I called Murduff's this morning, and was treated truly well. I asked if I could bring in some diamonds to get a ball park of what they work. Having been a Jeweler/ metalsmith for 50 years, I realize that this is not the call you want. I went in, (without an appt.) and had my diamonds looked at, and found out exactly what they were, how much they were worth on the open market, and had a great exchange with the person I talked with. Some of it was brutal truth, but given/delivered in a very realistic and personal manner. -Very good honest and friendly people. Go there! read more

I was referred to "Monica," by a friend. I e-mailed the jeweler and secured an appointment with her this morning. I waited 3 wks., in order to meet with her. My fiancé & I showed up on time and waited over 30 minutes for her to finish up with a "walk-in." She was still working with the other customer, when we left. She never acknowledged us. It should be noted that other personnel of the jeweler offered us assistance. We were specifically there to see Monica, because of the referral/appointment. We were in the market to buy wedding bands and an engagement setting. We were very disappointed by this experience. read more

I went to Murduff's (I've been a repeat customer for years). I had several pieces that needed work. Murduff's quoted prices, which changed 3x. When I checked in a few days later with a question, I was told that one of the charges wasn't included and the cost would be even higher after we had agreed on a price and they wrote up a bill. This was the third price change. It felt very shady and I decided to withdraw my jewelry and bring it elsewhere. I took all my pieces to another jeweler in W Springfield who has been in business for 30 years with lots of glowing reviews and 5 star feedback. Every piece was 50% less than what was going to be the (maybe final) cost at Murduff's. I never thought I'd stop being a patron at Murduff's. It's upsetting to end my relationship with this store after decades. I really hope they consider doing business differently. They were always my go-to. read more

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Murduff's!!! We walked in with some high level ideas of the type of piece we were looking for but wanted to consult with knowledgeable jewelers. Maddy was so incredibly kind and generous - she spent 1.5 hours (!!!) patiently bringing out samples of jewelry so we could get a better idea of what we wanted and how it would look in person and walking us through the pros and cons of various types of jewelry settings. I knew I wanted something beautiful and delicate but figured it would be challenging to find something delicate with integrity to keep the gems secure - Maddy pulled out the most beautiful, dainty piece and it was perfect. I'd spent so long looking for a piece I figured it was impossible but Murduff's has fantastic inventory and a great selection. I took a pair of antique family earrings to be fixed, one of the diamonds had come loose and fallen out - Murduff's did a sloppy job of repairing it. They put the diamond back in with the wrong side facing it, the edges are crusted with glue and the clarity now also terrible. Likewise they polished the second earring with the result that the other diamond is now also loose. Do not trust them with repairs or things of age. read more

This is the only jewelry store I'll ever go to. Their selection is beautiful and accommodates all price ranges, but their expertise, kindness, and service are like nothing I've ever seen. Before I'd ever bought anything there, I'd come in for a $10 watch battery from time to time. They always treated me as if I were there for an heirloom diamond. Then, when I finally did buy some earrings for my wife, they helped me find a pair she truly loves. Today, 2 years later, I went back to have them repaired (the damage was our doing), and they remembered the earrings and our conversation about them from so long ago. read more

I brought two rings for fixing. They found and mounted two small pearls as requested. The other ring, made of an unidentified material, needed to be re-sized. There was a mistake somewhere along the way and it didn't fit. Not only were they accommodating, but having fixed it, they did all that work without charge! Great store! Everything is high quality and they have a great selection. The one time something did break, they fixed it free of charge. A great place to buy gifts as some of the pieces are very affordable and the selection can't be beat. A much better experience than you'll get at a chain store at the mall.
