I liked her when I first talked to her on the phone and even more in person. She is very down to earth and human, and her experience and advice was helpful and sound. The Durango area is very 'local' when it comes to something as sensitive as therapy and to be honest I didn't like alot of the other therapists I spoke to. I guess I will just be honest and say that I found some of them a little cliquey. I'm sorry, but there it is. Kathleen is independent and knowledgeable and I valued her insight and support. Alot of what good therapy is, is having a healthy relationship in which to be yourself and voice your fears and concerns without criticism or control. We all have to find our own way and develop a strong trust in our own intuition. I felt that Kathleen helped me to do that, and I appreciated her time. No one is perfect, and that's not the point. Honesty, sincerity and safe connection are where it's at. I definitely got that with her, and always felt safe and supported.

In my time here I witnessed 2 suicide attempts, one where staff were negligent leaving knives around. If your child is struggling you don't ship them off in the woods with a bunch or strangers who know nothing. All wilderness programs should be shut down worldwide.

My daughter was experiencing deep depression and anxiety - outpatient therapy was having very little impact on her. She decided to try it and in hopes that she would have a reset.
