This is a place perfect for a quick lunch, as it's primarily take-away but also offers a couple of seats at the counter. The food is mostly pre-cooked and heated up (piping hot!) when ordered. I had the butter chicken curry and was very content with it very tasty, good meat quality (tough noticeable that it had been pre-cooked, cooled off a bit and heated up again) as well as decent naan (though I'd've preferred it warm). The house-made soba noodles themselves…read moreare very good here, and the soba dishes are reasonably priced, with most ranging from 10-16 euros. However, the rest of the dish isn't necessarily as good as the noodles. The cold soba with lemon and myouga ginger (15 €) was delicious and refreshing - I definitely recommend this dish during the summer. On the other hand, the warm soba with scrambled eggs in hot noodle soup (12 €) was too salty and not very enjoyable. Also, while the soba is reasonably priced, the appetizers are a bit pricey: the herring app we tried was 6,30 € and just ok. Service is very polite, and our server spoke fluent German, Japanese, and English. There's a 50 € card minimum. If you're a tourist visiting Düsseldorf and can find handmade soba at home, then I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to make a special trip here. However, if not then I think Soba An is a great option. Just be sure to come early or make a reservation, as the restaurant is quite small.
