My wife and I used this station as our gateway to get to other parts of Manhattan and ultimately to get back to JFK airport. The NYC subway system originally operated as three separate, competing companies [IRT - Interborough Rapid Transit; BMT - Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit; IND - Independent Subway System] before unifying in 1940. Numbered trains represent former IRT lines, whereas Lettered trains represent former BMT and IND trains. The Flushing Line platform (1 island platform with 2 tracks) opened in 1926 as part of the IRT. It now services the 7 train. The Sixth Avenue Line station (2 island platform with 4 tracks) opened in 1940 as part of the IND. It now services the B, D, F, and M trains. An underground passageway between the two stations was completed in 1971, allowing for free in-system transfers. The complex is the 13th busiest station in the system.

Great way to stay dry if you work in the area during the winter or the rain storm and have to get from the train station to Path/Brookfield Place, etc. Various exits will lead you to where you need to go, but one should know or have to figure out which exit to take or ask someone. Escalators in the Fulton Center will lead you to certain trains - mid-level is the 4,5 and lower levels are the rest. Follow the signs. The Fulton Center Station also has Dunkin and other eateries where you can purchase snacks and food if you need to grab a snack before you head to/from your destination. Also, refill your Omni card now that Metrocard has been retired, or just tap your credit/debit card to pay.

I mostly go to the front of the platform the J going to Jamaica since the front of the platform is much more bearable. The end of the platform got a lot of smokers. J trains take forever to come compared to the 4 and 5 trains, which come like every second. Sucks that the J trains take forever. Got so much anxiety and impatience waiting in this train station. Also sometimes the train is packed when the previous station is Broad Street, the last stop on the J train. So why is the J train packed with no seats at Fulton?!?

I was on Franklin Avenue needing to go to the other side of Brooklyn ... Utica Avenue. I mapped it out via iPhone directions. I first had to enter the Franklin Avenue station find the "S" as in shuttle to catch the C train to Utica. First, finding the "S" was a maze at Franklin Avenue platform; I climbed a myriad of flights of stairs, up, down and sideways to catch the Shuttle. I boarded the S train and two stops-Park Place-then Franklyn Avenue. Then climb more stairs to catch C train to Utica. All I can say is, this procedure allowed me to really walk steps to close my rings on my Apple Watch faster than usual. The shuttle us s good idea and yes, you do see elevated perspectives like Botanical Garden. Now, let the MTA work on the ten flights of stairs I climb from the 4th Avenue station to catch the G.

Wow the improvements from what I can remember includes an elevator and stain glass windows. The platform used to be wood frame that would shake, you could feel the vibration as the train pulled into the station, now it is sturdy and concrete. There are now two trains cars which run between Franklin Ave and Prospect Park. The north bound Franklin Ave station has one escalator going up and you will have to take the ascending steps down stairs or take an elevator to the street level or to the lower level where you can connect to the "C" train. The south bound stop, Prospect Park connects you to the "Q", "B" or "D" train in either direction. When I was growing up the first station stop on the Franklin Shuttle after leaving Franklin Avenue was Dean Street, which remained open until 1996, but due to lack of ridership that station was torn down. On November 1, 1918, a five-car wooden elevated train derailed and crashed into one of the new tunnel walls, killing at least 93 people. This accident, called the "Malbone Street Wreck" was the worst MTA accident ever. Four stars because it is a clean station there's always an attendant visible however, the escalator does not operate consistently, it's like throwing dice...maybe it will work....maybe not.

The station was clean and I loved the nostalgic wall if you will highlighting,, of course, Prospect Park. The Carousel is one special highlight of the Park as well as the glorious Boathouse utilized for weddings. The station sits between Ocean Avenue and Flatbush Avenue. The sign for the Bklyn Botanical Garden reminds you that the Garden is roughly a ten minute walk from this station. I believe it leads you the back entrance of Garden at Eastern Parkway. I also loved the old colored tiling that dotted the interior and exterior of Station. Another great aha moment is if I wanted to take a bus back to Bay Ridge, the B16 is located outside the station; it's good to have alternative mode of transportation. In addition, there are a plethora of restaurants outside the station. Best thing: 2 minute walk to Prospect Park!

They were created by ceramic artist Leo Grozwol in collaboration with fifth and six grade students from a local school (Public School 41)." "The murals are divided into four sets of three murals each, with the following subtitles: Bohemians, Founders, Providers, and Rebels. There is a key for each set of murals on the wall nearby, helping visitors to identify each person featured in the murals." Wow, learn something new every day. This station is always busy, serviced by the 7th Avenue Local Line 1 train and also 2 when it runs local at night, however unfortunately MTA has no immediate plans to make it accessible with ADA compliant upgrades. That being said, in 1994 MTA installed tile mosaic murals designed by P.S. 41 students guided by artist and Lower East Side social worker Lee Brozgol - a work that captures the rich historic figures that shaped not only the West Village, but many whose influence extended throughout the U.S. and globally. Decent sized subway station that serves the E,R and M trains. There are four tracks here with two…read morefor each direction. The platforms are pretty decent sized so you don't feel like you have to get too close to the tracks when its crowded. There are a few seats spread out as well as timers for the trains which almost every station seems to have now. They added the new screens on the platforms which give you more info than the timers. The new screens have maps of the stops as well as when the next train is coming and the timers just tell when you the next train is coming. The timers are pretty accurate overall but they can change pretty quickly too. Pretty sure it's a 24 hour booth but there is a token booth here which I think is always good. A human presence is a good thing I think. Of course there are plenty of machines to buy or reload your metro cards.
