Kamp K9 had two large open pens, little side trails, sidewalks, and quiet neighborhoods to walk dogs and go for a morning run. Even has the entertainment area with horseshoes, giant chess/checkers, hangout area with shade. Feels like it was once upon a time an average RV park that they're bringing lots of KOA love to. Would stay again. Gas station, Ace Hardware, coffee & pizza shop just down the road. Location was easy to get to on the outskirts of town, but also close to Helena city attractions.

Yes campsites are a little close together but you're most likely going to be out and about anyway. The gathering area is really nice with a gas fire pit, enclosed sand area - perfect for little John Deere tractor excavators of the world, canopy covered dining table, horse shoes, corn hole and other family games. Like morning walks? You will walk for miles. Great street side walking trails that go for what looks like miles into the hills or jump across the street to walk the canal through meandering through crop fields. Bathrooms are clean, laundry area clean. You can walk to a stellar convenience store, grab a pizza at a new little plaza, or get your morning latte as you head out for a walk. Camp hosts are serious about being the hosts with the mosts.

We were trying out our new trailer, and we ended up in the best spot too! The store has most everything you need, and we visited it at least 10 times on the full day we were there. It's right down the road from the boat launch on canyon ferry lake, and they are so friendly! They even have a bunch family games you can borrow for free! We played ax throwing, gigantic connect 4, and corn hole, but there was a lot more like lawn darts and other stuff. The blonde lady that I didn't get her name, was so nice! And my friend Sue, from the Mint, she works there too, and it was wonderful! They even lent us a bbq so we could make dinner! And they drove it to our site! Really, it's hard to imagine them being any more accommodating to our family! Good job KOA! We will be back!

Second site was much better put hubby add to modify the sew pipe that had in ground, was way to high with no slop. So, the wind here can be very high, 50-60 mph , so make sure you have your skirting secured. They Do Not do snow removal at camp ground. Other then these issues , we did enjoy our stay. We got to see rams and prong horns. They roamed all over the came ground was cool.

The prompt: "Amazing! What went well?"…read more Nothing. I'm trying to recount the amount of bad times in my life that I've had that could compare to this one, and I'm grasping at straws. First of all, I didn't park in the parking lot because I guess I'm stupid. I plugged the mountain into the GPS and it took me to the nearest trailhead (not the parking lot associated with it). GIS data am I right? It's brilliant, but not intuitive.... Typically engineer stuff. It's like having Spock as your right hand man. Anyway, I park by these beautiful houses, I take my beasts out to roam.. with the intent of throwing rocks into the, "H" that overlooks our town as a gesture of solidarity. Meanwhile, Jacksie (my little baby girl) she's hormonal because she's about to start... SHE DISAPPEARED. I guess you could say I got, gone girl'd. Me and Djinn submitted, and did our civic duty, and then we hoofed it looking for, Jacksnthebox. Didn't find her. Where is she? I got a text shortly thereafter saying, "hey is your white dog missing?". Yes. "She's at XYZ address, you should scoop her." Me and Djinnyrd Skynyrd went grab the original beast; got there, picked her up, and started looking for my car... which at this point I realized, I had lost. Finally found the car, and quickly learned that I had lost my keys during the hike. (Fell out of my pocket.). Happy 4th of July, Marcus. Anyway... a 2 day ordeal, 30 miles worth of walking, blisters on my feet, AAA, and a locksmith turned it out alright. We basically could not sit outside. There are firings and we did start a fire but the bugs made it impossible to enjoy it. It was quiet but I think it is a party site because it's free and our fire pit was filled with burned Up beer cans. No complaints because it was convenient for us and they do not charge however I would take a lot of bug spray.

The maintenance guy here has a giant problem and instead of taking it up with the males in the group he goes to the youngest, most petite female in the car who had two babies with her. Our four year old granddaughter had to use the restroom. My husband who is a veteran of three wars says "stop here, as a kid I used to camp here all the time and they're typically good people.". Couldn't have been further from the truth. He came over to the vehicle stuck his hands inside, screamed, and yelled, and cussed at my daughter and demanded a dollar. My husband gets out of the vehicle and tells him to back away from the vehicle and "terry" the toilet guy of the property (maintenance I assume because he was in a Good Sam's golf cart) threatens to call the cops because a four year old child used the bathroom on "his private property". My daughter scrambled for money and that is when her husband comes out of the office with the 4 year old who used the restroom. My daughter tries to give him the money with an extra dollar for his troubles and he then denies the money and says I don't want your effing money, GTFOH. It was the most unsettling experience I've ever had. The guy is unhinged. Make sure and check out the review from the guy from Florida. He posted a picture of the psycho coocoo head we had to deal with. I wouldn't book a stay here if you paid me a million dollars.

Great Alternative to the State Park…read more This is a small, well-kept campground just off the highway, about 15 minutes from Lewis & Clark Caverns. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. We had a tent site in the back, and all sites are conveniently close to the bathrooms, which were extremely clean and recently updated. A nice bonus--there's free use of a washer and dryer, plus stream access. The highway is nearby, so there is some road noise, but it didn't bother us. We were initially disappointed that we couldn't get into the state park, but this ended up being an even better option. On-site, there's a food truck serving amazing BBQ, live music, a small bar, a general store, and even a gas station. Everything you need is right there. Would definitely stay here again!

The owner( I think he never fully introduced himself and had been on one of the 2 lawnmowers) helped me get the glass cleaned up and triied to call for repairs, but after that, radio silence. He still hasn't answered my text 8 hours later. He said he didn't cut through site #2 on his mower ( I was in site #1), but later that evening, I saw the tractor mower cut through site #2. The least he could do was offer to refund the night's fees. Cute general store, and they serve ice cream, but no integrity as a business owner.
