I've not had a chance to speak of the outdoor amenities until now. And what might be those outdoor parking lot amenities be? Well they are three new-ish Blink machines! OK, she's gone around the bend this time for sure. No, no stick with me! Blink machines are outdoor chargers for all-electric cars (and for hybrids). You have to apply for the card and it works like a credit card at the gas pump. It's a little more complex than that, but the Blink card and a guardian angel saved Ron and I a miserable afternoon after going up to Multnomah Falls and then running out of charge. Our dear guardian angel charged up a Blink machine for us and saved the day. This is a great place to have the Blink machines because this library is located near the freeway entrances. It's just plain a relief for electric car owners to have them there. I'm trying to do my part to get the word out. Thanks so much Multnomah County Library system for going above and beyond the call of duty!

The people here look very focused on their work. I saw many people on the computers and lots of kids around, which made it feel like such a lovely, welcoming space to be.

I was on my way to Sayler's and forgot to print the coupon they used to run during the week, where you got $10 off a dinner, so I thought I'd pop in here, use the computer and print it out. I did have to wait for about 15 minutes for a computer, but that flies by in a library. They were very nice and I ended up checking books out for a trip i was taking.

This is the Multnomah County East building that provide low-cost family health care and other…read moreservices to the Gresham Community and MC residents. This building services all ages, race, and even uninsured. The building has multiple levels, with stair access & two elevators. Theres a big parking lot (I have seen it completely filled before), some street parking, and located near a max stop and multiple bus lines in downtown Gresham - this place can be very busy with people activity. I have been coming here for years to see my wonderful Dr.- very fortune to have found her. On the main floor, there is a seating area with a water fountain, and security at the main entrance by elevators. The floor is big and some areas include a help / self service area for seniors and disability. There is a computer area and small library; A little thrift area type store that sells super cheap clothing and other items- I'm sure you could maybe even donate used items; A snack area where you can purchase to help the seniors there; Even ballot drop off and voting area. I think a work-help place; I am sure there are other services that they offer here, just haven't looked too in-depth. The next multiple floors provide the following Services: Adult healthcare, Children's care, Women's health, Pregnancy testing, Prenatal care, Mental health, Counseling, and other health care needs. I have only visited the third floor as that's where the main health care area is. You will find a big waiting room with a check in desk- the gals are friendly and nice. There is also an area to talk to someone that will help go over your insurance and work with you on payments. They have staff that speak Spanish, and I'm sure other languages because this building services multiples ethnic groups in a very large diverse community. There is the pharmacy on this floor too. All the rooms are in the back, secured, so no one can just walk back there. For what this building is, it's very nice and clean, staff is friendly, and the drs really do care for us!

What a fantastic clinic and just what I needed. For those who don't know, Birthingway trains…read morelactation consultants and so when you have an appointment, you'll have one certified LC and a few students. I was really struggling to feed my newborn and after searching around I came across Birthingway and saw how affordable they were. I am not in a position where I can spend $100 in consultations- Birthingway will not turn anybody away but a $20 donation is suggested. That is incredible! My appointment was with Emily, the LC, and one student (Adrienne?) and both were fabulous and very knowledgable. They assessed my baby before, during, and after feeding and gave me great suggestions for latching problems and breast care. I am so grateful for their help! As a bonus, my appointment was on a Saturday, so very convenient! Thank you, Birthingway!!

I was let go from my former job due to downsizing, so immediately applied for unemployment…read morebenefits. Although I understood the reason for being let go (just business, nothing personal) it still stung a bit and caused some anxiety. My family and Ron, my boyfriend, were beyond helpful and supportive. My other partner , so to speak, in getting back in gear again was the fabulous staff here at Worksource Oregon. They advised and counseled me on everything from correct resume construction and interview skills to dressing the part of what I applied for (especially with a referral to Dress for Success). If I got a bit discouraged, they had my back and got me fluffed and folded to get back out and keep moving forward. I was also welcome to use their computers, fax machine, and printers during their office hours. With their help and guidance, I found a job that I wanted and an employer who wanted me. Not a bad deal, right? Their staff, experts in their fields, were just excellent and had just the right amount of compassion. It's easy to criticize the use of our tax dollars, and I know for sure I do from time to time. However, the use of our tax dollars for the Oregon Worksource Centers is so justifiable. Because of their staff and resources, I'm back in the real world again and complaining "it's too early to get up!!" And I couldn't be happier.
