I had one of their daily specials, an Italian with Minestrone Soup, which paired perfectly with each other. I got to sample their version of a Philly Cheesesteak. I can't wait to try their Patty Melt and their Texas Reuben. We were all joyously enjoying our lunch, when we were treated with a free slice of their banana cheese cake. I'm not an huge dessert person, but it was so good that I did take multiple bites. I was expecting it to be heavy, but it wasn't. It's a MUST try for any banana lovers. It's a small mom and pop grocery store that serves burgers and fries along with other items. But I had to try the burger. I'm glad I did cuz it was freaking good. Bun was toasted, fixings were fresh and the patty was cooked perfectly with the right seasoning. Fries are crinkle cut Ore Ida style like the ones you get at Burger Boy . The dining area is also a bar that has loud music from a jukebox that's modern. And the $12 price tag isn't a huge dent in the wallet. Parking can be a bit of a pain since it's limited cuz there's no parking lot and you're forced to park on the little side street off Castroville Rd but don't let that be a deterrent. The service was friendly too.

Get the Delhi food into my belly! This is a large Indian…read moresupermarket! It's big! It's the anchor spot for a thoroughly exotic strip shopping center off Babcock. The Indian Super Market has a whole produce section. Most of the stuff you can find at HEB, but they've got some harder to find stuff. The spices here are amazing- they have a whole aisle with so many different spices. Christopher Columbus was willing to travel halfway around the planet to get the Indian subcontinent's spices, you don't have to go so far! In the center of the store is a little snack bar where they're serving up authentic Indian street food for here or to-go. The best part about this place is the snack aisle with all these strange flavors and exotic tastes to munch on. I also enjoy the frozen section which includes all kinds of ready to go vegetarian food, and desserts. The store is clean and well lit. The staff is friendly, but offers little advice on how to use the spices. That's the internet's job. The prices are mainly pretty good, considering that this stuff has all come from so far away. There's some real deals on the snacks! You won't find most of the merchandise here, except for the produce, at HEB. My only complaint about this place is that a few times I've gotten items that I've brought home, and found that they're long past their expiration dates, and the past-due expiration dates were either strategically covered with a price tag, or a sticker, or in one case- White Out. I've been more careful to make sure that the items are still fresh while shopping here.

BEWARE... Don't rely on the reviews…read more This is the first time I am writing a bad review for any store. These are some of the meanest people I have ever dealt with. I purchased Mumbai Pav on April 20th, and the expiry date mentioned was May 16th. The same day I opened it, it was full of fungus from inside and looked hard and expired. I even made a video of it. Today, I went to the store again for groceries, and at the checkout counter I informed them about my previous purchase and showed them the video. They said they wanted the receipt along with the product. How can they expect someone to keep FUNGUS-INFECTED BREAD for almost a month, especially when I live very far from the store? Instead of apologizing, the rude lady at the counter said, "How do we know you purchased it from here?" I told her, "Look at my purchase today. Does it look like I am lying for a $5 bread?" Every month, I spend around $200 on groceries at this store. From now onward, I will never shop here again. That's not my loss, bro. You are selling EXPIRED PRODUCTS. Please train your staff on how to behave with customers, especially that rude lady at the counter. Another incident: one of my friends bought daal from this store that had many insects in it. The packets are usually kept near the entrance. When she informed them about it, they neither exchanged the product nor gave a refund

At some point it was so cheap we would get triple of what's needed at home just to get it! They still do have discounts now. The Best Buy at this store is the cashew nuts! If you like them get them here raw and roast them yourself! I love Indian food too and cooking it. They do have everything needed! Plus they have Indian street food snacks. It is only open I believe Friday to Sunday. I got the chance to try the pani puri. I saw the cart outside several times. This time it was set up inside. The girl who served them to me was kind and patient. They have to fill each and give it to you on the spot otherwise it gets soggy. It is an explosion of flavors! When I was paying I was looking at the sweets she gave me a jalebi to try Even if you are not planning on buying anything. It is simply an experience visiting this market!

The store's male owner was welcoming and very friendly. However, Tina, who checked my husband and me out, provided no customer service. I had to engage and say, "Hi, how are you?" which made me feel like I was bothering her, as she wasn't friendly or welcoming at all. I asked the owner a question about desserts and such, and she rudely interrupted talking down on him, which shocked both my husband and I. As much as she lacked customer service, she will not stop us from coming back. I would like to give this place a 5 star, but with Tina's attitude and all, I have to knock a star off.
