The Norton features a collection of over 8,200 works, focusing on European, American, Chinese, contemporary art & photography, making it Florida's largest art museum. It was founded in 1941, and expanded in 2019, adding new galleries, a sculpture garden, along with improved public spaces. The museum presents works by masters such sPollock, Miro, Chihuly, Matisse, Calder, KaO'Keeffe, Chagall, Rodin, Picasso, and Hopper, and hosts programs like "Art After Dark" on Friday nights. They had so many beautiful pieces of art from all different eras and cultures. The people were also very nice and welcoming The impressionists are always my favorite paintings and sculptures to see. They had all the different masters and some very famous paintings and some other special ones that I hadn't seen. Everything from Degas to Renoir to Rodin and many more. They also had a really great PLEIN-AIR collection from artists I hadn't heard of which made it even better and more interesting. It's such a gorgeous technique and they created such beautiful work. You often only hear about all the great work from the European masters but there were also some talented Americans who could also master techniques like the Dutch master Vermeer and how he could perfectly capture light and shading. I loved the gorgeous painting by Everett Shin. Fantastic! John Slogan also created a painting that reminded me of the posters of Talouse Latrec. The global cultural pictures and artifacts were also pretty fantastic. The Japanese pieces made us think of the wonderful time we had in Japan and all the wonderful museums, temples and places we saw. I also loved the Chihuly Ceiling which was so beautiful. I loved all the beautiful colors. They even had some Andy Warhols which made us think of home and his terrific museum in Pittsburgh. They have a broad range of all different types of art. We'll definitely have to go back and explore further the next time we're in FL.

The Lester's also founded Art Miami, Art Asia Hong Kong, American International Fine Art Fair and Art Boca Raton. The show was acquired by the Palm Beach Show Group in 2022 who also puts on the LA Art Show. Art Palm Beach is the largest and longest mid winter art fair in the Palm Beaches. This art show is dedicated to exhibiting the contemporary, emerging and modern masterworks of 20th and 21st century art. Seventy-six national and International galleries showcased their work for sale. There were also several art museums presenting at the show including the Boca Raton Museum of Art, MOCCA (Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas), and the Danubiana Museum of Art in Bratislava, Slovakia. Art mediums included photography, painting, design, fine art glass, metal, gems, sculpture, and video. Displayed in front of the convention center was Ominka by artist Viktor Freso. The large, inflated bear was covered in blue brooch's inspired by a sentimental costume brooch purchased by artist Viktor Freso's grandmother in 1964 in the United States when she was pursuing a singing career and then taken back to Slovakia. Another stand out art piece was Project Eternal Light from the Reflectspace Gallery displayed in its own area as soon as you walked in to the event. Artist Han Ho's nine lighted panels depicts an apocalyptic end of the world for humanity and was inspired by Michelangelo's Last Supper. A featured exhibition was Big Birk, a 19 foot high, 16 foot long Birkin Bag. It is billed as the world's largest Hermes, Birkin Bag. One of my favorite pieces was the interactive Breakfast by Sydney Warming Sea. Software, a camera, and a computer flips foil on discs into your image when you stand in front of it. There was so much other eye catching art. I especially enjoyed anything featuring animals, light, or kinetic movement. Tickets to this show were $35 but if you follow the galleries on Instagram before the show, some of them give out free tickets. If you pay extra for the VIP tickets there was a private lounge in the center of the convention floor. There was also a Friday night gala for an additional price. During the show there was food and drinks for sale. Parking was offered in the convention center garage for $5 for two hours. Allow a few hours to see everything. There was ample seating on the convention floor in between galleries. This was my first time attending this event and I loved everything about it.

We were lucky enough to be invited as guests of our friends who it seems have gone for years. We met them at the convention center (there's easy parking in the attached garage or you can valet park). Some 85 international galleries had exhibits of all mediums of art. It was like going to a very upscale museum. There was no set traffic pattern here. You could wander in and out of the exhibits as you wished. You could spend as much time as you wanted admiring what you liked. Many items had prices on them. Some were priced "on request". In the middle of the exhibit was a coffee shop/snack bar where you could sit and rest and have a bite. I especially liked some of the kinetic sculptures, the Chihuly glass, and the big "moon" installation. Our friends were drawn to some of the paintings. Such creativity using various methods and mediums -- like an eagle that was made of buttons strung on filament. Or the heart shaped sculpture made out of paint and paint brushes. A number of palm beachers were here to see and be seen. Their outfits were equally as attractive and interesting as the artwork. If you like art, even if you're not in the high rollers league to be a buyer, come here at least to browse. It's a great show!

So unique to use a telescope during the day. The flight simulator was awesome too, never seen that at a science museum before. They dumbed down the controls but it was still fun to steer. And I landed the plane successfully!

I honestly did not know what to expect but when I walked in the doors I felt immediately welcomed. I love that the front door stays locked for security purposes and the check-in system was super smooth. The price of play was $15 which was more than reasonable. My son immediately took his shoes off and began to explore. The owner offered me a cup of coffee (I immediately knew we were in the right place lol) and we engaged in delightful conversation. This is not your "typical" indoor playground which I love more than anything. Totally tech free! There are endless centers and sections of play areas for kids to get lost in imaginative and engaging play time, whether with friends or independently. There is a full size trampoline, toddler trampoline and slide for the kids to enjoy as well. My son had a blast and I intend on making this one of our regular weekend spots to spend time out the house hanging out.
