New ownership, great experience. Ray painted all my parts in a quick turnaround, and they look great!

So if you want any automotive parts powder-coated, this is not the place. First off, the colors…read morethat I wanted turned out amazing. But those colors were from Prismatipowders.com. I was then quoted $55 per rim and $35 per caliper. They neglected to tell me that I would pay extra for the actual powder coat compound. I was then given a 2-3 week turnaround. And let it begin... First I emailed on week 3 for a status update and they said that the powder I ordered was on back order and that it would take another couple of weeks. That probably would have been more valuable information on the first week, or at least when I placed the order. Six and half weeks later, I get the phone call that they are finished. This is almost seven weeks later, when I was specifically told 2-3 weeks. So I get there to pay and its $130 more expensive because they wanted to charge $60 per rim and $50 per caliper. After negotiating, I ended up paying $70 over the estimate. Now that it's paid for, let me see the product. Like I said, the colors were awesome. But let's start off with the rims. All four rims had fisheye problems and I was asked if I wanted them redone. I just paid nearly $500 and I'm being asked if I want them redone? My first question was, if they had enough powdercoat. They said that they "think" they had enough for all four. Great, there goes another 6+ weeks of waiting. So my response was, redo the worst one and if it fixes the fisheyes, then call me and we can discuss redoing the other three. If not, then I will just take what I got and use some touch up paint. What does he do? They end up doing two at a time and delaying the process. It's now been another 4 days. Now come the calipers. I get home and noticed that they failed to plug the holes for the piston and the holes for the bleeder screws. What does that mean? Oh just an excess amount of powder coat inside the piston sleeves and now the pistons won't go in. Sure I can sand them down, but I just paid $500 and I risk scoring the inside of the sleeves. As far as the bleeder holes, I could have made a sandbox with the amount of sand that came out of the holes. Now begs the question, how much sand is inside the caliper? There was also a blemish on one of the calipers which I have to sand down and touch up. So I then bring the calipers back up to Mid-Columbia powder coat and ask them if they could remove the powder from inside the sleeve. The dude that works in the shop was pretty knowledgeable and he said that he would get it done. So towards the end of the day, I get a phone call stating that they are done. I had already left town and said that I would come by on Monday. He then asks if I would like to meet on Saturday since his son had a lacrosse game at 1030 and I figured why not. I had to go to town anyway, so we decided on a 1015ish meet time. I call around 1025 and he wasn't at the field. He explained that his son's lacrosse game changed from 1030 to 1130. Thanks for the phone call and letting me know. So, I decide to make a few more errands and meet at 1115ish. I waited for 30 minutes and he never called. This is the owner of Mid-Columbia powder coating mind you. After some text messages back and forth, he said that it should have been my responsibility to contact him. I finally got the rims back a week later and they were perfect. I asked one of the workers inside what was the difference between last time and this time and he said that they just took their time the second time around. Are you kidding me. Never again will I use this company for powder coating nor will I recommend it to anyone. Unless you want to deal with the an owner who doesn't know anything about powdercoating, I would venture somewhere else.

We had nearly the exact same experience as David from yesterday's post! I do not want to give…read moreMid-Columbia powder coating even one star. We were told that my son's wheels would be finished in two weeks. They ran into some problems ordering the powder and having to re-do the wheels because they bubbled up. Five weeks later after waiting over seven weeks we have his wheels. They turned out ok. They are very pitted and they failed to paint the center caps like they said they would. The part that was the most irritating was that they did not keep us informed of what was taking so long and they didn't return our numerous phone calls. The day we picked them up they made us feel like we had inconvenienced them with this job. He listened to our complaints and said thanks for the input. No apology! If they would have given us a sincere apology I probably wouldn't be writing this post right now! So frustrated!
