This little health food shop is packed full of goodies. Sea vegetable snacks, coconut oil, pepitas,…read moregoji berries, cacao nibs, gluten free mung bean and black bean pastas, gluten free pizza bases, white mulberries kale chips, fresh wheat grass and juices, Addiction foods yummies - so many delicious healthy things you won't ever feel the need to indulge in junk food again. They stock a good range of organic skin care products too like Dr Hauschka, Suki and Trilogy (including their new fake tan with natural ingredients) as well as vitamins and homeopathic medicine like natural hay fever tablets. The naturapath working in store told me that they can also mix up any herbal blend in their wee lab out the back. They are all up for encouraging community and promoting local produces too. On Saturdays they now have a fresh organic food stall with things like organic fruit and vege, duck eggs, gluten free almond and orange cake, vegan brownie. Their facebook page has photos of the vege patch the produce was picked from - fresh as it comes!

I've been in here on several occasions and always found the experience pleasant...until yesterday…read more We went in to get our usuals and were treated terribly. It was hard to get their attention to be served (one lady seemed more interested in whatever she was doing on the computer and seemed annoyed we needed serving.) . Once she did serve us she was impatient and rude, huffing and puffing and so on. To the point where I asked her if it was too much trouble for her. Then she gave me the wrong desert(luckily I checked) because she truly wasn't listening to me. We both left there with a very bad taste in our mouth, shocked that you would treat customers with such disdain. To top it off when I went to eat my dessert that night it was spoiled (it's always been amazing & is my favourite!). I called up to let her know and she told me it's IMPOSSIBLE that it could be bad. Wow! Long story short I got a refund for the dessert and she continued to be rude to me to the very end. We usually spend at least $40 a pop when we go here but we will never go back again - there are plenty of places to choose from that also have good service. Did I mention she was the owner!! What a way to do business.

When I moved to North Sydney I was delighted to find an organic store so close to home. I worked…read morefor a well known organic beauty store in London for a few years so am always interested to see how we compare in oz on this front. In terms of organic beauty Taste have a decent range - Dr Hauschka, Weleda, Trilogy, Suki to name but a few. They have some men's ranges, plenty of natural soaps, hair dyes, pamper products and baby care skin care. Beyond beauty they have a fantastic range of health foods. I've bought gluten free baking powder, lentil pasta, sprouted bread, coconut yoghurt, seaweed snacks, organic teas, coffees and chocolate - pretty much anything you can think of that Wholefoods might have these guys do too. The difference is, though the shelves are most certainly full, it doesn't feel crammed or stuffy in here. As well as packaged goods there is also a decent selection of fresh organic fruit and veg. It's obviously more expensive than supermarket produce but it tastes more alive. There is a fairly energetic come feisty in-house naturapath in store there most days who is a wealth of information and pretty good at sales (my personal trainer sister walked out with four treatments for her dermatitis). There is a fairly good range of vitamin and minerals. The staff are gentle, sweet and helpful. If you fancy a fresh organic fair trade juice or coffee they can whip one up for you to enjoy on the tables and chairs outside. Mind you, this right on Falcon Street so the car fumes don't bode well for your organic snack - unless it goes straight down the hatchet, that is. Parking available underground on the premises.
