Do not do business with this vendor. Mr. Paint (Mike Rogers) is shady and dishonest. Hires third party contractors who do bad work and doesn't take responsibility. Here's what happened: In Spring 2023 we hired Mr. Paint to paint our deck. After the work was completed the paint was peeling after only a few months. We contacted him later that summer, he came out to look at the job, agreed it wasn't prepped correctly and offered to return in the following Spring and re-do the work. He returned in Spring with a Sherwin Williams Rep who confirmed that the site wasn't prepped correctly, it was power washed one day before painting and the wood, still retaining moisture, then expanded after painting leading to extensive cracks and peeling. After his own paint rep confirmed the site was not correctly prepped Mr. Paint then blamed the third party contractor that HE HIRED and refused to re-do the job as he previously promised and also refused to return our money. We are now out $1275 and our deck looks worse than before it was painted. It will cost us more to repair his company's poor workmanship than the amount we originally paid him. We are now filing in small claims court to have our money returned and have filed a complaint against Mr. Paint with States Attorneys Office. read more

We have an old home and it has odd ceilings and some with beams on ceiling. After 2 other companies came out to estimate their prices were as high as the ceilings! We looked for veteran owned and found Mr Paint. Mike also was on time to our appointment (the others were late) and was very knowledgeable on the work we'd need done. He also helped me choose the best type paint for our walls. The crew were also on time! They were neat, polite and talented! They cleaned up everything. I've posted pictures so you can see the edges. Well we are so happy and now our neighbors now want to add color to their boring walls. Thank you Mike and Jim and the crew. We love it! Definitely will be calling for our basement soon. read more

I was referred to Mr. Paint by a friend. Getting through to this company was very odd and impersonal. Everything was by texting like I was communicating with a robot. If I am about to have strangers come in my home, I want to be comfortable and reassured I'm in good hands. Texting doesn't cut it. Finally got through all that red tape and it was time to set up an appointment. I said you can come by Thursday or anytime next week, just give me a date and time. Thursday at 3:30pm. Fine! This was all done by text messaging. Texting! Texting! Texting! Thursday comes, I'm outside cutting the grass and gardening looking for Mr. Paint to arrive. About 4 o'clock, no Mr. Paint !! So I texted them, it's 4pm, you were supposed to be here at 3:30pm.. Oh we told you we couldn't make, we overbooked, can we reschedule? Now you tell me this after I've been waiting? Well, we called you at 1:40pm. They copped an attitude and tried to make me feel guilty for not answering their text when they blew me off. This is a red flag and a warning sign to me. Sorry! Mr. Paint did a great job on our home in Frankfort Illinois. They came in after another painter over promised and under delivered. We fired that guy and hired Mr. paint. They wrapped up our project quicker than they promised. The foreman Roberto was very accommodating with some our our wishes and was a pleasure to work with. Mike and his team were great! My fiancé and I are new to the area and had some ambitious thoughts to redo the place we bought. He came out right away to give a quote. Worked with me on getting everything done that I had on my wish list. He was super easy to talk to, texted me updates, even moved and reinstalled curtain rods to where we wanted them. We received an estimate from Mr. Paint to complete entire exterior house painting of our home. The owner, Mike Rogers, came to our house and walked the perimeter of the property with my wife to understand exactly what we wanted done. After the site walk-through, we received an estimate for $4800 to "Powerwash entire home including gutters and chimney. Paint ALL stucco and addition with two coats in two colors as directed by homeowner" We shortly after accepted this bid and paid 50% deposit. The company was majorly delayed from their original tentative starting date of 6/15/22 and arrived on 8/22/22 to begin power washing. The employee power washing the house did not even have the required ladders or equipment to properly reach chimney or the tallest parts of the house. On 8/23/22 workers arrived to start painting. That afternoon we received a call from Mike Rogers saying that he made a mistake and misquoted and it would cost another $4000 to finish the job. He had his employees pack up and leave us with not even a half painted house. They only painted the garage and part of the entryway. We feel that Mr. Paint should honor the approved estimate of $4800 and finish the job as this was their mistake and that should not cost us another $4000. He is unwilling to complete the job and said he is not sending his painters back to our house. (Side Note: The painters themselves did a great job during the time they were there.) We just want the job that was quoted for the price that was quoted and agreed upon by both Mr. Paint and by us, the homeowners. read more
