***racist alert****trigger warning***** Aside from the…read moreclasses being janky and no one leaving with absolutely no progress whatsoever, they're just straight up racists. Enrolled last week and had my first zoom session. Its instructor, Melvin kept mispronouncing my legal name although I corrected him several times during the class. By the end of the class, everyone in the class learned my name and tried to correct him, he huffed and said I have 'fans' and literally said 'I'm just gonna call you Yang, that's you're name, right?' -it's not. Not even close. This guy didn't even try. I called to their office to correct things and its owner, ALSO kept mispronouncing my name and tried to explain his perspective. Their so-called excuse is that they're a family business started in 1970s and Melvin has been with them for more than 30 years-is that an excuse to butcher my name that I got from my parents? With no excuses or apologies? I don't think so. I insisted that they give me a refund and terminate my attendance, she said (I'm not joking) "actually, you owe us $70 (laughs) listen, I understand, my daughter in law is FILIPINO". Need I explain that Koreans and Filipinos are different people (Filipinos have Hispanic names) We, East Asians experience this type of mistreatment all the time. And when it becomes a problem, some white woman will always claim that they 'understand how we feel' because their sisters-best friend's-cousin's-baby's-god mother is from (insert the furthest distanced Asian country) it's highly manipulative gaslighting. Don't be a fool. Don't let the person who's getting your money manipulate and gaslight you and make it sound like it's okay to be bullied. Then what's new, they threatened me to report 'my behavior'. This is probably the worst Karen experience I've ever had. This is just the scrape of how janky their business is. Avoid it with all costs. There are plenty of dui classes around LA who would actually treat you like human being, not blackmailing/stealing/bullying you into things

One of them is, foreigners with F2 visa aren't allowed to go to school if the curriculum is over 18 hours a week. I mean, if the curriculum is under 18 hours a week, I can enter a school. I wanted to go English school near my house and found this school. So I and my husband went to the school to get more information. (F.Y.I., my husband goes to another school, but I didn't want to go to the same school because if we go to the same school, we will depend on each other and I thought it isn't good for learning foreign language.) There was a Japanese office clerk and I said her, "I have F2 visa and I wanna enter this school.' She said, in peremptory tones, "Oh, foreigners with F2 visa can't work or study in U.S. AT ALL . Don't you know that?? ". Obviously, this rude Japanese clerk didn't know about Immigration Law. The person who don't have knowledge of Immigration Law shouldn't be a clerk of language school, right? This school have a lot of student who want to enter Universities in US after graduate this school, and I worry about the students. Don't lead the students wrongly!

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.
