SCAMMERS -- AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could leave zero stars,…read moreI would. This company approached our home claiming we needed a new roof, offering free inspections/estimates and help navigating the insurance process. After a storm caused leaks inside, we contacted them. We specifically asked for the rep who first approached us, but instead Russ Owen showed up, claiming to be the manager and offering to "help" us better with the insurance (first red flag). They said interior damage was outside their scope but assured us it would be included in the claim. Once the claim was approved, they started demanding upfront payment, saying they couldn't afford materials otherwise (second red flag). Thankfully, our insurance only released part of the funds until completion. It took a month after they received the first checks before I could even choose shingles. Another month later, they said those shingles weren't available and gave me only two alternate options. I chose one, but yet another month passed, and the wrong color shingles were delivered. When I asked why, I was told, "Sorry, I'll find out who made the mistake." At that point, I allowed them to install the wrong ones -- rain was still leaking into the house and I needed the roof done. Side note: the interior damage was never included in the original claim, and when we asked about it, they claimed to know nothing and said Russ no longer worked for them -- something they never communicated to us. Russ's name wasn't even on our paperwork, meaning he never actually helped file the claim. At this point, I started looking into their reviews and background -- which I should've done earlier. What I found was deeply concerning. When they began the job, they said it would take one day -- except the turret section of our roof (cone-shaped), which would need its own day due to the steep grade. I later found out the turret should have been done first to properly integrate with the rest of the roof. A week passed before they came back to finish the turret. It had rained by then -- and the leaks continued. They finally "finished" the roof, and then a random guy showed up unannounced to collect the rest of the payment. We hadn't received the final insurance check, so he left empty-handed. Days later, another man came by to "see what the problem was." This turned out to be Cody Wiley. He looked at the roof, then returned a few days later with someone who looked like a high schooler to "fix the leak." When done, he pressured my husband for payment. We told them we would pay after an independent inspection confirmed the work was done properly. Cody became hostile, saying he had fallen off the ladder "trying to help us out" and couldn't get paid because we wouldn't pay. He then called his boss, Dakota Byrd, who began threatening a lien on our home and said he would sue us because he couldn't pay his workers. Cody also admitted that the crew who worked on our house had since been let go for doing such poor work and leaving trash all over the roof -- places that couldn't be seen from the ground. We then had the independent inspection done. The report was damning: Nails overdriven into shingles Step flashing missing in required areas Step and apron flashing left exposed with no counter flashing Drip edge missing on cone roof Shingles improperly installed on cone -- butt joints overlapping Ridge vent installed but not cut open Evidence of heavy foot traffic damaging multiple areas Their "fix" to our leak? Cody sprayed bright yellow foam over a hand-sized hole and covered it with raw, untreated wood. This section of our new roof now has exposed foam visible from the ground. While fascia and soffit were "not in their scope," they never informed us they were rotting or waterlogged -- meaning they installed a new roof over decaying wood. I regret ever trusting this company. They're unprofessional, dishonest, and their work doesn't meet basic standards. The constant lies, disappearing reps, unskilled labor, and aggressive payment demands (before completion or inspection) are clear signs of a shady operation. Do your research. Get an independent inspector. And stay far, far away from this company.
