I ordered steaks Monday $493.93 worth of steaks 59 be delivered to NB. I received a call from a lady on Monday (the same day) at 1:11 Atlantic time staying the steak I had ordered wasn't in stock so they were going to upgrade me at no price for the top of the line. Awesome I thought, I was so excited as this was steaks for my family's vacation. I asked the lady when it would be shipped out she responded with "if it's not sent out tomorrow, it will go Wednesday". So I asked about the shipping as stated online would it get here in one day as I left Friday for vacation. "Of course, it's promises to be one day shipping" she replied. Awesome I thought again. All day Wednesday I looked for it, nothing. All day today I looked for it, checked my credit card, it had been charged Monday. So I called to find out when it should be arriving, to be told that it wasn't being shipped until Monday. Three days after I've left for vacation. I asked what happened and why I wasn't notified and all I got was "it would've had to sit in a warehouse for 5 days", that is not discussed online anywhere. So now my family doesn't have ANY steak for our family vacation. And I'm waiting for a refund. They've literally ruined what we've looked forward to all week and didn't even have the decency to call and notify me. If I hadn't called my $500 steak would be sitting outside all week for me. I would not recommend this place If you are ordering online. What a waste of my time and efforts! read more

Worst quality! We bought rotten turkey legs... had to wait until a manager contacted us, another day. Leaving us nothing for dinner that current night, always great when you have children! We were told to keep the meat and bring back in (30min drive). After I spoke with a manager I was offered in store credit or money back like $5. It will actually cost more in gas to drive there and back. Offered nothing for my time, or the inconvenience. On top of that the ground beef had bits of bone or something to hard to eat. Disgusting... it's cheap for a reason! Will never shop their again! read more

'Kay so I actually really liked this place. It's super affordable but the dirt cheap prices are a result of the lower grade meat they're selling. The shop is really small which can be frustrating if it's busy but it's not a huge deal--I mean you're there to buy meat and leave not have a party. The biggest issue I had though is that when I was waiting in line to pay, two of the employees (management type) had to cut through the line to get to their offices. Now that would be fine had the older gentleman not grabbed my shopping cart, shoved it out of the way and didn't apologize nor say excuse me. Poor customer service story alert! Walked in today to get some ground beef and pork. Good prices - got about 20 lbs combined. Wife called while I was loading the car and told me to get some steaks. Walked back in and noticed that the HUGE display monitor above the registers said that the New York Strip Loin steaks were $7.99/lb. I got a few, went to the register to pay and was told that they weren't on special. I asked why would they have it displayed so prominently if it wasn't valid. Manager stated that the monitors were just "an example" of the savings that can be had shopping here. I asked her if she thought it was deceptive and dishonest to have that pricing on the monitor knowing that it is wrong. She said no because it is just an "example". I asked her to honor the price on the monitor and she said she would not. I left everything on the counter and walked out. Then I went to Fred's Farm Fresh by my house and bought 2 Angus NY Strip steaks @ $11.99/LB. Why? ....because screw poor service and dishonest business practices. I would rather pay more to a grocer with integrity than spend my money at a store that couldn't care less. "Bait and Switch" is a poor business model. read more

I have purchased the extra lean ground beef here numerous times (because of the great price) only to be disappointed every time. Every time I've cooked up a full pound of "extra lean" beef I end up with a full cup of fat! How is this possible when it's only supposed to be cut with 10% fat? I have written to the manager who offered a refund but that was not what I was looking for. I want people to be aware that they are labelling items that are not correct. If you don't believe me then purchase a pound from here and then another grocery store and see the difference. I cook very often and even owned a restaurant and knew as soon as I cooked it that there was something wrong. Also the fact that the chicken breast sits in a pool of water tells me that the chicken is heavily pumped up. I'm not sure with what, but I'm hoping for everyone's sake that it is just water to make the breast heavier so they can make more money on the same item. If your only purchasing steaks or lunchmeat, I've yet to find anything wrong with those items but I would be very aware of any other "meat" products you purchase from there. Like everyone else I go there often because of their great prices but I don't want to be told I'm purchasing one thing and really not knowing what it is that I'm actually purchasing. I used to only buy my meat and poultry from here because of the great prices. Now that I eat completely organic grassfed meat and poultry, I've found another location. I still stop by here sometimes to pick up some lamb or chicken breast. They offer the most competitive prices in the city for all things meat related. Their prices are very cheap and reasonable and the meat is packed fresh every day, according to them. My only complaint would be the handling practices. I've come in here more than once and noticed a dead fly on the meat. I'm not talking about on the saran used to wrap the meat, I'm talking about the actual meat. I let the handlers know and they removed the product. I don't know if they tossed it or simply just picked it off in the back and restocked it. Either way, no big deal. Just clean your meat before cooking and you're good. Sometimes, their chicken breasts are $2.99/lb. I am always happy on that day. They always have weekly specials. read more

The store on the East side overcharge me twice on fruits and vegetables and I had to go back to get a refund, so I went to the one on Walker Rd. and there scale said my bananas weighed 3 and half pounds, I got home and weighed them on my scale which is accurate, said 2 and half pounds, its not the one pound that I paid extra, but if this happens with each customer they are ripping off people all day check your receipts. read more
