Pastafina Mineral Wells - Chicken Alfredo was excellent and large portion, very creamy

I just went with my gut on this place and I'm glad I did! We had to pass through Mineral Wells…read moreafter a Rocker B tournament in Graford on a Sunday afternoon, so this was perfect to eat at. We started out with the garlic knots. They are light enough in flavor to add Parmesan or crushed pepper too or enjoy as is. The pepperoni pizza was good. Typically we ask for light marinera sauce on our pizzas but had it how it came. Easy request, we just didn't ask, as it was our first try here. Chicken Fettuccine: We loved how the pasta sauce was creamy, a thicker consistency and the chicken wasn't chunky (sliced thinner) The creamy flavor matched a place we used to have back home but they ended up closing down. I also had a Caesar salad that was a good portion so I ended up sharing it with my husband. Dressing: We are use to the rich anchovy flavor with the dressing that usually comes on those salads but It wasn't a bad flavor, just a lighter taste. Definitely would recommend Pastafina if you are in the area and looking for a new Italian place to try.

The food is not good. I got a salad, didn't finish it because it is soaking in dressing. Husband…read moregot the shrimp scampi and didn't like it - said there was lime in the sauce. Our server may have been new because she was super nervous and messed up out order plus didn't separate our checks correctly. She was super friendly though. The ambiance is nice, a bit dark but clean.

Our server was attentive and made great recommendations for drinks. The black truffle fries and chips and guacamole appetizers were excellent as were the drink prices. We would definitely come back to try dinner here as the menu looked amazing.

I gave it three stars due to location. The up front service was polite and friendly. Lots of good people smiles and attentive. Our waitress was pleasant and gave suggestions along the way. I was expecting a fabulous 5 star food experience. I was so disappointed. The food was a great disappointment, no flavor. The plating was a mess and not appealing at all. We had a party of four and only one person was pleased with their dinner. This was the Beet Salad. Sloppy plating, only about four beet slices, covered in micro greens, freeze dried chickpeas, and vinegar. The vinegar dressing overpowered the salad and it needed salt. For $15, I was so disappointed Soba Noodles was poorly plated. Down right ugly and unappealing. The person who ordered it, said it was plain. No taste and extremely vinegary. Such a disappointment. Broiled Salmon was plated just ok. The salmon was cooked well and had good simple flavor. I enjoyed it. The side was supposed to be butternut squash and broccolini. I got four butternut squash cubes and 1 tiny broccolini. The purée on the bottom was a vinegar butternut squash- very sour and not enjoyable. It did add to the dish at all. In between the butternut squash and broccolini, there was about 13 soggy croutons that made the sides look filled in but left the palate wanting more. I so dislike soggy bread, no matter what format it comes in. The whole plate was covered in micro-greens, as to hide the plating and make it look bigger than what it is. The New York strip was cooked to perfection and the polenta was tasty. However that whole plate was $55. Plated well and had really good flavor. This party member was the only one that enjoyed his food and experience. Out of the four of us, only one left satisfied with his meal. And that was the New York strip steak. The rest of us left hungry and unsatisfied with our dinners. We were hoping that our very souls would have been touched by the food of this particular Chef . We had heard so many great things about it, only to be incredibly disappointed. I will say that this restaurant is the most expensive, fanciest , nicest, AND CLEANEST restaurant in Mineral Wells. But the food is lacking. I'm sorry.

E Z Mart Stores

In the "wonderful" town of Mineral Wells there are few things that you can really count on except…read morethat on every street corner there will be a church, a bar, family planning clinic, and an EZ Mart. To save space they should find a way to combine the four. Now that would be true one stop "shopping" EZ Mart is like a 7-11 except way less efficient and much more dirty, and REALLY ghetto, minus the awesomeness of the Slurpee, here they only have soda, take it or leave it they do not care, and they do NOT want the word SLURPEE spoken inside the store, its an abomination to say it even. You can fill up on gas, grab a fountain soda and beef jerky, see 9 people you went to school with, 5 of which will not be wearing shoes, or a shirt, 7 will have super mullets, all 9 will have at least 4 kids - with them, NONE of them will have a job, and out of the 9 none will have gotten their GED yet. So basically what I'm saying is stopping in at EZ Mart is necessary, but can be depressing and often times down right scary! At a few of the locations that are in the "seedy" parts of town, after dark they have a walk up window, this is of course for their safety, but it takes FOREVER to give your order to the cashier and she/he run thought the store to retrieve your needed items. The few times I've had to do this, I would quickly jot down a list and I've learned this saves LOTS of time and confusion - assuming the person can read? Ahhh I just love little redneck towns, country people, meth addicts, welfare Mothers with dirty babies, all of which frequent EZ Mart 24/7
