Steven is amazing at his job. I've been going as needed for over a year (maybe two?), and I can…read morereally tell a difference in my anxiety levels when I'm working with him. Acupuncture here is 100 percent worth your time and effort. I see some comments that Steven is rude. He's just a really quiet guy, and I think people misunderstand that. I'm late everywhere. Have been late several times, which I know is rude, but he's been very patient with me. Also squeezed my sister in with no notice, day of, when I just turned up with her in tow. He's a nice guy, good at his job, and I really cannot recommend him enough.

So, let me start off by saying that I couldn't tell you how well Steven Vasilakis is at…read moreadministrating acupuncture because I didn't even get that far on my first visit. I have been getting acupuncture done for the last 3 years at least twice a month. In the last year in a half we moved out to Plainfield from the city where I would normally get treatments. Needless to say the drive had become a hassle. I had another appointment scheduled where I normally go in 3 weeks but I had just pulled a muscle in my lower back on Wednesday and couldn't get in at the normal place I go. My wife had just bought a groupon to see Steven Vasilakis because it was right down the street and she was tired of the drive out to our regular place in the city. She gifted me a groupon because I was in pain and I could get in on Saturday. I figured I'd give it a try and if it went well great, I'll have a place that's 7 minutes away instead of commuting into the city twice a month. She made an appoint for me at 9am and one for herself at noon. We both received email confirmation that our appointments were set. Today (Saturday) comes along I show up for my appointment at 9am and Dr. Jeff Neuman (who was very nice and professional) informed me that Steven's first appoint wasn't until 10:30 and that my appointment wasn't until 11am and that my wife's appointment was at 11:30 am instead of noon. I thought it was weird but hey, mistakes happen and I live rather close, no big deal I'll just come back. I show up at 11am and check in with Steven who was sitting behind the desk. I told him my name and that I had an appointment. He asks me if I was the person who was there earlier? I said that I was and he proceeds to tell me that my 9am appointment was rescheduled (inferring that it was not his fault). Like I said before mistakes happen no big deal. I was like "yeah I don't know what happened there" with a laugh. He then got a little bit of an attitude and says to me "your wife texted me and told me to change your appointment so you could both come in at 11am". Now I'm really confused to say the least because my wife made the appointments on line. I told Steven that's really weird because she made the appointments on line and why would she have your cell phone number since this would be the first time coming here for both of us? Besides I have the email confirmation and tried to show him. He then gives me a smirk and tells me with an attitude that he has text message and can show me. I said please do and proceed to tell him my wife's phone number. As he looks at the text and then asks me if my wife's name is Lisa. I said no that's not her. He got a perplexed look and then said there must of been a mix up. Hands me paper work to fill out and said he can have me in and out rather quickly and leaves to ready the room. I take the paperwork to start to fill out and I'm just standing there thinking, this guy made the mistake, gives me attitude about it, I've been inconvenienced and had to rearrange something else and he doesn't even apologize for it? I decided that this is not the kind of small businesses I want to support. As he's coming out from readying the room Lisa and her husband are walking in the door (the couple he confused me with). I told Steven that I had changed my mind because of the way he acted, the confusion, the inconvenience and not to even apologize. Now mind you there's another couple standing there, so all of a sudden he's sweet as pie and said he did apologize. I told him that he didn't , not once and that I was leaving. Again, no apology other than that he claimed he already did. He said "that's fine and that I could get my money back from groupon". I left, needless to say my wife canceled her appointment. Steven, I hope you read this review and learn from it. People who are coming to you are customers. They can pay other people to perform acupuncture. Service and respect go a long way. My wife has TMJ and gets acupuncture done 3 or 4 times a month along with a regular cupping session. I get acupuncture done at twice a month. If you hadn't had an attitude you probably would of had two new regular clients. This is my experience. Like I said in the beginning, I can't tell you if Steven is good at what he does. I can tell you that his customer service is lacking and he has an attitude problem.
