Aweful service!!! It turned out my venue wouldn't allow outside catering. I told Murray and Mikes and they refused to return my advance as they said they would. They claimed to have spent the money and was very rude to my family. Also it turned out they knew before they took my money that my venue wouldn't allow them to cater and they still took the money! Very dishonest and added stress during our wedding time. Never got my money back! Do not trust Murray and Mikes!!!! read more

Just finished my reception with Murray and Mikes catering and my experience was definitely a poor one. Aside from Murray being rude in general, he is not very good at planning or customer service. He was exceptionally poor at communicating with me. He didn't speak to me for the last month and a half before the wedding and said he accidentally blocked my number. Once he did talk to us it was an unorganized series of unprofessional communications that resulted in everything being thrown together last minute. He repeatedly forgot things he had told me were included and dropped The ball several times. The worst part however was when I met him and he immediately started using racial slurs and very offensive language. The way we were treated was completely uncalled for and not ok in any setting. I do not recommend anyone work with Murray and I never heard anything from Mike. The event came together and we have had a nice day but it was not due to his efforts. I really wish these were not issues I had to deal with on my wedding day and will definitely never use him again or be associated with the sun and sand resort and any of his endevours. read more

I wish I could say they were great but they weren't. First as the father of the Bride I was being called by the photographer and wanted to bring a drink with me so to elude the long line I went around a staircase ( a house on the beech we rented ) to go from the back to the bar and was told by the owner of the Catering company NO you have to wait in line and when I explained who I was and how I was needed he said I don't care you have to wait in line. Not only was he rude to me but afterwards I found out he was rude to many of my guests as well. There was supposed to be a photo booth but they showed up late, didn't have paper for the printer and wanted to set up upstairs away from my guests, at that point it was too late to even bother so they left. The food was good which is why I gave them any stars. I spoke with someone else who said they cancelled them a month before their wedding because of rudeness and not being able to get them to respond to calls and e-mails. Now it's three weeks after the Wedding and we are still waiting for the refund of the photo booth. read more

I had planned on using Murray and Mike's to do the catering, cake, DJ, and photo booth for my October wedding. I was very excited since it was a one stop shop and I thought it would make everything so much easier. Unfortunately I was very wrong. Between January and July I asked Murray 3 questions. To get an answer for each of those 3 questions it took a minimum of 2 weeks. I would send and email, wait a few days for a response, nothing. Send a text (Murray said it was the best form of communication), wait a few days, no response. Call and leave a voicemail. He would normally call back to then say he was busy running into a store or something and that he would call back but never would. So the email/text/call process would start all over. Eventually, I would get an answer but not after being asked if I was sure I wanted to get married because he was going through a divorce and it sucked. By the 3rd question, which was in regards to setting up a cake tasting, I was so frustrated with trying to get a hold of him that my mom decided to step in and call. He told her that my wedding was 3 months out so there was plenty of time and if this was stressing me out how was I going to handle marriage. A few days after this I decided that Murray (I've never spoken to Mike besides at the initial meeting) and I were not a good fit. He was incredibly unprofessional and his comments crossed a line. My dad called to tell Murray that we were no longer going to use Murray and Mikes and he said fine and that we didn't know what we were going to be missing and he would call my dad about refunding our deposit the next day because he was out of town. This was 3 months ago....my dad, myself and my fiance have all called, emailed and text Murray and he is blatantly ignoring us. It has become such an issue that we are now involving a lawyer and I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. So to all who are considering using Murray and Mike's Catering, BEWARE! read more
