Erik at the customer service area was very helpful and attentive. Since we are coming to South Bend so much we got the Martins advantage card. They are also chronically understaffed: produce, dairy/eggs, soda sections are typically well-picked-over during peak shopping hours. This is a bigger problem here than any other grocery store I've been to in town, and I've been to all the chains multiple times in the several years I've lived here. The prices are typically pretty decent. Sometimes the checkout lines are long. And one thing they do that is really annoying is that they will have only self check-out lines open, at any given time of day, not just off-hours. It can be really frustrating. The ladies I've checked out with are always super sweet though. Even when they are frustrated at the sometimes poor management and understaffing, they put on a good face.
