My experience since that first visit has stayed pretty consistent. I've seen four midwives so far, and all of them have been great. I prefer some over others, but that's just personal preference they've all been fantastic. The MAs are also good. There's one named Cali (not sure how it's spelled) who is a sweetheart--always friendly and someone I'm glad to see. The rest are nice as well.
The main issue is the receptionist staff. Whenever I come in to check in, I walk up, say hello, and let them know I'm there for an appointment... and I get ignored for a while. After this happened multiple times, I started waiting for them to greet me or check me in, but that also takes a while. Most of the time they don't even look up at you while speaking. The front desk lacks basic customer service, tone of voice, friendliness, acknowledgment. Sometimes they sound monotone, sometimes there's attitude, and often there are long pauses where I'm left standing there unsure if I should sit down or stay put. One time I stood in front of a receptionist for a full two minutes before being acknowledged (the office was empty)
A simple "I'll be with you in one moment" would go a long way if they're in the middle of something. I've worked front desk in medical practices myself, so I understand multitasking, switching between screens, verifying insurance, and dealing with difficult patients. I get it. But basic acknowledgment and courtesy should still be there. read more
