I purchased 3 battery combiners for work, with all being used in the exact same way. Two of them worked great, but one was defective out of the box. Solar biz never returned my calls or messages to troubleshoot. Our HR staff finally got a hold of them, and they asked us to mail the defective combiner. Solar Biz decided not to honor their one year warranty and did not specify why. I love supporting small eco-friendly businesses, but I'll be skipping this one in the future. read more

I had a very positive experience with The Solar Biz and a great price. I talked to Patty and she was extremely helpful and friendly. I don't have a dog in the fight that occurred in 2010 with the person who has posted very negative reviews. The fact that he or she essentially spammed Yelp and elsewhere with multiple negative reviews about the same issue was a signal to me to look deeper. So I asked Patty about the dispute and she told me a little about it from her perspective.Her story made sense and I could see why it was not so clear cut. I think this may be the oldest solar company in North America. All the engineers are women, except for one guy, but I've never talked to anyone who knew more about solar. I read the other comment here and I can't believe they're talking about the same company. I was referred to them by my neighbors all of whom had done business with them for decades, with only high praises. These folks were very knowledgeable and they didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. read more

I ordered a couple batteries from Solar Biz online. The online ordering gives the buyer options as to shipping methods. One of the methods was 2 day. This was perfect as I needed them quickly. The online order form was easy to fill out. I selected 2 day. The final statement before "submit order" showed my address for the shipping destination address, the 2 day shipping option, a total amount including shipping (0). The total was about $300.00 for the order. The next day I get an e-mail stating that they could not ship my order 2 day. If I wanted them delivered it would cost an additional $300 dollars. That's right, $300 dollars. "Delivery times usually take a week" I was told. A far cry from delivered to my doorstep, 2 day air. They did give me the option to provide my own shipping, i.e.: me driving to get them from an out of town battery distributer adding an additional $18 dollars to my order total plus my time, fuel. I never did ask why my providing my own trucking should add cost to me. The designated place was 60 miles away. I spent 3 hours today doing that. The only other thing I would add is that Carrie the person I corresponded with was professional and helpful. None of this was her fault and she did try and mitigate the situation which hopefully will be fixed for the next customer. I ordered from Solar Biz specifically for ease of ordering online and quick delivery to my house. My lost time today though made these batteries pretty expensive. Lesson learned read more
