The reception staff @ Muhlenberg Primary Care on Emrick Blvd. are nothing but INCOMPETENT, UNPROFESSIONAL MORONS. They screw up appts, they screw up requests for patient files, they screw up paperwork, they screw up forwarding your prescription refill requests, they screw up the order in which they send patients into the back office, & they are generally just OBLIVIOUS to their own stupidity & come off as rude, indifferent, & arrogant. No real problems w/ the nurses or docs. read more

I agree with Charly on the clerical staff blunders. They really do mess many important things up, but the doctors are great.

If I could give this place a negative 100 rating .. I would.. What a place.. More like a nightmare.. The worst service, rude even the manager didnt care what I nor anyone else had to say. Its sad that these are the people who mess up with our health but welcome to medical world -- it has become a business - nobody cares about YOU or YOUR health - all they care about is how to take more and more advantage of your health insurance. Great experience. Overly friendly staff and nurses. Great doctor, Dr, Ragi Mathew. He actually takes the time to listen to you and give his advice. What a compassionate, caring, concerned doctor. Great follow up. Very nice with a great personality. He has called me personally with concerns. I never have an issue getting into see him. Always in and out in less than 30 minutes--- or I could talk to him longer if I choose. He never rushes you. I really trust Dr Mathew. Great doctor with a passion for what he does. Seriously, I have never had a doctor like this before. I would recommend Dr Mathew and his practice to anyone. You will be pleased and treated the way you want to be treated. read more

This place used to be okay. Office staff always questionable with follow through on refill and referrals. But they had a couple great doctors that made it worth it. Then, they opened a walk in center. Now you have to wait three months for an actual appointment and they doctors won't do any more than the PAs at the walk in anyway. No actual concern over patients. All they do is refer everything to specialists. There is only one person at check in for both appointments and walk in and it can take her 20 minutes to even get to you. Same with check out. Routinely wait two weeks and make three calls to get a medication refill. One of their newest doctors went to a Carribean medical school. Sketchy to say the least. Its all about turning a buck now and getting people in and out ASAP. Not to mention, they constantly mess up insurance billing and blame the patient. Also.... Nice that the front desk asks everyone who comes in to explain in detail exactly why they are there in front of a packed room of people. I feel bad for anyone doing a walk in with anything personal. read more

I've had a very bad sinus infection since Wednesday. Go into the "walk in" center that very day. Was told 3 people were in front of me. After an hour and a half of waiting, and watching 9 people go in front of me I ask the front desk what was taking so long. She said "Well some people had appointments". Why in the world is a walk in center taking appointments? So I left, extremely sick, and extremely pissed. Fast forward to Friday. I call seeing if I can get an appointment upstairs where I normally go. I called at 2:05pm, the woman tells me an appointment is open for 2:15pm. We live in West Market Street, told me her i'd be there at 2:20pm. Which I arrived exactly at that time. Wait for 30 minutes and ask again what is taking so long. They told me since I was 5 minutes late they began taking others instead. When I told them when I would be there.... they only gave me a ten minute window to get there! So anyways it comes back of course I have a sinus infection. Ears filled with fluid, making me dizzy.... I knew all this. McWilliams ask me if my pharmacy is the same so they can send over a nose spray script. Yea yea. Fast forward the next day.... go to Riteaid.... NO SCRIPT WAS SENT and of course they are closed on weekends for me to call and complain. PIECE OF GARBAGE DOCTORS OFFICE. read more

I was very disappointed in Muhlenberg Primary Care. I decided to try the walk in clinic and found it very unprofessional to have to discuss my medical situation right in the waiting room filled with other clients. I would have preferred to write my history and issues on paperwork....as other medical professionals do. Then I saw the nurse practitioner, which was an experience all in itself. First, she passes the examining room that I was waiting in and screaming down the hallway at the staff because she could not print something from her laptop that she carries in each room with her. Then she comes racing in my examination room with a nasty look on her face and doesn't even introduce herself. During the examination I asked for a refill on a prescription and she sat there and said nothing. Finally, one month later my mail in pharmacy finally received the prescription and not to mention I had to call Muhlenberg Primary Care everyday from my appointment date of 8/258/12 to get the prescription. the pharmacy finally received it on 9/19/12. After the evaluation, she stood up and was leaving the room and while she was in the hallway, I had to ask questions because she didn't advise anything or ask if I had any questions. She was rushing out just as fast as she was rushing in and she made sure to tell me that someone else was in front of me but she was having problems with her computer therefore, she will just stay and take me first. I felt the office was very disorganized and unprofessional. I especially did not like the treatment I received in the examining room and would not recommend this office to anyone. I've never been treated like that before during an examination. I felt I was rushed and that the nurse practitioner's lack of concern with the nasty attitude was so unprofessional that I would never go back. I especially didn't like the fact that I had to hear her yelling at the staff or the nasty attitude she brought into the examining room or the fact of not receiving quality doctor/patient time. They really need to reevaluate their practice. read more

WORST OFFICE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! STAFF SUCKS! In the two years I have been bringing my son to this office I have only ever been able to make one appointment. The rest of the time I have had to rely on walk ins, which literally suck up your entire day. The women at the front desk are complete idiots. There are a few choice doctors who shouldn't be in practice, specifically one who writes the wrong prescriptions for their patients! Horrible. ..I spend at least 2 hours in there (that's even having an appointment) just waiting between the doctor coming in and the nurses and shots just for 1 child and my kids are crying every time because 2 hours is a long time to keep any kids attention in a small hot room. They have even forgotten I was in the room on a couple occasions until the kids started crying. The worst is Dr. Potterjones! She repeats the same info to me every time I'm there, waste time, and lectures me like I'm a new parent! The last appointment she forgot to keep records of my 4 months shots and almost gave the same ones to him again the next time....luckily the nurse and I remembered he got them. working for many years in healthcare I feel as though this is a good medical practice with caring doctors and staff. It went though an adjustment period when it started taking walk-in patients and at that time I was really unhappy with the way the routine patients were having to sit and wait. But I am pretty sure whatever adjustments were needed to make it run smooth again they have been worked out since every time I have gone in there for any reason the place seems to be pretty well organized. For that who do not know what it is like to work in healthcare and see so many patients in one day. I feel like it was a bit rude to call the staff incompetent and morons. Did the staff address you in a professional way??? Did they do their best to try to help you??? If they did then maybe you could have be a little understanding...they are people and people are not perfect. If you take a moment and speak to them in a calm and respectful way I am sure they would not have any problems admitting if they made an error and they would do what they had to do to correct it. I have only had an issue with one Dr. who I will not name but I will no longer allow anyone from my family to see her as she is perhaps one of the most unprofessional doctors I have ever met in my 20+ years of nursing and really feel she needs to work on her people skills...because as a doctor I think she was really good...as a person...I have no respect for her at all.... read more
