So if you end up buying a new release comic then the cardboard back and plastic bag are 50 cents extra. That's handy to know because they're not going to post that in with the comics section. Missoula has a small populous and an even smaller niche community for comics and gaming. We do our best to support local business. However, some businesses aren't able to keep up with customer demand. I have been a consumer at this establishment intermittently at best. The selection is sparse for comics and and gaming. Comic books section is mostly limited to graphic novels potentially newest small selection of issues of modern titles. Back issues are limited only to high dollar issues or graphic novels. Gaming is limited to small selections from some larger title games (Warhammer and D&D for example). Popular items have a limited quantity, usually restricted to one on shelf if it is present. Placing an order for more is possible, however, it would be quicker and sometimes more economical to order through an online supplier. There is the offering of open gaming, however, this is in a completely separate establishment and with the harsh climate that is Montana, makes wanting to shop and game at the same establishment more desirable. The need to make customers transit across any distance through snow and ice creates a potential safety hazard for even their most loyal customers, much less the casual customer or gamer. The store owner has been confrontational on more than one occasion with customers which does not present a good face to the public. Sincerely hope that improvements can be made and the store can turn around and become a shining beacon of the Montana local gaming and comic community. I was just told to leave the store for not wearing a mask. The problem is that the CDC's patent for the SARS-CoV bioweapon indicates it is 100 nanos (United States Patent 7,220,852 and Control Number 10/822,904). No mask available to the public will stop that. The clerk was wearing a mask that would not even stop the smell of a fart. I was religiously discriminated against for not wearing a spell component because I do not practice magic. read more

Awesome store! A must if you're looking into comics, card games, board games or anything of the type. It's my go to store for everything comics or Magic: The Gathering. The staff is incredible and very welcoming. They're very knowledgeable about everything in the store and always greet you with a smile. It's a well put together establishment and is run by a great owner. Overall, you MUST visit the shop if you have something you need or if you are looking for a new game or hobby. Highly recommend and I visit often. They'd love to introduce you to a whole new world of games and products. Go! read more

I think most people who consider buying a board game think, hey I'll go to Target and pick one up but the board games in box stores and such are the same old tired titles with little challenge and generally they are designed to play with a 6-year old. If you want to have a really challenging and engaging game night with your older kids then MUSE or a game store like it near you is where you should go. We just bought a new game in Redding just before our road trip to Missoula but forgot to pack our game so we stopped by MUSE and got a new one, Eldritch Horror. (The game at home is Mice and Mystics.) For a small store MUSE has a very good selection of quality games as well as a big selection of various card games, minatures, sci-fi/fantasy toys, comics, etc. I would rate this store a 5 if it was larger because I'm sort of greedy that way and love as large a selection as I can get but for a small town I suppose this store is the ideal size. In addition to the game we bought duel decks for Magic the Gathering. My son played Magic once at school recently and none of us really know how to "play" but we got great advice from the Bearded One at the counter and he set us on our way. We've played about 15 games of Magic since our purchase a couple days ago. I also want to make another plug for stores like MUSE - their products all lead kids into more reading, creative play and team/ cooperative play. Parents who think this stuff is weird should really give it a chance, anything that makes your kid a more avid reader has to be a good thing. read more

One of the few comic shops in Montana that actually has a decent selection of comics. They don't have many back issues, which is understandable considering the size of the store. Also, compared to the shop in Bozeman, this place is piled high with comics so I'm happy with it. They also have quite a few board games and some pretty cool variant comics. read more

I used to shop there but after many years of watching the quality of service drop till a comic book fan is treated like a piece of garbage. I feel they need to stop dealing in comic books since they are 98% focused on gamers. I have seen them act like a older comic book fan is a hindrance to their business. I have worked for Mile High Comics and a few smaller comic book stroes that never made me feel like this store has done, nor have I ever treated a customer that way. read more
