Both visits, I dropped by after work. The mall has a parking lot. It does get a bit busy at night. I backed into a spot and took the entrance on the left to head inside. There was a huge banner that led me to this food stall. You can't miss it. This place goes get busy at dinnertime. Both times, staff were pleasant and nice. York University students and non-students alike drop by for some good, cheap eats in this mall, so it makes sense why this place is so popular. There is a special for students. Between 11 am and 1 pm, they can get the son's size lasagna for $5. It's such a steal that I almost want to be a student again for this deal only... haha! You can choose between beef or vegetable lasagna. I have now had both. It takes approximately six minutes to heat up a small (son's) size of lasagna. The medium size is the dad. You can get a double of each size, depending on your hunger pangs. I don't mind waiting for yumminess. Staff were cool to come around the counter both times to hand me my food. It was such a nice touch. During my first experience, I had ordered a caesar salad. I noticed while heading to my car that I didn't have it, so I walked back. The male staffer immediately knew and was extremely apologetic. Craziness does that to all of us. I paid with a credit card both times. It allows tapping. Paying with mine was smooth. The son's size of lasagna is generous for one person to devour. I brought my lasagna home both times. It was still warm in my insulated bag. This place does four-layer lasagna. I liked that it had the perfect amount of cheese, which made it not terribly rich. It had sliced mushrooms in it. Yes! It pleased this mushroom fan. The difference between the meat and vegetarian lasagna versions was the sauce. The meat sauce in the former was excellent. It tasted homemade. My side salad was decent. I got croutons, parmesan cheese, and Italian dressing in separate small containers. The lettuce was romaine, which made my day because it was fresh and crisp. It made me happy, Getting grab-and-go lasagna is a brilliant concept. I love the lasagna here that's made with love and care. It's yummy. Healthy Alternative is truly the best healthy alternative food delivery option we've found so far…read more(especially for their vegan options) that is both reasonable price-wise and tastes amazing (without a lot of the unsavoury additives you'll find...ahem...corn syrup). We've tried LiveFit, Yumba, WeCook...I can't believe I actually WANT to order their salads - they're that good. I've also ordered the meat options and they were great too. The only reason why I've given them 4 stars is because I wish their ordering system was more clearly explained and user friendly on the website, because I had to call/email them a couple times to figure out how to do it. Just a heads up, it's a food subscription, they offer a first time delivery discount code, call them and ask for it. You order a plan through the website then they email you the weekly menu options. They also offer some wiggle room in the delivery dates, which is awesome. Also, free delivery, yay!! I also wish they offered more non-soy vegan options, but still love that they offer delicious vegan options. As a side note, I've really loved their salad dressings & sauces so far (particular YUM to their tzatziki or aioli sauces). Definitely worth a try if you're trying to find a delicious and healthy option!

I spotted this new supermarket as I made a left turn from Highway 27 onto Finch Avenue West. I was…read moreheading to Wok of Asia to have some dinner. I needed to pick up a few grocery items, so dropping by Food World Supermarket afterwards was perfect. This building used to Rose Garden Banquet and Convention. I'm guessing that due to the pandemic, this business suffered and shut down. There is plenty of parking in front and around this supermarket. I backed into a spot and walked in. The doors automatically open, which is wonderful. This supermarket is located across from Burger King. I often frequent it when I crave a flame-broiled burger. Both are in the same plaza as Wok of Asia. It's clean and cheerful when you first walk in. You see cases of pop and sparking water. The produce section then greets you. I needed avocados and celery. Prices are either comparable to what you see at grocery stores like No Frills, but the quality is better. Both produce items that I grabbed were fresh and in great condition. This grocery store carries halal items. It features a lot of South Asian products, such as Parle-G and paratha. You also see ramen and Ribena, both of which made me love shopping at this store even more. I saw everything from custard to paneer. It does sell corned beef in cans and rose water in glass bottles. Cool! The meat section is impressive. It's huge with every cut of meat that you can possibly think of. You can get food to go. There's a stall within the supermarket where you can get pizza, shawarma, and more. I paid for my produce. The woman at the checkout was extremely pleasant and nice. I paid with my debit card. This store gives you a plastic bag. I thanked her and headed to the exit. Just before you exit, there's a stall that sells desserts, ice cream, drinks, and more. I asked the woman behind the counter whether their drinks have added sugar. They don't. The store goes with the natural sweetness of their fruit or veggies. I wanted to get the sugar cane and coconut hydrating beverage. She had run out of coconut, so I got a large sugar cane drink. As she made my drink, I looked at the desserts display. There were individual portions of chocolate mousse cake and sponge cakes. You can also get milkshakes, ice cream, and more. She asked whether I wanted ice in my sugar cane drink. I said as much as the cup could fit the ice. It was perfect on a hot day. I asked the nice woman how long this supermarket has been open for. It opened on May 18th. I paid with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and left with my groceries and drink. The sugarcane was indeed the real deal. It was naturally sweet and yummy. I was happy with my drink. It was nice consuming it as I drove home. Whenever I was in the area to grab some dinner, there was never a supermarket close by to get a few grocery items.
