreciated the freedom. Definitely a great option for an event or girls night out. I definitely want to go back for a paint your pet night, but they always fill up super quickly! read more

What a great way to meet with friends and enjoy a great night of fun. The staff is fabulous and very patient with those of us who are not "true" painters. It was great to discover what talent we all have with a little instruction. Muse has a great bar and offers food, although we did not try any of their offerings. All materials were included...even the apron which was especially important for me! I would recommend this fun activity to everyone looking to have fun in a new and exciting way. read more

Planned a sisterly monthly meeting at MUSE and it we had such a grand time! Not only was it a good location but the venue itself was spacious. Beer & Wine was not included but that was no problem as the prices were pretty decent AND they actually served food! The instructor literally walked us through the painting. You automatically fell in love with her personality. Overall we left feeling like pro's! Soon as I got home I hung up my masterpiece and told everyone about my experience. I would highly recommend coming back to MUSE and look forward to doing so. Thank You! read more

Myself and two of my friends went to one of the paint nights this past weekend and all I can say is we absolutely LOVED IT!! Lauren was our painting instructor and she did a phenomenal job. She explained everything perfectly and made it very easy to follow along. Her instructions were thorough yet very easy to understand and follow through on. I personally have no art abilities what so ever, but with her step by step instructions I was able to do it and my painting came out very nice (if I do say so myself)! Another woman, Amy, walked around throughout our time there to check on us to make sure we were following along okay and she would also serve us drinks and food right at our painting table. Lauren and Amy were both friendly, nice, patient and made the experience a lot of fun! I highly recommend doing a paint night here! I had a blast and my friends and I definitely plan on coming back! read more

I am a terrible painter but went along with friends to Muse in Providence last Saturday night. I was part of a large group (not a private party) this past Friday night, and we were all looking forward to the evening, which was a birthday celebration. At 6pm, the night before, I received this email from Muse, "Unfortunately, we are having electrical issues in the back of the studio so we will not be able to serve/sell food or drinks. That being said, we will be providing you with takeout menus from local restaurants, should you want to order food. You're also welcome to bring in your own food. We will also be giving out one free non-alcoholic beverage to each painter (unfortunately, you aren't able to bring in any outside beverages, including alcohol). We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you soon!" What? A paintBAR not selling alcohol??? No, "we are sorry about the inconvenience and are giving you the option to cancel or reschedule for a full refund/credit". Now call me crazy, but I think many (majority?) go not only for the painting fun, but the BAR part- I know our group certainly did. Some more fun facts about the evening: "electrical issues" my arse. On site the explanation was, "we are in-between liquor licenses right now". Any guesses what the real story is? "We will be providing you with takeout menus from local restaurants". What this turned out to mean is that they put menus from the place next door on the counter which patrons could take upon themselves to walk over to place the order and then walk over to pick up the order. Gee, thanks, I hope it wasn't too burdensome on you Muse. And last but not least, I called Muse at 4pm, the day of our scheduled party, when I saw the email, to find out what could be done and got through to some sort of central operator. She only confirmed what was in the email but said, "the Studio Manager" will call you. I discovered Monday morning that Studio Manager left a message on my workplace voicemail at 6pm Friday (not the number I made the original reservation with). I am giving two stars rather than one because the on-site instructor and support staff were all very nice, but business integrity is ruling on this one. This was the opposite. To me, the sign of a customer-focused and forward thinking business is not necessarily how they operate when it is "business as usual", but how they handle adversity. On this scale, it was a fail, unfortunately. read more

The experience is a fun one especially if you are with friends and having a few glasses of vino,,,,The instructor asked how many people were new to this and many raised their hands...I felt the instructor, although knowledgeable, was very quick in her instruction, especially for those who are new to this.. After some one on one help wit the first part of the painting I found myself enjoying the class and liking my result...My only suggestion is for the instructor to realize that people need a blow by blow instruction....
