It's not as good as it seems. I can get better and cheaper stake at the pub... It was a waist of $$ and not really kid friendly.

I absolutely LOVED the salad, however, it was so big that I had to ask for them to box some up for leftovers later tonight. I didn't get a photo of the burger- it was big too! I think it was a bit too juicy though as it started to fall apart when he was eating it. The food arrived quickly, and the servers were great. They were quick to refill the soft drinks too- which was much appreciated as the refills are free.

Food is usually pretty good here. Range and variety are not. But I guess it is a steakhouse. The service at times can be delayed. And you can't make bookings for a table of any less than 10. So during peak or busy times the wait can be dreadful. Being a steakhouse the differing cuts of meat and especially how you want it done should be down to precision fine art. Here it isn't always the case. There have been a few times where the meat has been over or under done. Bloody apprentices. Now I'm not a judge on MKR, but I do know the difference between medium rare and charcoal. However, when this has happened, they're always happy to admit the mistake and correct it. Usually a freebie doesn't go a stray right about now, as the rest of table has their meal, and one person is left out. I guess you can't ask for much more than that. One of the best things on the menu isn't actually on the menu. The honey wheat loaf, slightly warmed, with the whipped butter is always a must for me. What can I say, simple things, yada yada.. Enjoy.

Our group of four arrived on 14 August at 6:30 PM (TABLE ACCOUNT 2 - Id/Check 219771). Initially, we were greeted by the maître d', who was genuinely welcoming and friendly. He seated us and assured us a waitress would be right with us. That was the last bit of decent service we received from the main staff. We sat there for 10 full minutes being completely ignored. Finally, a man in a blue long-sleeve shirt casually walked past, glanced at our table, and tried to actively pretend we didn't exist. We managed to catch his attention to ask for service, only to be met with a look of pure displeasure and a dismissive, "Hold on." Frankly, we should have taken that as our cue to walk out right then and there, saving ourselves from the blatant white supremacy and racism that defined the rest of our night. This staff member was Max, the sommelier, and his behavior was absolutely repulsive. Even though we smiled and initiated friendliness, he treated us with hostile racism. He served us with zero emotion, no smile, and literally walked away in the middle of us trying to thank him for explaining the menu. We tried giving him the benefit of the doubt, thinking he was just having a bad day. However, we then watched him turn around and shower the surrounding tables, which exclusively seated Caucasian guests with his brightest smiles and warmest hospitality. He was also laughing away with his other Caucasian colleagues. The contrast was sickening. The disrespect escalated when we tried to order a bottle of wine. Max made a rude, condescending remark, snapping that if we couldn't finish the bottle, we wouldn't be allowed to take it home. When we asked for just a few minutes to consider our options, he just walked off on us. As paying guests, we were left wondering what we did wrong by supporting this restaurant, despite the fact that we speak perfect English and navigate the Western world with ease. No paying customer should ever be made to feel like a second-class citizen when expecting hospitality. During our meal we took a quick look at past Google reviews only to realise that this isn't an isolated incident, multiple other Asian guests have flagged this establishment for racism against Asians. This vile behavior is an ongoing pattern that the management team is clearly perfectly fine with. It is absolutely disgusting to face this level of discrimination today. The only saving grace of the entire evening was Paul, a Thai waiter, who took over our service. He was the most attentive, warm, and professional server we could have asked for, and he single-handedly saved the night from being an absolute demeaning disaster. It is a massive shame that the restaurant's reputation has to suffer because of a racist like Max, especially since our group was prepared to splurge on an expensive meal. While the food itself was decent, the service makes this place entirely worthless of any Michelin star accolades. If a Michelin mystery reviewer ever visits this establishment as an Asian, Max will single-handedly destroy Chophouse's reputation. Management needs to fix this immediately.

She recommended two wines and I'm not sure I got the right one in the end but it was enjoyable. I went with the suggestions she made rather than my regular choices and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. She even suggested I do half/half on the sides so that I could try two. For dessert, she recommended the fudge but said the macadamia cookie was popular. I'm a sucker for a warm cookie and some vanilla ice cream so I got the cookie. It was delicious. The place is quiet and a bit dim. It felt like being in a Rathskeller or inside a mushroom under the sea. I'd come again.

They also have a store in Qld and a couple of express stores. We visited Hurricanes at their Brighton Le Sands location. Brighton Le Sands is one of the lesser known waterfront dining areas in Sydney. Hurricanes has a prime spot there, right on the waters edge, boasting views of our historical Botany Bay. It also has views of the airport and aeronautical enthusiasts can enjoy planes taking off over the bay. It is spacious venue with floor to ceiling glass to take advantage of the views. It is extremely large with plenty of tables and 2 bars and open plan so you could easily host a large party and they are booked up with 350 people for New Years Eve. We arrived right on noon and it was just opening. We were promptly taken to our table, right at the windows with a lovely outlook. We perused the menu and staff updated us with the daily specials. Hurricanes are famous for their ribs and steaks and they use a unique basting sauce to provide a lovely flavour to their meats. Meat cuts are all halal certified from their suppliers and can have no sauce upon request. They also offer plenty of steaks on the menu, salads and a range of appetisers too. They may not be known first and foremost as a seafood restaurant, but there's plenty of seafood options too. Our visit to Hurricane's saw us try some of these seafood options, beginning with the scallops. Perfectly cooked, the scallops were served in the open shell, atop sweet potato purée, resembling the look of roe. We thoroughly enjoyed this start to the menu. Following on from this, we ordered one of the specials, the grilled whole barramundi. It was soft and flaky, with the flesh falling from the bone. We enjoyed this with lemon and a side salad. We couldn't go past ordering a steak, which Hurricanes are notorious for. There's numerous meats and cuts to select from. Whether it be the rump, strip stirloin, fillet tenderloin or T bone, you will find your perfect match. Wagyu, dry aged or long fed beef, Hurricanes sure know their meats. We went for the dry aged beef, aged for 21 days, served as a strip loin on the bone (400g), the flavour was lovely and it was cooked spot on to our request. Meats come with your choice of fries, salad or baked potato and you can order a sauce to accompany it. Hurricanes also serve other main menu items like beef cheeks, lamb cutlets, pork knuckle, grilled chicken, burgers and more. There's also combo deals like steak and ribs or meat or seafood platters. There's desserts and cocktails to top off your dining experience. The menu is certainly extremely approachable so we imagine it would satisfy any dining party.

Its close to the pub which only locals stick too & is also really close to the well known Mortdale Bike shed. People probably not aware of this place cause its only open from 12pm on fridays & Saturdays and every other day is open fron 5pm. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you notice all the old school Fire station memorabilia hung up all over the walls :)!! So the the name Fire house Grill is the perfect name for this place :). Was here at the restaurant for a mother's day dinner with the family to beat the hustle & bustle rush of the real mothers day tomorrow :)!! We ordered a mixed entrée with, ribs off the bone, tasty pork belly with a creamy slaw topping, king prawns with a crumbed cheese coating, haloumi cheese, salad with 2 dipping sauces (garlic & tzatziki). For dinner majority had fillet mignone with chips salad and dipping sauce of your choice, i had a oven roasted duck with a tasty salad and mum had the braised beef cheek which tasted a bit over cooked and dry byt all the other maibs were very nice :)!! For dessert 2 people had the mango creme Bruleé which was outstanding, my sister had a perfection sticky date pudding which is never served big enough to satisfy your needs lol & i had a freesh fruit & Cheese platter with a peppermint tea.. the perfect tasty end to a nice dinner night out with the family :)!! Really enjoyed dining at this place.. been here about 4 times now and would recommend it to anyone i know .. and must mention again that while waiting for your food to come out and if you weren't conversing it was really nice to stare around the restaurant & study all the fire house memorabilia they had to offer :)
