The greens are in good shape and the grass is always cut to an acceptable length. The course isn't overly challenging, but you'll use the majority of your clubs while playing here. There are enough hazards to force you to be accurate and enough water to force some difficult decisions. Definitely some risk/reward here. Their food isn't to bad and a 6-pack of beer will only run you $12 dollars.

When you're paying good money to play, you shouldn't be yelled at or mocked while you're trying to learn and enjoy the game. We were making an effort to be courteous to other golfers and follow proper etiquette. The course itself may be fine, but the way we were treated by the clubhouse staff completely ruined the experience. Based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend spending your time or money here.

My round cost $50 walking or $74.99 with a cart -- easily one of the best deals for a course of this quality in the Lower Lansing / St. Johns area. Service was just as impressive. The cart girl came by at least seven times during my round, always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The staff clearly knows how to run a golf course right. It is a nice course to walk as the distance from greens to tees is pretty small. My biggest complaint about the course is that there are some spots where you feel like you are in between 3-5 tees and greens. I tend to prefer courses where you cannot see other holes while you are playing the course. The prices are very reasonable and I always feel that my money was well spent after playing Marywood.
