Held every Saturday from the middle of June until October... and special winter events on…read moreoccasion... this is a bustling market with a wide variety of food, plants, and crafts. 1 star deduction for parking... the police have started blocking off sections of the diagonal parking in front of town hall and positioning an officer to be sure no one uses the spots... not very visitor friendly... since town hall isn't open? New This Year Brunty Farms - chicken and eggs... they also have a booth at Howe Meadow Farmer's Market... and offer a discount of eggs if you bring the box back and re-use it. Trigo's Market Bakery - nice selection of round and rectangle loafs... with a rotating foccacia selection. They also have a stuffed foccacia (forgot the name of the style) and we tried the pear, walnut, blue cheese... outstanding! Beefallo - haven't tried them yet, but they offer ground, patties, steaks and other cuts of American Buffalo's that have been bread with cows? The booth has been packed so I haven't heard the pitch yet. Repeat Winners The Pierogi Lady - Serves some hot to eat there... the rest frozen... you can even order off of her Facebook page and pick them up at the market... so far this year we've loved the crab rangoon and the french onion... and this week picked up some chicken pot pie and yam with walnuts to try. Bluebird Meadow Farms - bratwurst, breakfast sausage, ribs, roasts and later in the season even duck Hattie's Cafe - great selection of jams and salsa Edgesmith - next week I'll start my yearly cycle of sending my chef's knives in for a pro sharpening... they do a great job with pruners too. 2 Amish farms come as well as 4 or 5 local offerings of specialty lettuce, herb and garlic growers. We don't go for the candle seller or the popcorn person... but at least once a season we buy from the honey people and the maple syrup lady. Lots to choose from... and everyone is really friendly... worth the drive to check out some of the local breakfast or lunch places... and a can't miss when the Taste of Hudson is happening!

The city has a policy of pointing all departments to the root web site... and there is NO information on the farmers market to be found there... Facebook dot com slash TallmadgeFarmersMarket is the best option... but Yelp won't allow it in the web address field? 4 - 7 on Thursdays in the High School parking lot... so traffic can be a bit of a snarl... and the weekend markets have more of a fruit and veggie diversity... so while we love this one... it's not market nirvana for us.

Oct is a great time to visit for a wide selection of squash, peppers, eggplant, cauliflower and more. It's cash only for the veggies. You can buy individual items (many for 50 cents/75 cents/1 dollar) or buy larger portions for preserving. Service is always friendly and helpful, and the rural, rustic vibe makes you want to linger and take pictures.

This is a self serve stand located inside a super cute barn space. It's on the honor system so you just pick out what you would like and write up a receipt for your total. Accepts cash and mobile payments. I bought some veggies, loose leaf tea, done frozen meats and some blueberry lavender jelly that is delicious!! The area is beautiful, and it was easy to find. I didn't meet anyone during my visit but the farm is so pretty. I hope to go back, and you should definitely visit too!

Also, the apples are way in the back past all the smelly stuff and touristy garbage - like they're just an afterthought. That's sad.

We picked up some sweet treats from Red Bean Bakes and Black Sheep Baking Co, while Lionforce BBQ dished us up some nice warm breakfast burritos to enjoy at the provided picnic tables. Pretty good. But you gotta do the work and hit the code and go thru the process. The WSM right now is under construction. So the produce side is smaller and off to the side not the main hall. Then you go out and walk around the sidewalk off Lorain to get to the meat side. Produce side is to the left. Smaller space but they have it organized better. Everyone is selling the same stuff and prices are fairly similar for each stall. But it is brighter and well laid out. I guess you can go by who looks the most trustworthy to who you buy from. Just keep an eye out to what you buy and make sure it's what you get. That was the old market. Hopefully it's better now. TBH I did not buy any veggies or fruit. Meat side is abundant with meat, fish, pastry, sauces, cheese and other vendors. You can find a deal. We got 3 pounds of ground meat for $18. Sunday is an off day some vendors are off so not all the stalls are filled. But more than enough. We also went to Christopher the bread guy for our favorite bread. So good! We got the rustic Italian small loaf and they sliced it. Good sandwiches this week for lunch. But they have a million other options too. This is a nice little treasure and it's worth the time and effort to go here. Grab lunch and hang out on W25th it's fun and worth the visit.
