These gardens are absolutely beautiful! The grounds are so well kept, with many different types of flowers. There is a cute ice cream shop on-site, and it is right next to the river walk as well. This garden is stunning! Much larger than I had originally expected as well. Brochures are posted near entrances and around the gardens and have a very easy to view map. There are rest rooms and a bubbler located more than halfway through if you start on one end. Lots of beaches throughout if you need to rest, or just want to take it all in. I feel like this gorgeous garden should cost $20 to get in. I visited at the end of July and it looked like most of the flowers were in peak. The park at sunset had such beautiful light. This is so worth a stop if you're visiting St. Cloud or passing through on I-94. read more

Located on the shores of the Mississippi River, munsinger gardens has an immense display of flower beds.The amazing thing about the gardens are that the gardens are open till 10pm! Also the view of the Mississippi River with the quiet setting was peaceful and relaxing. Gorgeous, expansive gardens that have tons of things to look at! They have gardens that are all one color flower: white, purple, red, etc. Tons of phenomenal fountains and water features to look at, too. There's swings to sit on down along the river, which had a much welcomed breeze as well. There's a quaint little gift shop and benches throughout the gardens to sit, rest, and admire the scenery. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, it's FREE! Take some time and drive up to St Cloud for this place alone. Well worth the trip! read more

One of my top 2 places to "get away" in the St Cloud area. The flowers and landscaping are gorgeous. When you're walking through Munsinger Gardens you feel at times that you're in a magical world. One area that is usually overlooked is the area with the peacocks. It's located on the far left side of the lower garden area by the bridge. They're so interesting to watch. There's even a white one that's so majestic. You can walk along the river and sit and swing while viewing the gorgeous river. There's even an inlet area where ducks like to gather. read more

A fun place to check out while in St. Cloud. Lots of flowers and plants to enjoy. Parking is plenty on the street. There is a paved path so it's easy for senior citizens + moms with strollers. My sister told me that the story behind this place was: it was built by a man who had a wife who loved flowers but was no longer able to get out and tend to her own garden. So he bought the land across the street and had it turned into a massive flower garden so she could look out at it every day. THAT is one of the sweetest things I've ever heard. You should go visit just because of that! There's a nice gift shop with lots of fun gifts! Personalized goodies for the kids along with ice cream treats and cold beverages. Head down to the bottom to stop and relax, watch the river flow by, smell the lilacs and just enjoy the great outdoors. There are places to sit along the way. There are also pavilions that offer some shade. Something to do if you just wanna be outside and get some fresh air. read more

Easily one of the prettiest places I've been, and I've visited a lot of gardens and national parks so that is saying something! It's free and lovely. I enjoyed a slow stroll through all of it and could not believe the number of butterflies I spotted. This is actually known as the Munsinger Clemens Botanical Society, as there are two separate (and adjacent) gardens. The Munsinger Gardens have 14 acres and the Clemens Gardens have 7 acres. Note that the gardens are open from spring to fall and from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. every day (we visited the gardens early this afternoon). There's no admission fee, although certainly donations are gratefully accepted. The Munsinger Gardens are much more informal and they were constructed by the WPA back in the 1930s. We weren't real impressed by those gardens, but we really liked the Clemens Gardens. A couple who lived across the street (Bill & Virginia Clemens) bought the land and donated it to the city's Parks Dept. Virginia Clemens battled MS for more than 40 years and she died in 1998. Her husband funded the establishment and maintenance of the gardens....there are several gardens (amazingly, the rose garden is still in bloom at this time of year) and also several pretty fountains. Most special of all is a beautiful life-size bronze statue of Bill and Virginia Clemens. Lastly, there's a small gift shop with some nice items (the friendly woman working there told me it will soon close for the season). read more

There is a wedding site in the lower gardens which can be reserved. These numerous gardens and river side landscape have the ability to transport the mind and body into a blissful and medatative experience nothing short of awe inspiring. My Mother and I started in the rose gardens where it seemed as if hundreds of varietals of the flower sported a diverse medley of colors, shapes, and aromas. The park is sprinkled with fountains, benches, spots for lounging, and swings which parallel the river front. The diversity and assortment of the collections are stunning. There is a gift shop which sells collectables with a strong representation of local and regional merchandise. I saw frozen treats and a deck with tables and chairs over looking the lower half of the park which seemed like an enjoyable place to converse or simply enjoy the aesthetic pleasures. I strongly recommend visiting this retreat from the city. St. Cloud should be proud of being able to offer such a delightful little haven for it's residents and guests. read more

Nice place to stroll around on an evening for a date. Many of the roses have signs to indicate the breed of rose. If there is a favorite you could try to find in a store to plant in your own garden. Great walking paths along the river with benches and swings to stop and enjoy the beauty of the gardens. The walking paths around the garden curve and meander so it is meant for a slow walk with your loved ones. The path along the river leads to the dam in Riverside park. Whether you live in the area or are just passing through, they're a great place for a date, for spending time relaxing, for watching the river flow by, or seeing flowers/roses. Among the sights are a variety of European-inspired water fountains, the Rose garden, some exotic birds (peacocks), the Mississippi River, and flowers of every type. During the summer, there is a free concert series put on here usually on Sunday afternoons. An art fair is also usually held at the Gardens annually. Beautiful gardens right on the banks of the Mississippi. They have swinging chairs on the river if you want to enjoy the view. The gardens are all tended by volunteers and are really gorgeous. This place is absolutely beautiful! I had some time to kill before I needed to tutor some students over on the SCSU campus and saw this place from river bank. I made my way across the river bridge and was welcomed to beautifully manicured gardens; with quant walking paths leading you through the rows and rows of flowers/plants it really takes you to another place (I felt that I was transported out of St. Cloud and into a tropical oasis). The grounds also had many fountains, benches, and were on the banks of the good old Mississippi River. I wish I would have known about this place earlier, as I would have made it a frequent stop.
