So $70 wasted, but it will at least kill other weeds, probably. I REALLY loved going here when they gave a child a free plant, $25 years ago or so. The place is still lovely, even lovelier with the peaceful friendly animals looking at me. Nice ponds, places to sit. They sell pallets of St. Augustine sod, & can deliver it to your home. Right now though, because of the freeze, they only have 1 type of St. Augustine. SUPER FRIENDLY employees. You can spend many hours there exploring if you want to.

5 Stars for my new favorite plant shop (inside a lawn & pest control shop)…read more You've probably heard of Oviedo Plants from the way they blew up on social media over the past couple of years, but this was the first time I had the chance to go there. I was surprised to see it was inside another shop, and that it didn't have its own Yelp page. The moment I walked in I was immediately blown away by the extraordinary, curated selection of plants. Though they may not have room for hundreds of plants, they make up for it in the curation. We're talking draw-dropping monsters albo's at first sight. Then you see the sale rack and you end up leaving with far more new plants than you imagined. The staff is next level, too. Rochelle helped us. Her sister is the owner, but she does much of the buying and curation. She was able to explain to us how to care for each plant, and it turned out we got there a day after she brought a bunch of new babies in. Timmy helped check us out and set us up with boxes so packing them in the car was a breeze. It felt like a family business and one that I'm more than happy to support. A few weeks later, the plants are thriving and I am thrilled to have found this little hidden gem. Do yourself a favor!

I was particularly impressed by the two orders of the Philodendron Atabapoense. They were both ~17" tall with Lots of leaves. I'm pretty certain that each had a 12" leaf in a 4" pot. Unreal In addition the Stunning healthy plants, I was just as impressed by the care that went into wrapping & packaging. It was more than a consumer would ever expect. I order many plants online & either plants were crushed, a leaf/stem broken, an over-abundance of soil in the box (which makes it very messy); or.. you need a battle axe to unwrap the plant. But not this shop. Every step of packaging was handled with care. I was incredibly impressed. Corrugated cardboard protected the plant, a white grow bag material covered each individually, and fluffy cotton wrapped around the soil. Not only were the plants Large & Healthy, beautifully wrapped (by Taylor - Thank Youuuu!!!) Now let's talk about Leveling Up the game. I was already obsessed with University Ace, but my latest experience took me over the top. I ordered a new keyfob to be programmed after buying a newer used car that only came 1 key. Once i received notification from Ace that the keyfob came in, I returned this morning at 7 AM to pick it up and get it programmed. Upon trying to program it, the Technician, Leslie, was unable to get the car out of 'programming' mode for some reason. After 1.5 hours of her multiple attempts and getting back up from her Manager, even disconnecting/reconnecting the car battery, they committed to calling the manufacturer and offered to take me to work why they worked on it. I get a call mid morning that she removed and took the battery to an auto parts store to be tested where it was found to be bad/dead. She left it for 1-2 hours to see if it could be charged and was planning to return, reinstall, and try programming the keyfob again. She returned to the auto parts store to pick up the charged battery and found it was bad. She immediately called me to let me know the findings and then offered, if I wanted, to pick up a new battery, install it, and reprogram the keyfob again. I just received a call from Leslie that my car is ready with new working battery and two working keyfobs. Customer service doesn't get any better then this. . . and THIS is why University Ace Hardware is my favorite store of all time!!! Leslie is a stellar employee that Ace should be very proud of . . . Later in the day, my father returned with the exact packaging and the exact same receipt. They accepted the return without any issue and were friendly to him. Based on how differently we were treated while under the same circumstances, I was left feeling like I was judged differently only because I was a younger customer. Whether that was intentional or not, that's how the entire experience came across. I expected consistent customer service for everyone and unfortunately, that wasn't my experience.
