This was must smaller of a place than we realized. There were a few cute shops to look at and some live music in the center, which was nice. Overall, doesn't seem like the kind of place to hangout at for a long period of time. The place itself wasn't kept clean. However, I did end up buying some Blueberry Cacao jam from a local shop that ended up being delicious! Also, it is a must to go to La Estrella Bakery. Do not miss this gem! The wonderful thing about coming to Mercado San Agustin in Tucson is that it's contained- but in a relaxing way. This outdoor market is small enough that you can cover the whole place and make a day out of it. It features a nice mix of boutiques, artisan shops and cafes all nestled around a courtyard creating an inviting feel. My kid and I enjoyed a smoothie and fresh pressed juice on a gorgeous warm morning. COVID19 Update: It's about time for an update. I love the MSA. It's home to locally owned businesses that reflects what our Tucson community is all about. All of the businesses are open with the pandemic going on, but with some adjustments! Know before you go: Mask up! Even entering the mercado, please wear a mask. They have signage up to remind the public. The shared courtyard which was formerly a place for people to gather, enjoy a meal, coffee or listen to music is no longer open for those activities. The tables have been moved out. But if you wish to sit on the stairs in the patio, you are welcome to. To Eat and Drink: Agustin Kitchen: Open for takeout and dine in on the patio. Seis Kitchen: to go only. Presta Coffee Roasters: takeout only. You can order online directly from their website or order in person. La Estrella Bakery: Open for normal hours. It's always been a takeout type of set-up. Dolce Pastello and Sonoran Sno-Cones are also open and have always been a takeout ordering system. To Shop, there's MAST, Bloom Maven floral and plant shop, San Agustin Trading Co, La Cabaña. Check with each store for their hours. The Thursday farmers market is still operating during COVID19 with changes to the operation to make it safe for everyone. The market runs in the morning during the Summer time. This cute little outdoor plaza is a true Tucson gem. I wish there were more places in town like Mercado as it's got so much to offer for every kind of visitor. Grab a coffee at Presta, a pastry at La Estrella and some food at Seis. You can even do a little shopping! We used to come here after hiking Tumamoc and it was always a nice treat. They have lots of events that happen like night markets and weekend thrift shops. Check it out if you're in town visiting or even a local looking for something to do. read more

This is a must if you visit Tucson! The staff was amazing (Tanya helped us and was very knowledgeable on the menu), the outdoor dining was perfect and the food was fantastic. We came late in the evening on a Monday, so there wasn't much going on, but it wasn't too crowded and we got seated right away. The food and cocktails were on par and just what we were looking for. We couldn't have picked a better place for dinner with friends and we will for sure be back. read more

I absolutely love the Mercado San Agustin. The property itself is beautiful, charming, peaceful, serene, and always clean and cared for. In the center, there's the courtyard with some green space and a variety of different seating options for the various eating spots in the building that boxes around the courtyard. The seating is all shaded, and most of it is comfortable. There's also some relatively new, decent, shared seating with longer tables inside the building, near Stella Java/Sonora SnoCones. Seating inside was much needed for a long time, so it's good to see that it has been added! The shops inside of the Mercado are locally owned and they make fantastic products. You can get everything from breakfast burritos to lunch to fancy dinner to dessert to coffee here, and all at different shops! It's awesome! There's also some shops to buy knick knacks, furniture, and decorations. Most stuff is more rustic in style, which is not for me, but I still love walking through the shops. What I love so much about my time here is the feel of the atmosphere. It feels like you're in a quaint little neighborhood, where everyone is relaxed and nice to interact with. I always feel so at peace here, and I never want to leave. It's a real gem in Tucson, for sure! And now, the streetcar stops here! No excuse to not go to the Mercado and try some of the awesome foods and treats available there! You won't regret your time there! read more

What a cute place! Located in downtown Tucson, this place offers unique shopping all held within a lovely atmosphere. We absolutely adored the flower shop. Very friendly customer service, and the quality of each flower product was fantastic. I didn't notice anything wilted, and the employees answered all of my questions about this one type of succulent (super exciting stuff). The desserts were interesting. I always enjoy the atmosphere when we visit the Mercado. My first stop is always for coffee. This morning I enjoyed a Dirty Chai Latte. It was perfect! As an added bonus he warmed up my travel cup with hot water first. Then I like to grab a breakfast burrito from Seis. Unfortunately, it was too early to enjoy breakfast at Seis I'll catch them next trip! Saturday mornings are my favorite day because the traffic is lighter. Sunday mornings they are slammed. The line for Seis is out the front gates and there are several bicyclist groups. I think what impresses me though is that even when they are slammed the quality is still there in every sip and in every bite. I am usually there too early for the shopping but I can window shop. read more

I'm a neighbor and regular fixture at the Mercado! They have really stepped up their game over the years I'm been coming. It's always well groomed and has a chill vibe. There is live music on Friday's nights and they have great local businesses. AK Kitchen is great for a date night dinner, Seis makes an awesome breakfast burro, Presta for a perfect cappuccino, and Estrella for some Mexican pastries! A more recent addition is Bloom Mavin which makes great floral arrangements! I feel so lucky to have all this in my back yard read more

The cutest little marketplace you've ever been to. The overall aesthetic and vibe here is trendy and casual as well as warm and welcoming. I fell in love with everything here. From the gorgeous courtyard, mature trees, and patio seating. It was so nice to grab an iced coffee and just enjoy the day. There are so many great shops and restaurants in The Mercado. My girls participated in the Food Day event this past Sunday at this location, and not only was the event SPECTACULAR! but the space is indeed very nice, and the commercial kitchen is awesome. It really has everything a caterer or cooking class could possibly need. My girls really liked the courtyard and the shops as well. My only complaint is that every time I have tried to contact the management about using their kitchen space, I received no response. Then many months later when I tried again, I finally received responses from two different people only to tell me that they were full and not taking any new renters. They also said they would get back to me with an update within a month. Well it's been 4 months and nothing! Anyway, so 4 stars for the facilities and coolness of the place. read more

What a lovely space!!!!!!!!!!!! I was here for a canning class, hosted by Food Swap Tucson. Lorraine Glazar schooled us on traditional water bath canning. Water bath canning requires no fancy equipment and is easy to do at home. Lorraine shared her esoteric recipes for tomatoes, prickly pear preserves and an onion relish. We even got to take home the jelly and the onion relish....I was really lemming for the tomatoes too! FAQ: Q: What is Food Swap Tucson? A: It is an uber cool group of bakers, gardeners, cooks who assemble and swap food! They also, host canning classes!!!!!!! I believe the next one is going to be on olives. I should mention, you may be swapping and hob nobing with some of the chefs who host underground supper clubs. I was so jazzed to work inside of the 1, 300 sq. ft. commercial kitchen, something I had never done before. This kitchen is brand spankin new, sparkly clean, top notch equipment. 6 burners, 2 commercial grade ovens, plenty of preparation and packaging room, two steam trays, two chilled sandwich tables, 40 lb. fryer, broilers, and the refrigerator/freezer/dry storage space. What an asset to the community....esp. small craft local food businesses! Even many of our tasty food trucks use the space. They have lockers to store your equipment (you need to bring your own pots/pans) for the frequent patrons. Get this! You can rent it between 5 and 20 dollars an hour! I seriously am considering putting on some Indian and Thai cooking classes to share my mad skills. After class, I checked out the bakery, the taqueria, the brasserie, and sno cone place.....all looked really nice. People were noshing on pasteriesand scrumptous Mexican egg dishes in the open air courtyard under the cerulean sky, while two musicians merrily played some sweet tunes. My friend took me to this fun gem. I love the feel of the Mercado. Outside dining with different vendors. There is a Mexican diner, a bar, bakery, cafe, and other small shopping stores. All the businesses come together in a courtyard where you can relax to enjoy some live music and the evening. I only had some chips and salsa but the Mexican restaurant's menu looked amazing. I hear their breakfast burritos are delicious. I can't wait to go back and share the Mercado with friends. read more

Beautiful interior, awesome location, and great shops! While not everything is open yet, the Mercado San Agustin still shows a lot of promise. I have a feeling when this place gets going, that is will be one great location. While things are still getting ramped up, you should definitely check out Taqueria El Pueblito for some amazing and authentic Southern Mexico cuisine. I love their Al Pastor burrito! Lebanese style shawarma in a burrito, that's amazing! If you like cooking for yourself, and have always wanted to play with some high end cooking equipment, consider renting their shared kitchen for some of your gatherings. With their truly affordable rates, this may be one offer people have a difficult time passing up. Stop by Holly's Little Farm for some delicious and unprocessed honey from the Tucson and Phoenix area. If the amazing tastes don't get you, the allergy benefits just might. You have to go to La Estrella Bakery. They have the nicest people I've ever met on their staff, and their baked goods are incredible. Pretty soon they will be doing a mural explaining the history of their bakery, and the origins of their unique and tasty breads.
