This Turkish (Middle Eastern) take away restaurant first opened its doors on Saturday 21st of August 2010. My first reaction/thought of this place is, "Why is it located in such a very bad location?"
If for some reason you lose your phone and have a bad sense of direction, forget about trying to find this place because its sandwiched between a self serve car wash and BP petrol station, just as you turn in. The BP petrol station alone makes this places hard to find with its big signs and flashy colours.
Since this place open til late, I had the pleasure of eating their lamb Kebab a few times in the evenings and late nights. I bought a Small Lamb Kebab pack that came with:
Kebab, which does not fall apart like other kebabs in other restaurants. The better its stuck together the less mess you'd have to clean up after.
Hot chips with amazing seasoning which is fried when ordering. I found to be great as it keeps that freshly fried hotness and that sound we all love to hear on the TV when that special someone bites into a nicely baked/fried chip.
Can Soft Drink
Buying in the afternoon/late, early evenings are great as the kebab are still hot by the time I get home to eat after a 15-25min drive(during peak hour after work).
Buying during the late trade was another story! I wanted to see if there would be a difference in quality from the start of the day trade running til its last few hours of trade. 3:30am I get in and ordered the same small pack. Everything was great but what I've noticed was that the Kebab, the main meal had cooled down by the time I got home. No cars on the road, in the middle of early morning? What's going on here? Why is it that the quality of food dropped from being great in the morning to the point that someone will get food poisoning? I couldn't finish it as I was cautious to not get food poison.
Being a well known kebab place which its main consumers are buying during the night/early morning it gets full majority of the weekends.
What I've also noticed is their food handing hygiene. When preparing food in front of customers, wearing food grade gloves is a must which none of the employees and the owners themselves didn't have on and rings on fingers weren't taken off. I don't know where their fingers have been and being the consumer, its not nice to see all this happening right in front of my eyes.
Prices are similar with other Kebab restaurants, give or take a dollar or 3.
In conclusion,
The best Kebab and hot chips I've had, but the reason I gave it 3 stars out of 5 is due to Food Handling hygiene which is a big concern with me( it can being in Food Safety inspectors/auditors) plus how they are maintaining their meat temperature after being cooked(Food poisoning is dangerous) and location.
You know those signs that say "Beware"? Well with this restaurant it would be
