Amazing food, attentive and kind service, cute diner atmosphere, will be coming back again! Definitely one of the best spots around!

My crew for the weekend.

Ms. Stella's was the best place for down home country cooking. The people were very friendly and the food was awesome and amazing. We were in Milledgeville GA for 3 days and we ate there all 3 days. We didn't want anything else. Everything they served was great and the price was excellent. I will drive 5 hours to eat there, spend the night and eat again before getting back on the road. I love, love, love, Ms. Stella's.

This is the type of hole in the wall mom and pop place I was looking to find in Milledgeville. I happened at this place at the recommendation of a local and could not be happier I found this place. The place is at the corner and is a converted house. Walk in the doors and to your right is a modest dining room and to the left is where you order/pick up your food. Tons of locals hit this spot and everyone seemed to know everyone else. A plate comes with your choice of protein (I got the grilled chicken!) along with two sides of your choice. All the southern classics! All for ~ $6. They also serve some sandwiches, tea+lemonade, drinks, and desserts. Food was a great value for the price and the service came with a side of southern hospitality.

The restaurant is on the corner. Baked chicken. Beans and collards. Key lime pound cake.

The Hampton inn clerk told about this soul food place. I had the baked chicken with collared greens and beans. Slow cooked soft chicken was perfect for dinner. Hints and strands of pork in the collards. The key lime pound cake is chilled and delicious. Staff is friendly and dinner under $8.

So, after waiting a minute, or 2, I stepped through the Employees Only, and hollered, Anyone here!? No answer. So figuring the prep person was in the bathroom, I sat down to wait. One nice thing that COVID has brought, the aluminum tables and benches, have been stacked to one side. And, they have padded chairs about 6 feet apart. Well, after another 3 minutes of waiting, someone from the Parent Company, Octagon Cafe, came over to wait take my order. Again, it's still advertised but not offered, is the Thin crust pizza. So, since I had a fresh 12 pack of beer, just begging to have pizza to go with it, ;-) I decided on a pepperoni pan pizza. Well, the CSR had to go back across the entrance, to get the pan of dough. :-o While the pizza was good, it didn't turn out great. Apparently, someone didn't spray enough oil on the bottom pan to allow it easy separation. And, because I didn't want the pizza cut (they have a 8-slice cutter), but the cutter hadn't been cleaned after the last use. So, not knowing how long it had been, I ended up bringing the pie pan home. So, now, I'll have to make another stop to return the bottom. And, after all that fighting, the topping had shifted, making for a lopsided pizza. At least I didn't have to pay a tip (I went to add it to the credit card receipt, but she told me not to worry about it). After getting back to my place, and when it was time to cut, and heat, the desired number of slices (3 of 16), I too, had to fight to get the pizza slices off the pan. To be honest, while the price is hard to beat, after today's episode there, I'm not sure if I'll go back, or not.

So I went to exchange it for another option. I was willing to buy it no problem. Some old lady I talked to was rude she gave me my money after I told her what the problem was. She immediately gave me my money I said no I wanted a different pie. She said if you don't like that one you can't do that because you might try to bring it back ! I said can I buy it she said no !! . I left !!! Her attitude was nasty it could have been resolved better than that . I will not be going back there ever again . Too expensive for rude nasty service. I don't recommend this restaurant!

The menu is a skeleton of what it once was with a handful of our favorites now gone. (shrimp tempura appetizer, cheese curds, onion rings and the Philly is gone) -1. Burgers remained and I ordered the double smashed patty black and blue. I use to get their blue cheese burger before and it was good but I'll hand it to the chef. This burger was superior to what I received here in the past! They have changed the fries as well which is a blessing. We ordered one side of fries, because of past experiences, but these were very good. My wife got the patty melt and said it was very good as well although she misses the Philly. Overall a good experience and we will return. Hoping they consider bringing some things back if enough customers request.

Richard Martin was playing on stage and singing some Weezer, Oasis, Johnny Cash, Sublime, etc. We order a couple drinks, an appetizer and an entree to split. First off, the drinks were delicious and pretty. Good job! We went with the 3 appetizer sampler. I think it's called the Pecking Plate. We decided on the hummus with cucumber and naan, the onion rings and a Bavarian pretzel with cheese dip. 1. Hummus - Delicious!!!! Everything about it was excellent. 2. Onion Rings - they looked amazing, but they were VERY bland. 3. Bavarian Pretzel w/cheese - the pretzel had a hard top half and a soft bottom half, I'm not sure if it was how they heated it up, but it was weird. But, the cheese dip was excellent. In fact, we ended up dipping the onion rings into the cheese dip. For the main course we heard the burgers were very good so we went for a Shroom & Swiss Burger with a side of Chili Queso Fries. I was very hopeful for some outstanding fries!!! So, the burger was absolutely delicious. It was well seasoned, VERY juicy, toasted bun, good cheese and shrooms! The fries kinda missed the mark a bit. They were pretty old tasting fries, I think if they were fresher my final opinion would have been different. But the chili had good flavor. And it looks like the person dumping the cheese forgot his glasses. lol! Overall, I'll give the entire experience a 3 star. They had some high points and some low points.
