There were several stores that were interesting to look around in and plenty of places to sit and relax and enjoy the live music playing. This area I would definitely be able to happily spend a long time hanging around at. MSA has really become a great spot in the west side. What's not to like? They've got Westbound, Kukai, decibel coffee, Beaut burger, and now Rollies for food options. Plus so many lovely shops to choose from such as Why I Love Where I Live, Transit Cycles, Arid lands, among others. The concert area is awesome too. They host outdoor yoga in addition to the flam Chen shows, live music, and various other special events. The MSA is always lively and especially enjoyable in the cooler months. I came here for a FLOW FOR THE SOUL concert festival and loved the vibes! This is a family friendly place. There are lots of restaurants and shops. My favorite restaurant here is Rollies Mexican and got coffee I like Decibel. The prices are reasonable and there is plenty of seating area l around. The MSA annex is a great concept and has a lot of places I love that I have reviewed individually. But I can't believe I don't see any other reviews mentioning the bathrooms! They don't have AC. At all. So you can imagine how hot it gets in there when it's 100+ outside. It's absolutely sweltering! And they're not always the cleanest, despite having the door code - and it's just amplified by the heat. Come for the food and shopping - leave before you need to use the restroom. read more

The MSA Annex is a fun, unique place to visit with out-of-town guests or on your own. Each shop is housed in a modified shipping container with walkways between, and all are locally owned. Keep an eye out for special events like Night Market and acts on the Main Stage. One downside to the MSA Annex is that most of the shops close at 6 pm, which is not convenient if you work typical, daytime business hours. Exceptions to the 6 pm closing time include Beaut Burger (plant-based eatery) and Kukai (Japanese eatery), which are open until 8:30 pm. Westbound Bar and Bottle Shop is open until 9-11 pm, depending on the day of the week. Why I Love Where I Live stays open until 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. During the summer, Mesa and Turntable are open only Thursday-Sunday until 8 pm. Bottom line, check hours before traveling! You also should be aware that while the shops may be air conditioned and heated, Westbound's bar area and the eating areas for Beaut Burger and Kukai are outdoors or inside open-sided shipping containers. There are some misters and overhead heaters in place, but they won't help much if the temperature is above 100 degrees or below 50 degrees. On those days, you probably should get your B2 Burger or Mt. Fuji Don to go. Finally, the best options for parking are along S. Linda or across from the Mercado along South Avenida del Convento. read more

I love love love this place! I strolled around Saturday and had the absolute best time with a friend finding cool gift ideas for other friends, my mom, and of course lunch at Beaut Burger. Do not miss out on their fried cauliflower. I don't even like cauliflower and I crave this now. The shop owners are all friendly, and it's a great place to people watch. I bought a cool mask at MESA and a cool duo of stemless wine glasses at Tap and Bottle's wine & beer store. FYI, besides great coffee snd espresso drinks, Decibel Coffee has excellent breakfasts like eggs Benedict with their own unique spin, and very tasty, in-house made pastries. Think muffins and scones. I found a couple books I must have in Petroglyphs, as well as a day of the dead gorgeous wall hanging. Go and spend the morning with a friend. You won't regret it. read more

I was searching for Beaut Burger, and came upon MSA Annex - which makes sense, as Beaut Burger is inside. This place is absolutely lovely. It's an outdoor "shopping" area, that is compact and cute, and all the buildings are metal shipping containers. It is in an area that seems to be up and coming, and this place is a necessary stop! There's enough to explore, drink, or eat to spend at least an hour here! For this stop, I went straight to Beaut Burger (definite plant-based, tasty stop for vegans and non-vegans alike!), and ate enjoying the gorgeous day, and the tasteful set up of the Annex. When I was done eating, I looked around "Why I love Where I Live" - a very ADORABLE Arizona themed store. The MSA Annex also has a cute little coffee shop, bar, and additional boutique stores - all of which I'll need to explore out during my second visit! Westbound is one of my favorites with the beers that they offer. Beau Burger is also a staple at this location where you could get a delicious vegan burger and vegan items that are fantastic and have great flavor and great texture. Why I love where I live is a great store where you could get Tucson themed items. So you could represent where you live and show the love. Several of the places have happy hour pricing for some delicious cold beers or drinks if you would like to take that. I love the idea of this place but the execution is a smidge off. First, the water fountains are south facing so they get super hot. The water is hot and the button is hot. They need a sunshade over them. They have sunshades elsewhere, which are wonderful. Second, all the stores have their own hours. Some are open at 11, others at 1130 and some only open certain days. I was left wondering around trying to figure what was opened. There is a coffee shop available early but everything else is closed. One of the opened shops even shared the same frustrations with me. Otherwise I loved - Why I Loved Where I Live and all the store owners are all so sweet. The inside of the shipping containers are cold (YAY AC!), beautiful and individually decorated. The shopping center itself is small but it appears you can grab a drink and walk around (Westbound was closed so we couldn't ask). I definitely want to go back and try Beaut Burger, vegan burger joint and I'm told a Japanese restaurant is opening too. Very exciting news. Overall, a cute local shopping district with only local shops. If you read my reviews you know I'm all about supporting local! So go, grab a drink, food and have fun. read more

The MSA Annex is such a cool place to go to. Whether its for a cup of coffee or to go shopping. This morning I took my Miniature Schnauzer for a walk there and grabbed a coffee at Decibel Coffee Works. It is dog friendly at the Annex and this morning there was at least 4 dogs there with their owners. I just love seeing all the new stores popping up. It is so clean and such a great atmosphere there. Lots of places to sit and relax so you can enjoy a drink or a cup of coffee. read more

This place caters to a very specific crowd, if you have a sprinter van, a Subaru, Rae Dunn anything, a fixie that had to be payed in installments, or genuinely love IPA's you will not be able to find a better place to hang out in Tucson. First - the ambiance is amazing (unless it's the summer ) but this was during the winter and they had the fire out going. So cozy and just a fun place in general. You're able to visit the little shops (everything closes at different times so do your homework..) and theirs a bar and a choice of restaurants. We got some sushi and some ramen - even though my vegetable ramen didn't have any in it, it really tasted of fish which for me was a turn off. My sister said the sushi was so/so... I ended up venturing over to Beat Burger and had a vegan meal over there. Now that place is 10/10. Their fries were awesome lol! read more

Avenue Boutique, Transit Cycles, WestBound, Why I Love Where I Live, Dust Heritage, Lucca Ryann, Now or Never (has my favorite perfumes), Fletcher and Co, Beaut Burger hurray! Such a cool place. We visited during the Night Market last night. We walked through the normal shops and the visiting vendors' tents. Nice clothing, jewelry and home decor. Some neat locally made or themed items are available. At the Night Market, there was a dj outside and live music inside. We ate dinner from one of the food trucks and had a beverage from one of the bars. All age groups were there. Plenty of parking. A little crowded to walk around but still a good time. I love this place. The Sunday morning flea market is great. There's only one thing that I would reccomend against and that is the usage of the ATM located near the restrooms. I went to withdraw but did not get my cash or a receipt and when I tried calling the number on the ATM itself, they were very rude and refused to help. They wouldn't even provide the company name and when calling it appears as if it is just someone's personal cell. Save yourself the trouble and stop by a bank first. read more

Tucson is pulling out all the stops lately with some of their new businesses. The MSA Annex, although still under construction, boasts what appears to be a new music stage and shopping complex. Complete with a small "I Love Where I Live" store, burger joint, bike shop, boutiques, and bar area, this place has promise to be a popular nighttime escape. We happened to be there during the recent rains and weren't phased by the outdoor seating. We managed to snag a spot up against the bar that kept us from the worst of it. The beer selection is nice, but newcomers should note that if you shop from the bottleshop, it's To-Go only. The location is excellent, centered between the new SunLink routes and an easy bike ride from the wash. The new parking structure being built will likely help when the stage is completed. Although I only stopped by for a beer, I was thoroughly impressed and excited to see what awaits this area. read more

I heard lots of great things about the MSA annex and was super excited to check it out! It's a shopping center made of shipping containers that hosts 13 small local businesses just south of Mercado San Agustín. I walked around all the stores, looking to buy an affordable gift for a friend. Now or Never sells home decor, gifts and natural skincare products. I wanted to buy something, that was cute and understated so I bought a $30 reusable water bottle. It is elegant, minimal, eco friendly, and easily fits into a purse. Bonus, every memobottle sold provides one person with two months' access to clean water. I also got a free perfume sample. Also went into another cute store, Why I Love Where I Live, Instagram account turned pop-up shop, turned local store. After purchasing the water bottle I looked around more, took pictures and went to get a beer. The bartenders at Westbound were super nice and helpful. One bartender patiently dealt with an obnoxious drunk male duo for the entirety of my visit. When I asked one of them to take a picture of me for my instagram, they happily said yes and got a couple angles of me drinking my craft beer. All in all, super hip and very instagrammable shopping center. Will bring friends from out of town. Perfume sample is still kicking. read more
