From the moment we walked in, in shock with immediate grief, to following the burial, they walked us through every aspect of the process. We were able to create a beautiful memorial in remembrance of our beloved mother that was true to her uniqueness and according to her wishes. Special thanks to David, Jane, Vera, Stephanie, Elida, Michael, Kirk, and I know there are several others I'm forgetting. All the attendants were professional and proactive. It was also the only space we visited (of five or six) that was large enough to hold a sanctuary-like service, given we were not using a church building for our service. During his celebration of life ceremony, it appeared 200 plus people came through the doors of this small funeral home. With extra chairs, collages, shirts from all his Sturgis events and a line that carried out the door, they provided the family with all the time and patience they needed. The visitation and service, which included songs and stories was so beautifully done, it is hard to imagine many funeral homes could have pulled off something this big and intimate. They were incredible during the entire day and evening and worthy of this rating.

My parents and grandparents are buried here. It used to be very well maintained but no longer…read more Dandelions and goose poop everywhere, weeds are taking over grass. You can't even stick in a stick next to the headstone with a glowing angel on it and it gets tossed. Lawnmowers have hacked chunks out of the headstones. Memorial Day should have had that place looking spit shined but it was bad while the older cemetery next door is plush and green and maintained. Come on Evergreen get your act together.

Acacia Park is gorgeous. I've wandered in here on my bike before, somewhat accidentally (I thought…read moreI would be able to connect with a path on the other side), and really enjoyed meandering around. All of the headstones are on the ground, so it looks just like a forest unless you're looking at the ground. There are lovely hills (though I didn't appreciate them on my bike), and I even ran into a turkey while I was in there. It's private, it overlooks Fort Snelling, and it's just a really peaceful, quiet place to be. I was recently at an interment here, and everything went smoothly, even in the snow. They were playing a song on the bells and it was a really beautiful event. Whether or not you have a reason to come here, just take a walk around it sometime.
