Well, this is a must do when visiting Tobermory, doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is a treasure trove of information. For the ticket price of FREE, this is so worth a trip, handy for the rainy day.
The museum has been put together really well giving a lovely story and picture of the island through the ages, starting off from the cavemen era right through to WW2 and further. There's plenty to see and you'll come out with a headache that's worth it, there are lots of hands-on stuff too including a belt used in the local school to help give children an idea of what it was like when you were in trouble. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming and we ended up chatting for a good hour or so at the end.
Defo worth a visit and not too boring for the kids. read more
