Returned to the Mudtown Station as back in the area for a group jet ski trip. Opted for seating outside under an umbrella. Tried the burger and fries again and shared the steak bites. My friend ordered the paella. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were excellent. The steak bites were over cooked and not sure how they could call what they served my friend paella.They did have one IPA on tap that I sampled and it was nice. I have no plans to return. read more

Excellent food and friendly service! Located on a quiet street off the main road and right beside the dog park. No line up on a Sunday evening long weekend. Patio is large and dog friendly, waitress was so kind to give people blankets as it was still chilly outside. They have a nice selection of mains on the menu (fish, burger, steak, tofu, salad etc) as well as beers. Highly recommend the house made bucatini with lemon chicken as well as the ribeye steak with pommes anna and balsamic truffled mushroom. Location is really nice, but food and service were not great. The fattoush salad was $26 for lettuce and a couple of small cubes of cold halloumi cheese (supposed to be fried) Kids burger was so burnt it was crunchy. Everything is definitely overpriced for the quality. Us and our food were covered in flies the entire time we ate. I know you can only control thatthat so much, but they definitely should get some fly traps. read more

Service was great as it was pretty empty, kind and welcoming staff. Got 2 pounds chicken wings and the daily soup which totaled to $50.. so quite pricey. Chicken wings were VERY dry would definitely not recommend!!! Probably wont come back. Nice atmosphere and decked out for Halloween though. read more

Wow, I've been to this brew pub before and had a very delicious meal, but today's lunch was way over the top! From the moment we sat down I was hit with delicious beer after delicious beer... Seeing as we were there for lunch I went the lighter side of the spectrum and stuck with the lager, saison and lighter ales... I remember the burger being absolutely delicious and they used to have a chicken sandwich which was equally delicious but today with the new menu, they have really taken it over the top! My wife and I started out sharing the fried brussel sprouts, which as an appetizer you would think might be a small portion, but you would be absolutely wrong! This delicious treat came out piled high with fried brussels sprouts covered in bacon, cheese and a delicious aïoli/sauce that went perfectly together - we had to stop eating it because we had ordered other items... That's how much it was! My wife ordered the beet roasted cauliflower steak which on presentation alone was absolutely a five star, almost like a beautiful painting on a plate... The flavours were so unexpected and kept your pallet guessing over and over again.... For me after three delicious pints of beer I went with the scallops topped with chorizo and chimichurri. The flavours that came out of this dish were nothing like what I expected and in a very amazing pleasant way! Beautifully seared scallops topped with a very delicious, yet not overly aggressive chorizo, and a chimichurri that was not what I typically expect from a chimichurri but the herbal punch that I got from it, including the tendrils on top and the beautiful purée underneath, was a symphony in the mouth, if you are a foodie, this dish is an absolute must! It's a very interesting place and they have done a nice job job turning a train station into a restaurant. Lots of details still left intact. The goods: the bar area is very nice. Sit at the bar or a high top. The beer flights are well presented, reasonably priced, and the beers are very good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall enjoyed. read more

This is my 2nd visit and honestly, it's even better then last years visit. Love the patio cause it loves my dog. Nice to enjoy a drink on a patio with your dog. Speaking of drink, it was only 7.75 for a 6oz glass of Pinot Grigio. Try finding that price in Toronto. My hubby had the burger and like last year said "best burger I've ever had" That says a lot coming from him. He eats ALOT of burgers. I had the banh mi chicken sandwich. It's excellent. All crispy veggies and tender chicken pieces. My only complaint is there's way too much bun. Would like to see a potato bun, like the burger. Wedge fries are crispy, big, and all round fantastic. Really great meal at Mudtown Station - wife and I both had the Ribeye. Honestly, one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Belgian Blonde Lager was tasty as well. Service was quick on a busy patio. It's an old train station, so the ambiance is a bit kitschy (won't be to everyone's taste) - but we were on the patio with a nice view of the harbor. The only food I recommend here is the cornbread. It is literally the best corn bread I've ever had. The restaurant itself is not that nice, quite old and the food is meh, nothing special. The beer flights were alright, I think I only truly enjoyed one of them but not special enough for me to remember the name. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here again unless I was really craving cornbread but I would just grab it to go. The popcorn butter is amazing with it. read more

They had me at station. The former CPR station with some of the 1940s trimmings preserved. They don't serve snails here; instead they have snails that serve. It was the slowest service I've ever encountered. And I've been to places where I practically had to hold a gun to the server's head in order to get my bill so I could leave. But I turned in my gun long ago so when it was obvious that no amount of prodding was going to get them to bring my bill, I plunked down cash and left. I was ignored as if I were in the midst of sabotaging a Borg ship on Star Trek. I fear that there was enough left over for a very undeserved tip. Anything more than the interest my bank currently pays on my savings (0.05%) would be excessive. The food was alright but not worth waiting an eternity for. read more

Such a great addition to Owen Sound. My absolute favourite will always be the burger. I loved getting a beer flight,--so fun to sample new beers this way. The atmosphere is welcoming and we had our ladies night in big table for eight!! Great fun and the service was too notch!! Loved their Caesar's and cider lovely. Had lunch there today. Fabulous. I don't like beer but the flight was wonderful and presented well. I had the falafel which was tasty and just spicy enough. My friend has the hamburger which was homemade. The wedge fries were the best ever. Then the strawberry rhubarb crumble was over the top. This was my first stage 3 opening from Covid dining inside a restaurant. I felt very safe - the tables were spread out, servers had masks and everything was clean. They also serve wine. Nice brewery/resto-pub. Opted to sit outside on the patio overlooking the river since the inside had an odd smell to it the day we visited. Service attentive. Had their home brew wheat beer which was tasty. Cornbread was delicious. Good place to enjoy a beer and some laid back summer vibes. We went there this past Saturday to see for ourselves if the service was as bad as we've heard. We arrived at 5:45 and there was a note on the door that Mud Town would be closing for a private function at 7:00 pm. After waiting at the front door for five minutes, a young attendant said they were not seating any more people because of the private party at 7:00 pm. Come on Mud Town, you couldn't have served us a hamburger and had us out in an hour and ten minutes? I think if a small town restaurant like Mud Town wants the support of the local community they should be a little more respectful. read more

Just tried it for the first time for lunch. Did flights of beer to sample all 6 of their brews. Lots of different and interesting flavours. Really enjoyed our food as well. We had the burger and grilled ham and cheese. Will definitely come back and recommend it to family and friends. read more

Even without the brewery, Mudtown is the best restaurant in Owen Sound. Have been a handful of times and always fantastic.

Menu is great. Beer and cider are excellent. Service is even better. Must try. Try the Lake trout or ribs. We loved it!

Great location. Pleased to see the old train station repurposed. The patio is a welcoming spot when the weather is warm. The food is well prepared. I do find it odd that there is no ability to order a side salad with an entree. I was informed that was not possible but that I could order the large salad off the menu. Yet, the chicken on a bun comes with a small bowl of salad on the plate. Burgers have a small bowl of French fries. A la carte needs to have some side options to order along with the fish/meat entrees. Otherwise, I would suggest putting seasonal veggies on the plate or a small salad. Just saying... read more

This is our new fave spot whenever we visit family in Chatsworth and Owen Sound. The food is phenomenal - we've had the trout and the steak (totally worth how pricey it is), but the beer is the thing that keeps us coming back for more. We tend to visit as many local breweries as we can whenever we travel, and frankly, Mudtown always keeps us coming back. Can't wait to get back here for a wedding next month just so we can try more of their stellar offerings. read more

What a pleasant find! Not typical bar fare. We stopped into the nearby dog park and decided to grab a quick lunch before heading back to Toronto. Our dog was tied to outer patio posts and we dined outside . The service and food is the best in Owen sound. We ordered falafel and cauliflower. Walked in and the place was a mess, numerous tables empty and full of empty glasses and dishes. Sign said seat yourself so we sat at one of the tables. 10 minutes go by an not one person serving came by. We've been 3 times since they opened a couple of weeks ago and everything has been great except the $39.00 steak my daughter ordered the last time we were there. It was very, very fatty with a lot of fibrous bits. The steak came on it's own with nothing else on the plate. No garnish of any sort. Just an enormous slab of poor quality beef. read more
