Well, it's a hot day, we ended up spending a bit of time here learning about the history of Fort…read moreSmith, how integral it was into the colonization of the west, as well as their turbulent times trying to manage both the tribal communities and the white settlers who were moving into the area rapidly. It's a fascinating history And one that you have to spend a little bit of time going to the museum and understanding the different angles. I guess that's a purpose of a museum, right? We learned a little bit about Judge Isaac, Parker, as one of the first influences that had to deal with the wild West murderers and people committing heinous crimes that until he arrived, didn't face many consequences as there was no federal government system that was in control of the area and the tribunal process did not cover non-native Americans. Fascinating history. You can even see a replica of the courthouse as well as the gallows as they were over 160 people hang here. Take a rock across the railroad tracks and read a bit about the trail of tears. There are plenty of areas to contemplate the history. Bring a picnic, there are many places to relax and spread out. The museum is actually free, is air-conditioned and had clean restrooms

The information is presented in a fun way that really grabs your interest. There's a nice out door area to walk and explore more. The rangers were all very friendly and informative. If you are looking for something fun to do with your kids, The HogWild Family Fun Center is…read moredefinitely worth checking out. It's nice to have a place like this in Fort Smith so you don't have to make the long trek to Fayetteville or Rogers. They have a great selection of newer video games, laser tag, mini-golf, mini-bowling, and bumper cars. The games are reasonably priced and the ticket payouts are pretty good. The have a snack bar and they serve pizza but we didn't try any food this time so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. They offer a VIP card which cost $30. However, it comes loaded with $20 in game credits so it's a net cost of $10. This card, good for a year, saves you 20% on video games and the attractions. For $10, knowing I'd be coming back, it seemed like a great value. All in all I was really impressed and look forward to coming back with my kids.

The first thing I noticed was that the games were $1.25 or more to play, which in my opinion was high for the small ticket payouts on every game. (unless you hit one of the jackpots.) They have laser tag, bumper cars, mini golf, canon bowling ($5 per game, which you get a better deal at the actual bowling alley.) They do have party rooms available, a concession stand, and clean restrooms. What I really want to point out is the prize area. After spending $50 dollars in play time and one hour later, we accumulated 575 tickets. Majority of their prizes were cheap and could be bought at the dollar store. For example, they had sour Trolli llama Gummies for 400 tickets, which you can get at the dollar tree for.....you guessed it....$1 whole dollar! My daughter got about $2 worth of "prizes" which were not even worth the money I spent here. They were way understaffed with only one manager on duty. When a game broke down, it took me over 15 minutes to get someone over to fix it. If you are planning to come here with some young kiddos, just know you're going to spend a lot of money for not so great prizes. You're better off going to Chuck E. Cheese and dropping $20 on one hour of game play and get much better prizes because the ticket payout is better. The other bonus is that Chuck E. Cheese has online coupons that can save you even more money when you bring a whole crew full! If I could ask for a refund on this place I would because that's how unsatisfied I am. Until something changes, like more staff, lower prices for game play and better ticket payouts. I will not be coming back until something is done. I hope this helps anyone looking for something to do to steer clear from here.
