My daughter took my three year old twice in the last two weeks to rent skis here. The rental assistance was minimal at best. They did not tell us where to go, did not assist in getting a helmet, and did not fit her skis either time. The second day, her bindings were too big for her skis and they needed adjusting--this could have been avoided had they checked initially. The drop off of rental gear was also unclear, as it said to place skis on a rack to return them, but then fences prevented me from doing so. The attendants were not there so I had to leave them just over the gate. Quite bad service. On the bright side, the lift attendants at the ballroom carpet were friendly, helpful and high-fived my daughter throughout the day, which added positively to our experience.

Great experience overall. Rented skis/ got day pass and everything was quick and efficient. Customer service was great at the rental desk. I remember a guy named Iah helped me out, answered my questions, and honestly started my experience off super well. Set the tone for a really good day of skiing.

I came here a couple times this winter and it was really good. I enjoyed the variety of terrain and the low key vibe here. I like that there are several different areas to go to. The mountain has something for everyone, from wide groomers to off piste glades, the only set back I experienced is that as a new comer to this mountain, it would be helpful if the chairlifts had labels atop the off load stations this would make it easier to get your bearing for where you are located, or you are here labeled on the maps at the top of the chairlifts.

Nice visit last weekend to check out what Meadows has to offer in the summertime. We arrived at about 9am last Sunday to check out the available hikes. It was pretty dead when we arrived. We were greeted on the patio by very pleasant employees who notified us what entertainment was offered. They provided us a map of the trails that included info on each. They also helped by making suggestions of routes based off of our particular desires. We were also informed we could pay (19$) to take a scenic ride up a lift, play games on the patio, and that the restaurant was open. We opted for one of the treks suggested and took off on an approximately 4 mile hike. The grounds are stunning...flowers in the sunny runs, shade in the beautiful trees, loads of birds, and we spotted a deer. The winding paths are well marked and maintained, no trash! Apparently they show movies on the deck on the weekends and you can park your RV overnight for 15$ on the premises on Friday and Saturday nights (reserve online). We very much enjoyed our morning; a wonderful hike and good (but semi-pricey) burgers/fries from the restaurant. Nice hikes, beautiful views, and friendly service...recommend!

I'm a somewhat newer skier and had only been to ski bowl at mt. Hood, but decided to take advantage of the spring pass with lesson package here. It is an amazing deal - $300 for access through the end of the season, unlimited rentals, and 3 lessons??? Yes please! Just last month I spent about the same amount to ski for 2 days at Mt. Bachelor with 15 min lines to get onto the chairlifts. I can't speak for meadows at peak season, but as of end of March it isn't crowded at all, runs are very nicely groomed, and we were literally skiing right to the chairlifts and going back up with no lines. As long as you make your rental reservations in advance, they have a very efficient process for getting you in boots/skis given the amount of people picking up rentals in the morning. My first lesson was extremely helpful with a great instructor who had been an instructor there since the 90s and only 2 other people in my class. I am so amazed by this spring pass deal and look forward to finishing out the season/coming back to check it out next winter.

went today and my friend who has never been skiing before asked this guy at the ski rental place how to put on her skis on and he told her "I don't know just do it. I've been skiing since I was a kid" and then we asked another guy and told him that the other guy said that and he said "i don't know we're all stoners here figure it out". made my friend so uncomfortable. otherwise its fun and a good place to ski. might just be the staff.

The weather is much different up here than it is near Portland. There is a ton of snow up here even when Portland doesn't have a speck of snow. The ski resort has a relatively small parking lot. There is a slight chance that the parking lot fills up if you come too late. You can reserve a rental for skis and snow shoes. They have multiple hills you can ski down. They have multiple trails you can walk. Please inspect the equipment at the rental location. My friend got a snow shoe that was missing a latch. The restaurants are pretty nice. The spiked warm drinks are pretty amazing. I got the Meadows hot chocolate and it was delicious.

Struggling to keep up during COVID amidst the current labor challenges, but they're hanging in and keeping us safe while keeping the lifts running and snow plowed. Great family fun and great way to get above the clouds

Great ski resort, not too touristy, great food. Was a bit on the pricy side but we enjoyed everything Meadows had to offer. Well done, Meadows! Keep it up.

I did not come here to skii but to hit up the trails and check out Mt. Hood. being mid June Mt. Hood still sported a very good amount of snow. It was not reachable from the trails I took but it sure was a great view. The trails were nice but there was a lot of local scat lying about and the mosquito starting to have a field day so I had to cut my trek short. I arrived before many of the summer programs begin during July so it was actually very quiet and peaceful.

I very much appreciated this gesture and do believe that management cares about the guest experience at Timberline. We finally booked our free stay about one year after our initial stay. I was SO excited to hear while checking in that they were now offering a free continental breakfast to all staying at the hotel! Their $30+ breakfast buffet was outrageous, and a free option for how much you're spending on the hotel room felt like the least they could offer. However, I was extremely disappointed to discover that the continental breakfast consists of cereal, apples, toast and pastries. Not a protein in sight, nor a non dairy milk. The flow of traffic into the continental breakfast area of the Cascade dining room was also poorly designed and created a lot of unnecessary issues with flow. Although a free breakfast is a step in the right direction, it was still disappointing considering our off-peak weekday stay came in at $430 (I think they can swing some powdered eggs or even just some yogurt for that much money). Overall, my opinion of the beds/ rooms hasn't changed much; the beds are horribly uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin. Our shower was larger and did drain this time so I'll take that win. I enjoy visiting Timberline but won't be staying the night again.

Cooper Spur is a great place for families to learn to ski…read more First, lets start with the price. For $400, you can get your *entire family* a season pass that is good for lift tickets *and* rentals. If you can commit to going 4, 5, or 6 times, that is a killer deal. Pencil out your alternatives, and you will definitely not find any less expensive options. You can use some of the money you save to get some ski school or individual instruction, which is well worth it. Consider it an investment in your families' future entertainment for years to come. The lodge is cozy but unpretentious and comfortable enough. Free wifi is handy, so you can send messages to family members (even if you don't get cell service on the mountain, at least they'll get the message when they get back into wifi). Food is just fine for what it is. The ski lift and runs are nice for beginners. They have a good rope tow to get started with, and then the ski lift isn't too difficult. They have a handful of runs ranging from beginner to intermediate. Even though the runs aren't long, the ski lift doesn't get too busy. Parking can be a problem, and sometimes you need to ride a shuttle up from the lot down by the resort (about 1 mile away). Also the rental center can be very busy, and a line can form that can take 30-45+ minutes to get through. Neither are a huge deal, but all things considered it is a good idea to arrive as early as possible to get good parking and avoid the rush. If you do have to wait, just practice some patience -- you'll get on the mountain eventually. They also have a very small tube hill (I haven't done this, but it looks pretty measly, so I wouldn't make a special trip up just for this) and options for nordic (cross-country skiing / snow-shoeing). If you get the family season pass deal, for another $40 you can add-on nordic rentals and access, which seems like a good deal if you'd like to have some variety. One other nice option is that, coming from Portland, you can take HW 26 (through Government Camp) or US 35 (though Hood River). It is good to have options, as traffic on 26 can back up on popular ski days. Also, there are lots of great restaurants in Hood River that can be enjoyed after a full day of skiing.

We did multiple activities including the toboggan, Indy cars, and batting cages. The Indy cars we were most excited about but was extremely poorly run. They were down to a single iPad for entering in "account information" which would disconnect frequently and massively hold up the lines. Also with folks rotating helmets left and right you were subject to a sweaty helmet straight from the head of another patron to yours. Would have loved some level of sanitation or head cover in between. It felt disorganized and frantic getting people through. Then there was the batting cages which honestly were a sad excuse for what a cage should be. For one, as expressed in many other reviews there simply aren't enough bats. There's one single adult sized bat there split across say 6 different cages which as you can imagine creates quite the bottleneck when trying to participate. Also the majority of the helmets are either falling apart or way too big. Just gave the feeling of knowing it's a problem and not wanting to fix it. Expect a wait if you're looking to get more than a couple swings in, or a bent children's bat for that matter. Lastly was just the general things like empty hand sanitizers, no paper towels in the men's bathroom, things that aren't that major but just add up when you see it consistently across multiple areas. Especially for the price you pay for a pass, it just didn't seem accounted for. I enjoyed time friends but would by no means recommend or rush back to this summer activity as it is simply not worth the drive out from Portland.

Timberline Summit Pass Five Stars, No Waiting, All Smiles…read more Timberline Summit Pass came in clutch. On a day when Mount Hood Meadows was an absolute zoo road backed up for miles, cars abandoned like a snowbound parade, and humans standing in line like cattle waiting for a bus that may or may not arrive sometime next season we made the executive decision to pivot. Best call of the day. Parking at Meadows? Forget it. Shuttle line? Wrapped around the block. And I'm not exaggerating when I say it looked like ten busloads of people standing there at 11 a.m., staring into the abyss, hoping luck would smile upon them. Minimum hour wait if you're lucky... and that's before tickets, walking, and lift lines. Meanwhile, we rolled over to Timberline Summit Pass, found a miracle parking spot near a snow berm, walked about five feet, and were basically done. For around $47, this pass is an absolute steal. I'm an avid skier, and they had fresh powder, nicely groomed runs, and everything running smoothly. No chaos. No stress. Just skiing. We wanted to ski early and get home for a Ducks game and this setup delivered perfectly. While everyone else was still standing around burning daylight, we were already making turns. We skied, we laughed, we didn't rush, and when we were done, we cruised down to Rat Settlers for pizza and lunch like civilized adults. All in, about a hundred bucks for the two of us two older folks just farting around on skis, enjoying the mountain. My wife even got to break in a brand-new set of skis, which is exactly what this little mountain is perfect for. That's the beauty of Summit Pass: it's not trying to be everything. It's fun, beautiful, efficient, and ideal for warming up, getting reps in, or introducing kids and folks who haven't skied all year. No $100+ tickets. No $300 "premium experience." Just honest skiing at a fair price. Big kudos to Timberline Summit Pass. We made the most of our day while others wasted theirs in line, and I'll absolutely be back with the kids, with friends, and anytime I want a low-stress, high-fun day on the snow. You truly can't beat the price or the experience.

You can park down at Summit, ride the shuttle to Timberline, get on the Mile and if running, the Palmer lift to head to the top of that ski area, then take the Alpine 4+ miles down to summit pass to catch the next shuttle. Woohooooo! I have not done this yet as I'm only on day 5 from a 15+ year absence from skiing. Eventually I'll get back up to Timberline and work my way to the alpine. This is a ski area so prices for food and drink prices will be high. Be prepared. The food is good but early in the morning chili is a bit chilly. Hot sausage is cool temperature wise. But both are good when you need the energy. Today I had chili tots. Still too cold. But there's beer and a few hard alcohol drinks you can wash everything down. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Erin on the new magic carpet is very supportive and encourages all to keep going. Thanks Erin. Ski lift seats are mostly hard wood without a foot rest or bar to pull down. but it gets you up to the top of this ski area. The jump off is low and the runout is steep. Tip, ride the lift to the edge of the fall away and then push off the chair. The slopes are groomed but a bit icy today (two weeks ago). Later when the sun came out the snow softened. This place reminds me of where I learned to ski; small two lift Mama-Papa places in Japan. Except Summit is missing the Kirn Ichiban beer, Yakitori and steaming hot bao. But that was like another lifetime for me. This ski area is has everything I need to meet my "Get Back On The Snow" goal. It's open every day from 9:am, it has food and drinks, ski rentals, a magic carpet, one lift and a shuttle to the top when I'm ready. Ahh yes, very comfortable, but I do miss the bao.
