I wish that a fashion portal would open when I open my closet each morning. It'd be like Narnia,…read morewithout the lion or the witch... just the wardrobe. I'd just pop in to some awesome store, play dress up and then come back through my wardrobe like the Pevensie children. Anyway, Parc Boutique would definitely be one of my fashion portal stops. I follow the owner Thao on Twitter and Pinterest because she has amazing taste, so I should've known how much I'd like this store. It had been a while since my first visit to Parc (when I was young and broke), so my visit last week felt like the maiden voyage. There's a balance of affordability and higher-fashion style here, which I appreciate because that is a balance I try to find on a daily basis. There's a great selection of dresses, tops, jewelry, denim and more---all priced and curated well. The bauble table was where I had the most trouble saying goodbye. I saw the most interesting geometric pendant priced at about $75 (as usual, my eye wanders to one of the most expensive things on the table). Though I couldn't bring myself to drop the cash, I was compelled to put it on my Christmas list eight months in advance.

All of the brands they carry are women owned businesses and either local or from around the country. The staff is beyond friendly is they're always happy to help with any questions you may have. As well as clothing, they also carry the cutest natural skin care lines, especially Herbivore Botanicals. If you're in Minneapolis and have a shopping day, I highly recommend you stop in to their shop.

I had a pretty crummy experience at June today, the Edina location…read more I went in with about 15 Karen Millen dresses and blazers, sizes 8 and 6, freshly dry cleaned and in very good condition. The owner (I assume she was the owner) looked them over while I looked around the store. When I went back up to the front, all she said was, "I'll pass." I was a bit surprised, so I said, "Can I ask why?" She said, "They have a strong dry cleaning smell, so maybe if you put them in the backyard or something." (I smelled them again and I honestly don't smell anything, but whatever.) I said, "Okay, so if I do that... is there anything here you'd take? Because I don't want to do all of that and lug everything back and you're just not interested." She very curtly said, "I don't know, I didn't really look." No smile, no "thanks for coming in." (Her associate who was working there was nice.) The whole time, she was just very curt and abrasive with me. And even though I was there to try to sell clothes, if she had treated me like that if I had walked in there to buy clothes, I would have NEVER bought anything from her. I definitely would have felt unwelcome and walked out. My negative review is not based on her decision not to buy my clothes. That's totally her decision - I was disappointed, but that's fine. My negative review is based on how she treated me. I felt she was very rude to me the whole time. I will not try to sell anything there anymore, nor will I go in to buy anything either. (The owner will probably do a reply on this review, and that's fine. I believe that my review is objective of what happened, and readers can make their own decision.)

It's across the street from our all-time favorite ice cream shop, Crema, so it's not as if she had to twist my arm. However! It took us several tries, due to their 6pm closing time, before we finally got in. I geeked out big time, I'll admit it. Minneapolis is the best, I repeat, the BEST city for vintage clothing (affordable, and otherwise) and June is a great addition to my usual rotation of secondhand stores. The owner, Daune, is really sweet, and the dressing rooms have two very important elements: red velvet curtains and flattering light. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE SHOE RACK OH MAH GOD IT IS AMAZING. Seriously. For serious. Seriously. No, I'm really serious about this: Manolo Blahnik, D&G, Marc Jacobs, Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin, Te Casan...most run for less than $100 and are presented beautifully on high, white shelves in the back room. Great purses and wallets (Vivienne Westwood...oooooooooh), though those will cost you a pretty penny. The clothing racks are full of great finds, albeit some questionable ones (what is a Guess? denim miniskirt doing next to Oscar de la Renta?), but there's no way you'll leave here empty-handed. I bought: Marc Jacobs Black Nubuck Mary Janes ($45) Anna Sui Black Lace Goth-Style Dress ($55) Gold Sunburst Cocktail Ring with Blue Stone ($20) Do...you...have...ANY...idea...how much these items would cost in a New York high-end vintage shop? Hot damn. You lucky, lucky folks. It's places like these that keep me coming back for more...

I'm normally not much of a shopper (in person anyways) but I figured it couldn't hurt to stop in super quick. I had an event later that night and would just grab the shirt I saw in the window... WRONG. I spent lots of money in a small amount of time and now I'm addicted to shopping local. Help. Les Sól is the cutest little boutique in the Calhoun Isles and the owner I met was a gem. It's so fun to find places to shop that make you feel right at home. I don't think I was in the store more than 5 minutes before I found the PERFECT dress for my event and I was able to strut all around the store while everyone hyped me up. What more can you ask for in a shopping experience? I'm so glad I stopped in to Les Sól. The mix of brands, thrifted pieces, and fun accessories is to die for. Especially when the space isn't squished or overwhelming. Will *definitely* be back!

The only downside to this place is the parking -- our first time coming was when it was snowy out and on a Friday night, so the parking spots were few and far between. Although the weather when I visited was snowy and dark, Les Sol lived up to its name and was so bright and sunny inside that anyone could've forgotten it was dark and wintery outside. Les Sol carries neat home decor, gifts, stationery, and clothing -- maybe more, that's just what I can remember off the top of my head. I ended up leaving with a few new CUTE pins for my jackets and am still thinking of some of the darling greeting cards and candles I left behind. The staff was soooo friendly and the shop decor feels like a party waiting to happen.

There's a lot of fun gift ideas, but I will say the main items are geared towards children or women. I did find a shampoo bar I've been wanting, but was also browsing their cook books and candles. I found a new shop to consider when buying gifts for my two sisters. ‍ The staff were welcoming and nice and they talked up some of their chocolates at the checkout area. I snagged a seasonal ornament at 50% off and browsed for about an hour (could've easily stayed longer, but the rest of the day was calling). Such a cute boutique with tons of goodies! I absolutely loved ALL the jewelry. It's about a 30-minute drive from where I live, but it's definitely worth the trip, and hey, maybe I'll catch a movie too. The real icing on the cake was Julie. She was so pleasant and engaging and truly made me feel welcome. Great customer service is rare these days, and she nailed it-thank you, Julie! If you're in the area or looking for a fun little field trip, this place is a must. Everything is beautifully arranged: jewelry, candles, stationary & clothing, purses, and toys for kiddos. I'd say prices are normal for a boutique and the quality of everything is great. Plus, lots of unique finds. Side note- I was so zoned here that I completely forget to take photos.
