I thought I would give Mr Le a relatively small job to do even though I had a co-worker that had a bad experience with Mr Le. First thing I noticed about Voyager Marine these days is the place looks more like a junkyard than a boatyard, Voyager always looked like a professional shop when Gene ran things. When I picked up my boat the repair cost was twice what we had agreed upon and I had to re-do some of the work because of the miss adjusted settings and fasteners that were missing washers that should have been in place. Live and learn, I had a terrible experience and won't be back. If you have work done here I wish you luck.

One quick call got Mr Le on the phone who took so much time explaining everything to me and figuring out the best motor to go with. I had checked prices online and was really surprised that Voyager had the best price anywhere! Today was the day my motor arrived. Mr Le spent a great deal of time going over every detail with me on how to use it, take care of it, and keep it in great shape for many years to come. He is clearly an expert and offers many good tips, tricks, and best practices. I did not catch her name but the lady who answers the calls was also so helpful and friendly. She always got right back to me with any questions or concerns. It is so rare in the day and age to find people who really know their stuff and take the time to share. Voyager Marine clearly wants super happy customers and I now see why there are so many other positive reviews. From the first phone call, ordering, pickup, payment, and support the team here are awesome.

    Pros: I'll have to think about that for a bit. Cons: I…read moreordered from this dealer because they had discounts of $50 and they took PayPal in payment. I wanted PayPal as an option because of all the scammers selling motors online. I didn't realize that using PayPal would eliminate any discounts. My bad, because I didn't read the large print stating that. But the net effect was, the motor wasn't any cheaper than other, more local sources. Also, they didn't have any black motors in the model I wanted, so I was talked into taking the more expensive white one. Again, my bad, because I wanted the motor ASAP, so I took one they told me would be in and ready for shipment by the week of July 13th. But then, July 13th turned into the week of July 20th, and then the week of July 27th. I understand the problems COVID and the world economy & shipping present, but tell me that up front & don't promise me anything other than what you can deliver. Finally, after phone calls, texts, and emails asking for my motor, (which was already paid for in full), I opened a dispute with PayPal. Miracle of miracles, after one more exchange with this dealer, they promised my motor was getting on the truck that night. (August 3rd). Once I got a notification from the shipper, I removed the dispute. The motor arrived the next day! Yay, a happy ending? Nope. I got help to place the motor on my boat; added oil; hooked up the remote controls and a brand new battery; made sure it was in neutral and that the emergency cut-off plate was in place correctly; hooked up the hose so it had water cooling in place; got the video going and turned the ignition key. Nothing. The PTT works fine; there is juice to one side of the starter relay (youTube is invaluable, isn't it?) but the starter does not start the motor. No clicking, nada. This is already too long, so I'll just say, customer support is non-existent with this dealer. I have to wait until mid-September to see a warranty repair locally. Some I called have a waiting list till October. Some were rude in telling me I didn't buy from them so they couldn't be bothered helping me. All in all, I'd pay more to a local dealer and have them install the motor. Saving $50 wasn't worth losing a summer's boating. This is the most expensive "fun" purchase I have ever made, so I was already chewing my liver about it, and with the motor finally arriving and then NOT working? Absolutely a bad deal. EDIT: UPDATE It's now September 2nd, and my motor is still sitting and waiting for a warranty repair appointment sometime after Labor Day. Goodbye, summer, sure would have been fun to go boating. Pros: Cindy and Paul were nice enough on the phone, and once they got the motor in their warehouse, they got it on a pallet and sent to me.

Here is a copy of my letter to Cindy Dixon the National Sales Manager. Cindy, Well you were right, I actually did receive a motor. You shipped when you said you would and it came when you said. It was quite easy to install, and the first time I touched the key it fired right up. It runs great and is VERY quiet. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, you were very easy to work with, and you did what you said. Paint me a happy customer! JAMES
