If you are in Freycinet National Park, and would like a more challenging hike other than the popular Winglass Bay hike, this is for you !
Recommended time = 3- 5 hours.
Be warned. This hike is DIFFICULT + CHALLENGING. This is probably the most difficult hike I have ever done in my life. Some parts are sheer slippery rocks where you literally have to pull yourself up, hoping you dont slip. I was lucky to have my boyfriend with me because if not, I wouldnt have made it up to the top. However, once you are on top of Mt Amos, the scenery is rewarding. It can be pretty windy up there, so pack in a light jacket so that you can enjoy the scenery longer. We made it back in about 3.5 hours and in one piece! (though I have a few cuts on my hands, and bruises on my knees)
If you can, pack light, bring lots of water (i know, it's heavy), hike with a companion (so that you can help each other out) and wear some proper hiking shoes so that you have more grip.
