It's your standard Esso really with loads of choccy, crisps, sandwiches and magazines (particularly those aimed at the lonely trucker). The thing that sets it apart from the rest is its 24hr opening times. With many student halls dotted about and many students with rumbling tummies at 5am - this is good to know.
The 24hour opening is very helpful for some late night (or early morning, depending on how you look…read moreat it!) snacking. But on a more practical sense it is also very helpful in terms of getting petrol 24/7. Everyone has those moments, be it if you are the designated driver one night, or your coming back from visiting your parents and you realise your tank is in danger of drying up! 24 hour stations like this are un-sung lifesavers!

They do still have the manned booths here, but either way its quick and the most important part for me is that this is by far the cheapest petrol station I can find. Wrington Motors
Wrington Motors are completely incompetent…read more My vehicle developed a fault whilst having an MOT at Wrington motors. They called to tell me my vehicle was broken and would need to be kept overnight, they then called me at the end of the next day to say that they had diagnosed the fault and that it was "Faulty internals in the injection pump" and that i would need a new injection pump. I wanted a garage that i trust to take a look as i had a mistrust of their diagnosis so I went to collect the vehicle from them and they wanted to charge me over £30 for 30mins labour for diagnosing the fault that had occurred whilst in their care! (needless to say i refused) Since then i had a different garage have a look at my vehicle, they quickly diagnosed that air was leaking into the fuel lines somewhere. Within 10 minutes my vehicle was running again and the 'fuel filter' was found to be the problem. A replacement fuel filter was fitted and the problem was gone. Wrington motors wanted to quote me for an injection pump which would have cost in the region of £1500 + labour The fuel filter cost £8. Never, ever, under any circumstances take your vehicle to this garage. In my opinion and that of the garage that fixed my vehicle they are completely incompetent for being unable to diagnose such a simple problem. Let me say that again. INCOMPETENT!

Are they more expensive than an independent? Probably. But for peace of mind, I will never go anywhere else. And since what the independent did could have resulted in injury or worse, peace of mind is a lot more important than money! Having said that, the people at Trowbridge Platinum Renault are helpful and polite, and if there's any other bits that need doing while they're servicing the car, they will ask first, rather than tell you about it afterwards. When we lived in London we went to the best independent Fiat garage in the whole world (Franco Motors in Houslow). But since moving to the west, and buying a Renault, I have discovered that not every independent is as honest and thorough as Franco's!
