You will not be able to find it unless you get a local as the tour guide. The best way to go down to diesel lake, is to go down to the lake streets all the way to the end of the lake street. It's a good trail to just walk around the lake or do some jogging in the morning if you are in the neighborhood.

What a fun, adventurous river tubing experience for the whole family. Some parts of this river is…read moreslower, some parts faster moving, a good variety and speed. We arrived around 12:30 noon, paid, everyone got a wristband, took a tube (and life vests for the younger kids), loaded with the tubs onto the yellow school bus that took us about a 10 minutes ride to the upper part of river. By the time we got into the river to start, we can see the water rising quickly from the release of the water from the upper part of the dam. (No point to come too early as the water level was too low so you're not going fast down the river, until the water rises.) And that's where the fun & adventure starts! This place was well run, very affordable price (compared to other places nearby), the family running the place nice. There are 2 clean porta potties and lots of tables where everyone can have lunch after. Great fun to social distance and be in the water and the great outdoors. We brought strings to tie some of the tubes together for the kids. And we saw some people even bring their own paddles. Unlike some places, they aren't strict with what type of shoes you wear (if you want to at all). I was hesitant to take my family there due to some negative reviews but this place didn't disappoint. Highly recommend and we'll surely come back.

It was about a 1-1.5hr tubing ride which was a perfect length. Had truly a great time, and ended with hot dogs and root beer floats!! There are several trailheads to enter this park - we started at the West Dugway Road entrance near Route 7 and took the Cold Spring Trail, This easy/moderate trail took as past the eponymous Cold Spring (charming!) which then led us to one of the larger and easiest trails - Woolsley and Coakley Main. From there, we took a more challenging route along Pondside and Balance Rock (steep and rocky - but if you take it slow, you'll be fine!). We retraced our steps and exited back to our car via the Bridges Trail ... But enough about the trails - suffice to say, there are many, and they'll take you past a large variety of ridges and vales and all tremendously appealing and gorgeous. Well worth a visit - nay, multiple visits!

A great quiet spot with varied types of trees and ATV trails that are well groomed and look tick safe as well. The rocks themselves are interesting glacial erratics clustered in the woods near the "balancing rick" which in itself is really cool to see. Sadly the lowlife dragnuckled troglodytes who have also sought this spot out for their own nefarious rituals have left their marks like beasts urinating and defecating in some desperate plea to be memorialized before their puerile and vacuous little lives come to a miserable end. The rocks have been tagged and carved over the years leaving the main attraction a sad wreckage of nature that also reflects how rare it is today to see natural beauty as yet undefiled by a plebeian urban mob better served by a bag of party sized Doritos couch side with Call of Duty gun fire blaring on the big screen. A video camera with night vision should be set up at sites like this to catch the miscreants so they can be rounded up and put to work repairing the damage they do in the world. I know that the park system is strapped for cash now and understaffed but someone should really check more often to remove at least the most offensive messages and other garbage left on these blighted stones. The swastika needs to go!

We've gone to other places in the area to rent paddleboards, kayaks, etc., and folks charge an arm…read moreand a leg (I'm looking at y'all, places in Dover). High County Marine definitely has the best prices, from my experience. The reservation system is pretty straight forward, although make sure if you're renting more than one of the same type of equipment, each item should have a different number (kayak 1, kayak 2, etc). Also, you should make sure you bring anyone using the equipment up to sign a waiver and get fitted for life jackets. And the people there are really great. You can tell that they enjoy their jobs. And they are really understanding when you want to make changes and they explain things thoroughly, especially the woman who seems to run the show (probably because people don't listen well or don't take care of the equipment). If you want solid equipment, at a fair price, with easy access to the reservoir, definitely go with High Country Marine.

We made the mistake of thinking that our reservation was 5-7 PM. We showed up at 5. They close at 6. It would seem we still have 1 hour of our reservation left either way, no? Well, no. When we got there they rudely told us we were an hour late and they "put away" our paddleboards. If we had come at 4 we would've been out until 6 anyways...I truly don't see a difference. They don't cite a cancellation policy online. Anyways, the entire interaction was incredibly rude and they were very condescending and acted like they couldn't believe we could've gotten the time wrong. Innocent mistake, not very kind or understanding company.
